Dmitry Bivol Using Sharp Rhythm | Breakdown

In this boxing analysis video, I take a deeper look at Russian Light Heavyweight, Dmitry Bivol. In particular, I analyze his fantastic use of using his own rhythm to pick apart his opponents.

It's really sad to see casuals disrespect Bivol because he doesn't 'finish his opponents' or fight 'big names'. If you're a fan of boxing, you're a fan of Bivol. It's almost unfair how good his footwork and his left hand are. The movement of his left hand makes it seem like he's fencing with it.

Bivol mentioned at the end that he has a "soviet union style". You can check a channel here on youtube called "Frolov's Boxing". The man teaches Soviet-style boxing. From your description, I think that you will enjoy his content and the style a lot, it's incredibly fluid and dynamic.

Bivol's style is so simple and straight forward yet so effective and powerful. Simple in and out then pressure 1-2 to break a opponent
@rustygear447

Simple is the wrong word. Footwork is the most difficult and complex thing to master in boxing. Most fighters even elite ones only know how to fight forward. Rarely anyone can fight backward like Bivol. To my eyes, Bivol's style is much more complex than anyone else.

This is absolutely not a simple style. If you've ever boxed, you know. Not that hard to get into, but a pain to master.
He’s maybe boring for those fight fans who look for blatant aggression. For me, his skills and movement - ability to read opponents - animal speed of reaction - perfect combination of reflex defence and lightning attacks - are a joy to behold. This is the art of boxing v fighting.
Bivol’s background is from the Soviet school under Isaiah. He passed away 2019 but his son carries on the school in Saints Petersburg. He has YT channel & U can watch the soviet boxing training in the 90s on youtube fyi.

IMO Dmitry Bivol, with his "impeccable judgment of distance" is the next most exciting boxer to watch (now that my idol Pacquiao is retired).
I’m glad someone understands Bivol rhythm. I’ve been explaining to my friends that Bivol rhythm is underrated. For casual fans he looks like he just throwing some punches and combinations. But from ringside it’s very hard to predict what’s Bivol move bec it’s very random. Bivols combinations of his punches and footwork of in and out and his feints makes him very hard to read. Not to mention Bivol is well all around boxer. He has power, defense, tremendous stamina, ring IQ and EQ and can take a punch.
Power is the most overrated and misunderstood in boxing. Most of the time a guy loses it wasn’t because of the lack of power, it was the lack of versatile offense and IQ and shot placement. Fans overlook the 2. Finishing ability is also different from knockout power.

It's a shame Bivol missed an awesome career due to poor agents and nearly zero exposure earlier on... Perhaps the best boxer, technically and wonderful to watch working opponents... Now in his 30s and with such dangerous experience, the best opponents will avoid him until he's too old and passed his prime

Bivol style is amazing and this video too
He should be a big star and had 2-3 huge big money legacy fights in Las Vegas and Madison Square Garden by now. The fact that he hasn't is an indication of how weak a lot of divisions are in boxing.
This gentleman, Dmitry Bivol, is a fine boxer and a credit to the sport of professional boxing.
He’s just a sound boxer. Smart, strong, quick and good footwork. He knows how and when to turn it on and off.

I can't remember someone who was effective that far outside, his jab as someone noted looks like he is fencing, but his timing is remarkable. It is not that he isn't fast it is that his timing is better than his speed. Canelo looked bad against him couldn't figure out the rhythm. Impressive boxer.

If people say Wilder's right has a life of it's own, they should watch Bivols's left.
Bivol's style is unique. You can be inspired by it but it is impossible to reproduce it perfectly and still be as effective as he is. Bivol, like many fighters, has adapted his style according to his qualities (intelligence, reflex, speed and mobility). No one can deny it. Bivol is an extraordinary boxer.
He doesn't take chances and that exactly what his first coach told about him. He is a really nice person, however that is not going to bring more belts to him

If you mean he doesn't take chances to sit in the pocket, you're correct. But you don't have to do that to win fights that way. For the fans it's frustrating yes, but from the 'boxers' perspective it's spot on what he is doing!
@Jetpegyr
2 жыл бұрын
@@BoxingLife to sit in the pocket is right, but it is one side. Another one that his coach told that he will keep just one belt without attempts to win the other. He needs a person he respect who will actively motivate him to do this. His existing coach is not able to do this

ok but what if you never had any rhythm of any type? Like is there a video on how to get rhythm first and then how to maintain it in music, dancing, boxing, bed, etc.? Like I have no understanding of what rhythm is in music, I'm not musically literate, not a dancer either, and I'm no musician so you can imagine how lost confused I am in trying to figure out what rhythm is in boxing and other stuff
@BoxingLife
2 жыл бұрын
Every fighter has their own rhythm. Some better then others! I plan to do a video on this eventually so hopefully it can help you out further. But getting your own rhythm takes time, you can’t just get it over night. That’s why when you watch beginners, they look all over the place when they first start…no rhythm or ability to change rhythm or identity the opponents rhythm.

What do you get when you mix a Romanian with a Korean? *Bivol*
If Plant can land few on Canelo then for sure Bivol can....pretty sharp shooter punches he throws pretty accurate
Bivol defeat Alvarez by UD
He fights like he’s done taekwon do or karate before...
Bivol needs to prepare his inside game vs Canelo. Canelo will probably fight inside to his advantage.
I wonder how Floyd would handle this kind of style

А вы видели реактивный левый крюк от пояса , в бою со Смитом он это продимонстрировал, Смит едва устоял !!!
Bivol, definitely Bruce Lee. İ think his idol Lee.
bigger version of many pacquiao
The combination of the eastern fundamentals and American boxing brilliance is deadly. That’s why most Europeans who have gone to the USA to train have dominated. That’s why I cannot understand why AJ never figured some5hung so obvious. He only had to look at history. Even recent history is full of examples, the Klitchkos, Kovalev, Fury, Lennox, now the latest wave. It’s absolutely career suicide what AJ has down by sticking with McCracken and basing himself in the Uk. I think it’s too late for him to rescue his career. Usyk will beat him again and he’ll be scrapped. He might con some people that he could beat Fury and make a tonne of money whilst getting schooled. Then he will walk away a very rich man.
