Thank you! But the mystery is, some things (not singular) happened at this specific location down through many centuries. The sophistication of the seawater drains and the fact of the coconut fibers is stunning. The enigma of the disappearance of the Templar fleet is real. I have to watch until the end. I remember being in a waiting room when I was a kid reading the Reader's Digest story on Oak Island. It was so fascinating to me. The Templar's have always been an interest also. Yes the editing causes a lot of repeating but I still find what they show us very interesting. It's history and learning about that is interesting.
With all the drilling, whatever they do find will have a lot of holes in it.

To dig that deep and find human activity, regardless of how long it's taking, is historic and incredible. There is a structure put there by people that can only indicate something was buried. People don't dig that deep and work that hard for it to be insignificant. There were no such things as heavy equipment or power tools. It had to be done by hand. So, to put that much work in, someone was hiding something of massive importance.
It really isn't about a treasure it's the actual historical past we are learning about!
jokes aside, clearly its a historic site of some kind of activity

Exactly. Besides they’re chronicling the process. If they do find something it’s all documented how much they have spent to find it since the government wants its share. If they want reimbursed for time and labor they need all of this.
@Phloptical
Ай бұрын
I would imagine if that site had anything of real value, the Canadian government would have claimed that entire island long ago and they wouldn’t be allowed to dig with heavy equipment. there would be teams of archeologists on site with hand trowels sifting through that mud and dirt while cataloging every piece they could find. As it is the only pushback they get from their government is from the environmentalists to protect the ecosystem when draining that swamp.

If they are finding all of these features over the years and decades upon excavation beneath the surface of Oak Island, I wonder what might be concealed/hidden beneath the untouched surfaces of the nearby adjacent islands. Dan Blankenship believed that the adjacent islands played a role in the Oak island mystery. I understand that they cannot excavate/treasure hunt by law on any of the adjacent islands, but at this point they should reach out to the provincial government (i.e. the Premier's office) to see if a professional agreement can be reached to legally explore and search the adjacent islands "with the respective island owners permission" in an attempt to solely get archaeological answers to solve the Oak island mystery with the express understanding that anything found/uncovered on said adjacent islands be turned over to the province. The goal at this point is to completely solve the Oak Island mystery and not to get rich by finding treasure. Mr. Dan Henskee said exactly this in a media interview many, many years ago.

There has been more than wooden pieces found in different locations on the island. I find it interesting that Roman coins & other artifacts have been found that pre-date the original searchers 250+ years ago. I wouldn't be surprised, if eventually more is found to substansiate earlier settlements, if only briefly. North American history might end up being changed. I remember reading the Reader's Digest article in the 1950's, when I was a kid! Who knew then, fast forward, to 2012/2013, that history might be changed.

Why is it that Rick always says OKlets call it a day when it seems there is all kinds of daylight left and they are right on the verge of a major discovery. Don't underestimate Mr. Billy Gerhardt. He's as tough as nails. He's the man and "he can dig it" !
We have a 40 year old mystery on our land. Wood, dirt and rocks just scattered and buried everywhere. Seriously though, the ship pieces in the swamp stuff is just flotsam from the ocean, over centuries. The other stuff found relates to an ill conceived ritualizing of planting the seed in the “new world”. And…indeed, someone may have stored some minimal treasure there from time to time- it is gone now.
Don't misunderstand me: I love this show. I was interested in Oak Island long before the TV show. But, will they ever find treasure,? I'm talking a chest full of gold, or scrolls from the library of Alexandria??? I wanna fast forward to the end already!!!!!!😊

It is not "treasure" per se and "whatever it is" was not meant to be recovered.
When you think about it, if they were digging all these Tunnels they would have thrown the extra dirt they had somewhere so making a swamp is an interesting idea. Wonder if they will ever find it or if it's just chasing their tail the whole time
It is always a pleasure to listen to John Edwards, and iam excited to see what results John's work will produce on Oak Island. This show keeps getting better with every season, and iam quietly confident there is more than one treasure site buried on Oak Island, that is waiting to be found.

I enjoy the show because of the mystery and historical aspects. I just wish they would stop repeating things over and over again. I could narrate the show at this point. I want more meat, even if it means a shorter show season. Oh yeah, they cant shorten the season. The show wouldn't make as much money from advertisors. But I could think of a lot more interesting things they could show us or discuss. They could find a way to delve into more history and how things are linked. More about Vikings and their lifestyle, Pirate history, even more about the Templars. Ancient Archecture, how cultural groups interracted. There is so much history they could be teaching and exploring to help solve the mystery.
