DIY PVC Machete Sheath - How to Make Kydex Parang Sheath For Free

Ойын-сауық

How to make a simple PVC machete sheath / Knife PVC sheath.
Cut the pvc pipe to length with hacksaw, or your bushcraft folding saw.
Heat it up : heat gun, dutch oven, camp fire coals
Mold to shape
Painted it matte black for Stealth Camping
Inner tube rings to increase toughness and grip, reduce noise, and secure survival kit on it
It is a cheaper alternative than kydex, easier to source than acrylic, and more durable than a leather sheath.
As always it is a trade-off and all options provide benefits and flaws.
Essential items in case of emergency :
- back-up blade (kiridashi)
- lighter + ranger bands (fire starter)
- diamond coated file (for sharpening, not for nails 😆)
- tweezers for ticks / splinters
- 2 meters of paracord
This DIY MYOG works also for knife sheaths
Gear used :
Dewalt Heat Gun

Thanks man ! Got an idea for the belt loop ? Bought one Tramontina with a handmade pvc sheath that had the end bent into a belt loop. It was fragile and broke. I just thread some paracord under the rubber rings and sling it in my back.

@@ARAW-__-I filed a notch on each side of the sheath, tied a loop in a piece of paracord for a belt loop, wrapped the paracord in the notches and crisscrossed the ends across the sheath a dozen times and tied them off. If you pull the wraps good and tight before you tie it off, it will lock into the notches and hold. I also drilled a hole in the bottom for a leg tie.

I think you nailed it ! For the time being, I just slid big innertube rings. Then threaded the paracord underneath. It holds perfect. Your way may last longer, though !

@@ARAW-__- My username is exactly that because I follow the raw carnivore diet. In other words, in 99 percent of cases I eat raw meat and raw offal, for example raw liver, which is a natural multivitamin, and I also drink fresh blood if I can, which is a natural energy drink! I'm a 58-year-old man, I switched to this diet about 4 years ago for health reasons, but since then I've really loved it. And since then, bushcrafting, survival, prepping and the like have become my hobbies. Anyway, I'm an extreme minimalist, I live on 14 square meters only, including the bathroom, and I've been sleeping on a hard surface for about 26 years, i.e. I don't have a bed. I try to fit everything I own into one large, 100-liter military backpack, and possibly another handbag. I'm not there yet, but almost! Anyway, thanks to my diet, I lost weight (without fasting!), my pre-diabetes is gone, my back doesn't hurt, my skin doesn't itch, my deep depression is gone, and in general, I feel like I'm 30 years old again! For some time, cavemen have been my role models. I also eat certain insects, mostly raw. Last time I caught a shrew, skinned it, gutted it, and ate it raw. It was far tastier than store-bought beef.

Wow so much useful info ! Thx for sharing. I started eating once a day, and mostly cutting off carbs and pre-made food from my diet about 8 years ago. Now I eat carbs in small portions once a week. It's the survival and fighting that led me to this diet, it's all intertwined, but not much raw meat for me. I do eat organ also though. It's a great thing to reclaim control of your health, and like you, my standard is early humanity. Like, no we did not have to take medicine for diabetes because it's a by-product of our current food habits. Namely sugar, and vegetable oil. I do eat fruits, but no industrial sugars. Have a good one my friend !

@@ARAW-__-Yes, I also have the "slogan", that "IF MAN-MADE: DO NOT EAT!” I note that I fell in love with this way of eating so much that I even wrote a book about it. Its title is "Vegania". Despite its title, it does not promote vegan eating, quite the opposite! It is science fiction, but the dietary advice described in it is correct from the point of view of the carnivore diet. In short, the story is about how there is a planet for vegans, its name is Vegania, and a young man who follows the (raw) Carnivore diet arrives there... So everything is set for conflict! For the time being, the book is only published in my native language (Hungarian), only the raw translation is available in English, someone who is a native English speaker should correct it... Maybe I will find someone to do it at some point. Who knows... Anyway, in order to preserve our state of health, it is also highly recommended to learn the appropriate stress management techniques, I solve this by starting to deal with Stoic philosophy. It helps a lot! I recommend you to take a trywith it! In any case, among natural peoples, at least the respect for Nature and the acknowledgment that one must accept things as they are, and not constantly "interfere" in everything, but to live in harmony with the surrounding world, was widespread.

Stoicism is great, I read a bit about it because I've been hearing that I'm stoic since childhood :D I too have a great interest with minimalism, out of financial necessity, but also it clears the mind. If you look at my Overnighters in the "Outdoor Adventures" playlist, you'll get a sense of my mostly carnivore diet 🤤🍖 I do not speak Hungarian, but your book seems like an interesting read.
