I just made this because I thought it looked simple and delicious... well, the ingredients are simple but it does take a LONG time for it to go from liquid to the final sticky mass we're looking for. And they're not kidding when they say stir THE WHOLE TIME, I probably stirred for a good 40+ minutes to get the final product. If you stop stirring even 10 seconds it will form clumps. Anyway the final product was really good :)

Handy tip for you when cutting things such as Turkish delite soft cheeses cakes coated in a soft cream icing or anything soft like paté or even a salmon taurine mouse anything soft and sticky, heres a tip stand the blade of the knife in a jug of boiled water the heat of the blade will then prevent the food sticking which helps keeping the desired shape of the finished item also after a few cuts dip the blade in the hot water again so there is no build up of cooling food on the blade which is likely to start sticking the blade to the food your cutting...a little trick I used when I was a chef for many years hope you find it useful hun 💜

3:31 , Masghati is a soft, Jelly-like sweet made mostly in southern parts of Iran. This sweet is made with slight changes in ingredients and recipes in different regions of Iran but the basic recipe is more or less the same. The main ingredient of Masghati is starch which gives the sweet its jelly form. Saffron, rosewater, and nuts are other ingredients that give this sweet the special taste of it.

This stuff tastes great! I did it with lemons. I'd recommend that you cook it until it's the consistency you're going for: don't rely on it stiffening up as it cools. Before you juice citrus. Try popping the fruit (cut in half) in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. I do this with grapefruit. It makes the little pulp sacs burst (same way an egg yolk explodes if not pierced). Much juicier. So easier to extract all the juice.

Small tip Apply the little bit of butter knife Before cutting Thats very useful on soft cutting
This is giving me ideas now. I think you could easily adapt this recipe to other flavors by changing up the fruit. You could use lemon, lime or a combo of them for an easy change. But I think I could do it with any fruit I can get juice out of (macerate your berries for lots of juice) and leave out the zest (though the flavor wouldn't be as intense). OR, you could make a combo flavor by using another fruit (like strawberry) for the juice and use lemon or lime zest. Then you'd have lemon-strawberry or strawberry-lime candy. OR, skip the citrus zest and instead use ginger, clove, cardamom and cinnamon which taste amazing with strawberry.😋🤤 Today, though, I'm working on making a cook-and-serve strawberry pudding. Not gonna be easy since I don't have a machine to help make the puree but it should be fun.

Anjalena- to purée a strawberry without a food processor: Remove the stems, place the strawberries in a bowl, micro wave (1min should do), then use a spatula and push the berries thru a sieve. This will remove the seeds and give a nice texture to the berry pulp. (Speed it up by using a fork to mash the berry before sieve)
@Anjalena

@@dericksmith2137 Thank you for the help. That's basically what I ended up doing but instead of microwaving the berries, I put them in a pot with some sugar and made strawberry syrup. Then I filtered it through a strainer like you said. Great minds think alike, eh? 😊💕

@@zzoldd I don't really agree with the above poster inappropriately posting here, but I have to jump in here. Jesus never spoke of the usual way we die as "death", but "sleep". It is the second death that is real death. Forever obliterated - not being shoved in eternal flames as the Greeks believed, and the Catholic church adopted. And while there are warnings in the bible about the consequences, people are asked to learn about and communicate with Jesus and during the process, they will be changed. His love and willingness to demean himself to demonstrate that God's law could be obeyed by a man, refuted Satan's lies, and because he suffered the guilt and punishment of every human in our place, we can each accept that gift as if we had lived that perfect life, and allow him to change us. So the first death we experience is not the death the bible speaks about being the wages of sin. It is the second death.

This looks SO incredibly delicious!! ❣ Thank you for the wonderful idea!!!!❤❤❤👍👏
In argentina is called "gomitas" you can find them on different fruit flavors and different sizes. (little cones or biggers squares like the ones you did in the video) is very common to sell them on a little plastic bag
I made it and it’s delicious! I got the oranges right from the tree and they’re still a little tart, so my candy had a nice little sourness to it. I like the texture too.

Good 😊😊😋😋
I wanna try it, but coated with powdered sugar instead. Like some sort of Turkish delight. And maybe experiment with different juices and zests. Pineapple and Lime for example. Or maybe before cooling, fold in some chopped fruit or candied fruit for extra texture and flavors

Pineapple zest is very good for you. Just watch out for pesticides. Always buy organic lol
In France we have a similar treat called Pâtes de fruit but we don't use corn scratch for it ! Only fruit and sugar, and we let them dry

In the US these (or maybe a slightly more gelatinous variation) are generally formed into the rough shape of a section of peeled orange and sold as "orange slices".

We Indians have sweet called "halwa", a famous sweet across every street of India.... Available mostly in every bakery india... Don't wanna brag about it a lot but, if you ever pay a visit to India, have a taste of it... It's sticky, chewy, sweet and with soft texture.... Have taste if anyone pays a visit to India.

It looks delicious. Want to try it with lemons as well.
Yes, we do have similar sweets and I love them. In Poland, we call them 'galaretki" or 'żelki'.

Aqui no Brasil nunca vi ,mas vou tentar fazer ,parece ser muito bom.
Se ve delicioso! ♥
In my country Uruguay, there is a similar recipe, "fake lemon pay" It is made just like yours with lemon juice instead of orange and poured hot on a tray based on templates or vanilla, as they are called in yours, then to the refrigerator and before serving pour meringue on top or whipped cream according to taste. The templates can be replaced by some fine pionono.

Hello Alma thanks for sharing the comment, it is good to know that you have something similar , I am glad that you like it thanks
just made this and its pretty good! definitely make sure you very finely grate your orange zest and i would personally recommend adding citrus acid . i havent tried that but it could definitely be a little more tart imo!

@Oye That is a good idea. I love the taste of lemons and with the sugar in this recipe I feel like lemon will balance the flavor better than orange.

@@skylarmccloud4080 last I checked gum drops are made.....in the shape..... of gum drops. They're literally talking about a candy called orange slices. If you're in the US, literally any grocery store, convenience store, dollar store, and most hardware stores sell these in cheap plastic bags with a red paper coated top for 2/$1 (sometimes more depending where.)
