I don't understand what could be wrong with some people but it has to be them not being happy with themselves, I'm referring to the 3 thumbs down. I'm sorry it just made me really angry for some reason to see that. My son is going to MEPS next week and I'm so happy to find out about sandbox. I have a real short attention span so I almost didn't click on the video because it was 11 minutes LOL, but I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it all the way through and I appreciate you sharing this part of your life with us, as it is scary but it's good to know there's so much information and knowledge to be found from families and loved ones who have gone through it. You gotta relax and trust your relationship... think about it your BF could be saying the same thing about you back home! Don’t compare your relationship to other peoples online or what you read online. All you can do is be open with your feelings and having level headed conversations with your BF. Before my wife left we both sat down and went over expectations for each other. So when you speak to him try that. And see where his head is at

Thank you for this. My daughter enlisted Navy , passed officer exam and now waiting for the committee to see which boot camp she will be going too. We know someone that told us about this app after 4 Long weeks before we got the first letter and 5 weeks before first phone call. So im trying to get prepared for my daughter how to use this app.

What happens if a recruit receives mail the first week then stops receiving mail all of a sudden at bootcamp

my boyfriend just left for Airforce BMT in Lackland (San Antonio, TX & we live in South Carolina) Sunday and arrived at the airport in TX last, where he gave me his last phone call. I was sad & it was a very quick phone call, but i knew it was coming soon and I am so proud of him! his time at BMT will definitely build us individually & as a couple. we been talking about writing letters & me sending him pictures of us & his family at BMT (with Sandboxx), but i’m not sure how to get the information from his base like his flight # & everything. does anyone know how they received their recruit’s information and how long it took? could I call someone perhaps?

Hey girl! my boyfriend left for navy bootcamp on June 2 because of the pandemic they are making them quarantine for two weeks when they first get there and they will not be allowed to send letters out which sucks but I did end up getting a call after a month of him being gone and the letters came soon after so it might take a little longer than two weeks right now but they will be in soon!

I heard if you have your vaccination card, the recruit wont have to take the 2 weeks quarantine. I haven’t heard back from my boyfriend who went to Navy bootcamp this week.

Idk if you still need this info but they told me to make it a collage in a collage app then upload it in sandboxx. Cause technically you can only send one picture.

Hi, Rachael. We only print the letters in black ink. We do print out the emojis you include in the letter also. 🙂

Hey Maddy, It can take a while to hear back from a trainee at basic training. They often have very little downtime and don't always get to write back immediately. Hey so my wife is in Navy boot camp now and she’s gotten a few calls home and I’ve asked the same question on why I haven’t got any letters from her she told me that RDC’s and petty officers hold mail privileges if the division performs poorly throughout the week. So trust me and try and understand that our recruits are at their mercy. Sometimes they just don’t have the option or choice.

@@kaseyhentz7301 first official phone call was the night she arrived at fort McCoy for quarantine. Than second call was probably a month after for a good 30mins than another call after battle stations. But from what my wife told me it really depends on the division’s performance! If they do great during the week the officers may throw them a bone and let them have a extra call or two. But all together I heard from my wife 3x Good luck and stay strong! Once your sailor gets to “A” school they will have their phone! So trust me it’s gets better!!

@@kaseyhentz7301 to answer your question about letters you’ll get a call before you get a letter honestly! Your Bf will have to write you first and he won’t get his mailing address until after P days which is processing week. So figure 2 weeks quarantine than another week to process than you’ll wait for the actual mail to arrive to you. My suggestion would be don’t use the sandbox app! Petty officers hand out mail and my wife didn’t get 13 letters I sent through sandbox because the mail PO was so slow sorting mail. My suggestion would be write a bunch of letters than go to your local ups store buy a box and put all the letters in there with some stamps, envelopes and pictures (NO SNACKS) that way the mail PO doesn’t have to sort X amount of letters they’ll just give your sailor that 1 box with everything in it! TRUST ME

My boyfriend is going to marine basic training and I have two questions. #1.Does it matter if I use lined paper or blank paper? #2. Can I include pictures in my letters?

Pictures are okay! Wallet sized photos are recommended, it will make for easy and safer storage! Also, send him a Ziplock bag to keep letters he receives and pictures in if you can! And lined paper is okay too!

I'm kind of confused I hope one of you can help me guys 😔. My husband just left like 2 weeks ago and he was able to use his phone because he was in quarantine but today he started his training, he sent me an address but he couldn't explain very well because he was not able to do phone calls and they wanted to take his phone so texted me a picture with the address.... Cco, 2nd Plt Savages 3-60 IN BN, 193rd IN BDE 5500 Marion Av Fort Jackson, SC 29207. But he said... Put the address just like that but change the number to this C-313. What I don't understand is if I have to change the Cco and put C-313 instead or it is another number? And also I have to put his Rank but I don't know it because he didn't tell anything about it. Can somebody help me with this?
