    there’s a variety of jobs you can be assigned at boot camp. Big gear(storage room), laundry, scribe, etc.) I happened to be late chow. Early/ chow is pretty much you and a buddy staying at the squad bay and making sure everything is neat(sweep floor, fix racks, secure weapons) during late chow i found myself having a little more privacy than the rest of the platoon.(WHICH IS VERY HARD TO GET) the platoon would leave for chow and we stayed behind and then early chow came to relieve us and we ran to chow and eat. Usually you cut the line because they expect you to be back before the platoon. it’s not much time maybe like 20-25 minutes but it’s something when you barely have any privacy

    Kev / great points! Forgot to mention that info! I was in what we called “super squad” basically just super janitors 😂 making sure everything was extra clean and the racks were tight. It was awesome because I wouldn’t get fire watch and also had early chow aswell

    I graduated boot camp 21 yrs ago, glad to see that it hasn’t changed much. Best advice i can give is try to keep your head down and take it one day at a time. I personally liked Fridays as it was graduation day and you usually got to see a little eye candy those days. For the most part though you were so busy with everything you didn’t have time to think about much extra. Oh and mess week sucked (which is funny since i know manage a restaurant).

    Hey man, I just had a video idea. I’ve looked and looked for videos about uniforms. I’m in the process of joining right now and I’ve been really interested in finding a video showing the different types of uniforms. Where the different types are worn, for different occasions and such. Where patches and ranks and stuff are placed. Regulations on uniforms and stuff like that. Thanks man!!

    John Barriball I recommend just keep preparing physically (aim for that 18 minute 3 mile) try to aim for 15+ pull ups, and max out crunches. its not much you can do that will save you from getting slayed. Often times we got messed up for other people’s mistakes. Just try to be ready physically cause it’s very demanding

    Idk about you guys but lots of us trainees in boot camp went to church just to get away from the companies so we can chat, fraternize, etc. those that stayed at the companies were told to clean or possibly get smoked. So they would only write letters whenever the Drill Sergeants weren’t around

    sooprfrek12 It’s really not that bad, I will say it’s gotten softer compared to a couple of years ago. For instance they’re now required to give you time to eat in the chow hall and they don’t completely trash your stuff nearly as bad as they used to. You’re also guaranteed a full 8 hours besides fire watch which is one hour. You also get an hour of free time every day and on Sunday’s you get four hours of free time unless you wanna go to church each religion service is about an hour. Just pay attention to everything they say EXACTLY how they say it and yell loud and be fast! Utilize the recruits in your platoon because teamwork truly makes it easier! :) if I can do you can do it

    MCT you learn the basics of being 0311. So the saying goes "Every Marine is a Rifleman" which is complete BS. Not to be a dick but coming from an 11 i can say MCT have it easy compared to ITB. But it makes sense since you guys won't be the ones out in the battlefield stacking bodies...at the end of the day we need all you guys to support us. Just know that yall are looked down upon within the infantry mos but it's all fun and games

    Bro, don't worry about the academics, I barely made it through highschool and I got through that shit in boot camp with no problem, the academic portion should literally be the least of your worries in boot camp. I think I only saw one recruit fail one of the written exams in my entire company which says something. They drill that knowledge into your brain everyday. They will make you scream Marine history even when you're waiting outside of the chow hall to eat, same with hikes etc. It's literally fool proof, you'll remember it believe me. You should definitely focus on the martial arts training though because it's a graduation requirement to pass it and receive the tan belt. I personally suck at retaining knowledge and I barely passed it. I believe you have to know how to perfectly execute at least 35 techniques perfectly in order to pass. Saw some people get dropped for that stuff cuz they didn't pay attention at all. But most people pass that shit too. As long as you pay attention you have nothing to worry about, believe me.

    No limit but don’t expect to be writing in boot camp all the time. Remember you are there to become better not write letters. The first phase you might be writing letters but shit gets real very fast and you have to worry about making sure you’re squared away in your one hour of free time

    the bathrooms are shit. there’s no door covering the stall so when you shit everybody can look at you which sucks if you’re a shy shitter LMAO but if you don’t care then that’s good. either way you get used to it. Same with showers you get used to just being seen, no one really cares

    Honestly I just wonder how females deal with their periods? I mean where do you put your used tampons and what happens if you bleed thru?

  • @almighty_salt9648

    @almighty_salt9648

    4 жыл бұрын

    I heard Army females have to put the used ones in a ziplock bag and then into their pockets if there is no where to dispose of them. Also heard the DS make them carry around clean tampons and pads just in case someone needs one then someone will be able to help them out. Probably the same for Marine Corps boot too. Not sure about bleeding through, be you’ll probably just be made to wear them until you get back to the squad bay or get a chance to change. Good news is, most females don’t experience a period because of the stress their bodies are going through. If you do have it, most have a very very light one.
