I've been a fan of this show since S1E1. I, too, read that same Reader's Digest article and, since then, have been intrigued and enchanted by the historical mystery. In this hurried, worried, workaday world, how nice to watch a group of people who overcame obstacles in getting along and now pursue the peaceful (or not so peaceful in days gone by) course of history. I love to count (and lose count) the number of times the word "interesting" is used. I enjoy Gary's "top pocket finds" and "bobby dazzlers." I look forward to the digging, boots on the ground, the endless frustration yet to have hope spring eternal in the hearts of the participants and audience alike. I hope there is a "real" treasure to be found and will happily enjoy the mysterious pusuit of its whereabouts. Thank you History Channel & TCOA fellowship! Now: bring on Season 9!

I love Oak Island mystery!

I love this show and really couldn't care less if they never find "treasure", the treasure is the history they are digging up that is fasinating...love the brothers and all the crew..can't wait to see this season and what they find...

I honestly think at one time there was a treasure but it's been found by now. But I also love just watching them find the old stuff. The one thing that fascinated me the most that never gets talked about is the 400 year old bones 100 feet deep. Don't know if it involves a treasure but something crazy was going on.

Well said and totally agree. Many people that comment on these comments are negative in nature due to the fact they havn't found a huge treasure. I suppose its a reflection of the times we live in and "i want it all and right now" attitude. I personally agree with you and love the history they are digging up. And just a side note, most archaeological endeavours take many years and lots of money before they "find" anything substantial. It takes a long time to even understand what they have discovered.... cheers.

No and they never will. One of my all-time favorite shows though. I am just hoping to learn what was buried on Oak Island and by whom. It's apparent that whatever treasure Oak Island held was tied to something very elaborate and of great value.... a knowledge and wealth only certain secret societies would have possessed. I am sure these secrets were passed down which would explain how events apparently took place over periods of time... including someone at some point coming to collect whatever was buried there. No way someone went through such great lengths to bury something only to leave it there for a bunch of guys to dig up centuries later.

Anything they find goes straight to the historical society and their name becomes historical.

I love Oak Island, I think there is more than one moneypit. They are going to find at least one.

The swamp still has secrets. If there was a ship sunk there, it explains the roads coming away from the swamp. The treasure was unloaded off the ship and then the ship was destroyed. It was carted off into the tunnels.

I used to watch it a lot now I watch skinwalker ranch and blind frog ranch on discovery channel

I love the show, watch it sense 2015. Truth is even if they found the treasure they won't be able to admit it or display them for the worĺd to see! Its verbiden by the..........?

watched few episodes and then never looked at this show again. this guys have no charisma at all. they get "excited" and they are so hyped like me when i am about to fall asleep. and nothing really happened in all those episodes. i really do not understand why is there 9 seasons of this nothing really happened show
