Hi Wayne. Do you think the action 4 will get the same audio features as the action 3. On device backup? Connecting 2 mics? Do you think the hardware of the A4 isn’t maybe as advanced as the P3? Would love to hear your thoughts.

The reps on the DJI forums said thawed are hardware limitations that prevent the OA4 from connecting to 2 Tx, so we’re stuck with 1 Tx only.

All bugs, its most likely inefficient start up routines in the start up. My guess is they are using a old android phone OS they adapted to work on a camera. They ported a newer version for the OA4 and thats why we got fast charging and ability to use mic and power at same time.

Well, Wayne, you're a young man, as are many Internet content providers. So, bug vs under-innovated? Those of us in the other age bracket hardly register a frown anymore at the computer/photo industry releasing products without admitting their shortcomings so that they can start getting revenue with them. Let the consumers whine/rant as they encounter these shortcomings we knew about but had to get the product out the door anyway because the competition is ahead of us, because we need capital, because we're always going to be finding bugs, devices are more complicated these days, blah, blah. As the consumers report these problems we'll first say, "Well, you're the only one reporting this so it is user error." Then when social media ramps up against us sufficiently about that problem where our sales lag, we'll admit it may be a bug and we'll fix it in the next upgrade that consumers will need to buy from us... because the competition is ahead of us, because we need capital... I think software companies were first to adopt this strategy many, many years ago and then hardware companies realized they could increase the size of their marketing departments and take advantage of it also to the benefit of their shareholders. Shareholders who are often you, and me, and the next guy- all of whom are the same guys who are paying and repaying for these same products that are always somewhat lacking. Feel the snake swallowing its own tail yet? In the end, well, there is no end, the circle just continues. Pessimistic, jaded, or just fact? Two facts are: Everything is usually better than the previous version of everything, so we're all enjoying some pretty good stuff. And content creators get to make a living announcing bugs and under-innovated products. The world turns. We have to laugh about it, right? 🤣🤣

This is the truth, and +2 thumbs for those indentations indeed. Marketing and sales sets the dates for product releases to keep the money rolling in on a steady stream, devs and technicians scramble to deliver *something* at that date, well crossing their fingers that the hardware is good enough for most issues to be fixed «in post», in software updates, if enough people complain - very simplified, but partially true in todays market. Standards are half-ass implemented due to lack of time and/or budget. But it’s not a new thing: for computers back in the 80s and 90s it was not uncommon to open them up and find jumper wires soldered directly to the circuit boards to fix issues discovered after stuff went into large scale production, and was only properly fixed in the second or third revision of those boards - things are a bit more complicated these days ;)

The 10-15 seconds before aknowledging the usb mic *could* be a limitation, it *can* also be that the engineers and developers didn’t think that the specific usecase of instantly on and record is something users with external usb would do, the reasoning being «users doing ‘instant action’ aren’t using external mics» and thinking users with external mics are probably not in a real hurry so we don’t need the mic to register immediately and didn’t imolement the necessary hardware or external hardware checks for that to work. So it could be just bad programming (and fixable), it could be a limitation in hardware (probably not fixable) - but if the mics quickly register when the camera *is* on already it could be they just didn’t think to do the external usb mic check earlier in the quick record startup process because that use case scenario was never on their radar - you should reach out and check with them and get other youtubers to do the same, would be a cool experiment to see if they respond if enough people pester them about it :)

Superb videos. have been watching most one by one. Could you please guide me if the Osmo Action 3.5mm adapter works with Action 3 or not. I mean does the mic work while charging?
