    I visited an aquarium once and observed some sharks swimming for a while; I amazed at how well she is able to mimic their style of swimming -- they almost seemed to just let the current take them where they wanted to go, with seemingly only needing to wiggle of the very tips of their tails and fins to steer themselves or push through the water and none of the back-and-forth business of the other fish.

    omg, for me it's impossible, I'm really beginner in swimming, yesterday I was trying to breathe properly while breaststroked. I was trying to do it every my third stroke, and it was hard. I lacked for forces, air. When I inhale, I let lots of water to pour into my mouth... So now I know, what I need to: not breathing, but collecting lots of air in my lungs and swimming with it. But without any joke it's incredible! I don't know, what to say, it's so awesome, I'm speechless. This woman is really cool and strong and I am doublemotivated to develop in the swimming by this video!

    I really like that she does that barefoot in her bare feet 🦶 👣 no fins, and how she’s so close to the floor underwater all the way on the bottom. I also think that she’s a breath holder, and with some more practice she’ll be able to do this for twice as long and for twice as many underwater breathless laps. Excellent technique how she swims on the bottom like that. Great job 👏 👏 👏

    So that was 75+ meters? Incredible! It’s been about 14 years since I’ve swam 50 meters underwater. The “easiest “ was with big fins doing a mix of flutter kick and dolphin kick along with arm strokes. The hardest was like her, no equipment, doing a modified breast stroke, almost kissing the bottom of the pool. However I took far more strokes than her! She’s very smooth! I’ve gotten back in to serious swimming, 2000-4000 yards a day. I’m thinking of adding underwater swimming again. Any suggestions so I can do underwater smooth and not struggle? Thanks

    Wow this is amazing Less effort, good breath control however, how do you manage to stay under water? Do you empty your lungs or sth? I get to the bottom of the pool but I can hardly stay there as I just get to float after about 5 - 10 meters I use under water dolphin kicks and sometimes free style flutter kick I noticed here she used breast stroke kicks, was that the secret or it's just me not having a hang of the technique just yet?

  • @levelevefreediving

    @levelevefreediving

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Fabuluje, Well there are different dimensions to answer your questions, but all of them has to do with freediving technique. To stay underwater effortlessly, be sure to pay attention to neutral bouyancy. You can learn how to set up your neutral bouyancy when taking scuba diving lessons or freediving lessons. Nevertheless, it means to hold your position underwater at a certain spot, or a certain depth (in the case of pool) and not sinking or floating. Normally when we do apnea we have our lungs full. It’s dangerous to hold your breath with an empty lung (unless you are a trained freediving athlete and know what you are doing) because then you will have no oxygen in your body and can cause blackout. So to set up the neutral bouyancy means you need to carry weight that can counteract your positive bouyancy (forces that make you float: air in your lung, wetsuit, body fat…) Neutral bouyancy only makes diving easier in terms of holding your position. In order to dive longer you need to do some apnea training including CO2 table (static or dynamic), relaxation and breathing techniques. It’s very normal for people to be floated in the water, however, the bouyancy is not always positive , once you pass your neutral bouyancy depth (depending on all the factors we talked about), you will enter “negative bouyancy “ and start to free fall. This happens in open water under a certain depth. Although it sounds fun (and it is), always find a certified freediving instructor and avoid to empty your lung in the pool. Or do crazy apnea contests. Also, I won’t encourage you to add weight to yourself. Back to your question, it’s normal for people to be floated in the pool, you should not feel agains that as long as you are practicing “swimming”. It’s good to practice swimming, kicks and breast strokes, some of the best freediving athletes were very good swimming athletes.

  • @levelevefreediving

    @levelevefreediving

    2 жыл бұрын

    I’m doing DNF (dynamic no fins/ dynamic without fins) which is a class under pool freediving. The posture is a bit different from the swimming style breast strokes, but yes, the framework is the same. We need to be very careful not to arise water resistance. This is also the biggest difference between freediving and swimming. Since the air in our lung is so precious, we need to find a balance between energy expenditure (oxygen consuming) and duration (apnea). In most swimming competitions, the measurement is speed (time), but in Freediving competitions, the measurement is “distance”. I hope you can bear with me will all my talks. Just bear in mind you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s just not comparable between the two sports. Be safe.
