I usually have “good Marine” advice but I would say this is an exception. Boot camp is a highly controlled environment with less than a hand full of times for fun. The 2 fun things you can do are malicious compliance which in boot camp is just compliance to be honest and having people on the out side make things interesting so if you were to get a letter with your rank as general or your letter was thick enough to be inspected by the DI who then finds the envelope stuffed with ugly nudes, you get the point. Your platoon will have many laughs they would not have otherwise. The import thing to remember is you will not get in any real trouble for doing what you are told or for the actions of civilians as long as you follow the rules on your end and don’t keep any thing your not supposed to that happens to come in the mail.

Don't write or read any letter till you finish the crucible just focus on getting through bootcamp study your history i had a guy in my platoon who hot really home sick he made it to training day 33 then he told our senior drill instructor he had depression and got send home he got a code 3 for frundlimist now he wants to go back I told him should of kept pushing forget the letter fo us on graduation that's it chow to chow from 5 30 am till 12 pm then 5 30 pm then the day us over thata for 13 weeks 😀

Not much, the glasses they gave me were kinda hard to adjust to, but not too many issues. Just make sure you bring your own glasses because you won’t get the government issued ones right away

sandboxx is awesome i had a friend who graduated 26 june the only non sandboxx letter i sent was to give her stamps and it took three weeks to get to her and for me to get letters i only got two

Prince Angelo Baybayan they provide you with all of that at the beginning. Then you’ll be able to buy your own shampoo, razors, soap, toothbrush etc

I don’t recommend sending care packages In bootcamp. Drill instructors will make you open everything in front of them, and you might not get to keep those items. You can get soap, conditioner etc in bootcamp. So there’s really no need for that. Care packages are more for the fleet, deployments. I don’t know if it’s any different for females, because I was in an all male bootcamp so I’m not sure about that aspect.

i have a question, so some people say it’s okay to send small selfies in the letters and other people say don’t because they can feel and etc. i already sent my boyfriend a letter with a small printed selfie in it, it’s thin but you can feel some kind of difference in different parts of the letter. should i be worried that he might get in trouble for the selfie i sent him?

Linda Laine the drill instructors will give them all the mailing address info and let them send you a letter. Just make sure your son/daughter knows there home address so they can send you the first letter

Simeon, thank you for that info. I got notification my partner send request to connect on Sandboxx, I accepted and wrote like 4 letters in the past week. The notification came in receiving week with all company and platoon number. I have a question - I was told plt number is changed a lot during receiving week. What if this happened and I am sending letters to wrong plt number? Will he still get it delayed, or not at all? i have not received anything yet from him, he is finishing his second week now at Parris Island. And I am getting him stamps in my letter on Monday, thank you for that info!!!
