Another beautiful film, my friend! Loved the visuals and sound, or course... super smooth vertical cameral movement from the pan. Solar ignition, chopping, sharpening, excellent cooking... love it. And that trailhawk/Bushman combination is fascinating! 8-o Bravo, my friend! 😁👍👍
That’s what I’m talkin’bout! 👍
My man you gotta try it ! 😁👊
Great video and fantastic visuals. Keep it up!
Thanks Siddesh ! Great to see you back brother 🙏
Man oh man, but that looks tasty! And I see you have your.. Trail Hawk? Is that the right name? At any rate, this looks and sounds beautiful, and I'm looking forward to watching the full video. 👍👍
Hi Ryan ! Indeed, CS trailhwak it is ! Still made in Taiwan, looks good but I need to test and customize it a bit more 🫡
@ARAW-__- Sounds good! I feel sure it'll serve you well. Tell me- Have they stopped painting the handles with... polyurethane or varnish? The first thing I did was remove that stuff from mine. It was a blister factory, initially. 8-/
@TheShurikenZone Yes it seems so ! I sanded it a bit already but was pleasantly surprised to see they didn't varnish it. Varnishing makes sense for off the shelf products tsht will not be properly stored and transported. It also makes sense for your everyday guy that won't care for his tools, as if you let your wooden handle tools lay on the damp soil, they will absorb water and rot. This is convenient as people who don't take the slightest care of their tools usually don't use them enough to get blisters 🤣 I'm not hating anyone btw, as I'm often regarded as not taking care of my tools (which is false, I just don't mind a bit of rust here and there)🫡
@ARAW-__- Right you are, across the board! haha Still, I'm glad they're providing them without a finish, now. Have I told you about the finish I cook up, for use on my bokken, bō, tool handles, and so on?
@TheShurikenZone Absolutely positive you did not !! You bet I want to know 🥷🏼🫡
Full video online 🫡 Bushcraft, camp, hiking, and some throwing 🥷🏼👊
Masterfully executed, you created another beautiful episode!
Thanks Ervin !! Means a lot coming from you ! 🫡

Yay!
Before I even watched it ! ! 😁
@@ARAW-__- Hehehehehe
I can hear myself in the future..”I should’ve just bought the Outback.”
@Lucky_The_Slingshot_Guy That's the one I kept in the end ! The grip feels less rubbery, colors are more natural, and it's a tiny bit longer. 🫡
Ouch! 😱🤣 Major critical fail! While that hawk is designed for breaching, I’d even seriously question it’s durability in a hard-use breaching application. I’ve got a love-hate relationship with SOG. In a former life, we used select SOG tools, but for mostly for utility purposes. I appreciate SOG more for their iconic history than a first-choice tool. Back then, too, the make and quality was much better than what they offer today.
@blackhawkbushcraft I previously owned a sog tool but can't remember which one... Anyway, yeah, this one failed completely... they didn't even respond to my email. Bought a CS trailhawk in the meanwhile. The few CS tools I bought were solid, but I need to push it a bit more before voicing an opinion. 🫡
@@ARAW-__- won’t respond on a warranty question? Man, shame on them!!! I haven’t used or owned the trail hawk, but love the design and I like Cold Steel. Hoping that hawk is a much better tool for you. A while back, I was given the CRKT Woods Chogan and that little hawk has held up great. I don’t carry it much though, but it’s been a great tool when I’ve chosen to pack it.
@blackhawkbushcraft the woods chogan actually have been recommended to me ! But I went CS due to positive past experiences and lighter weight 🫡
And not even responding to a warranty claim is truly speaking... I won't do business with them ever, I'll just ask again for a replacement until they give in.
@@ARAW-__-makes sense. 👍
Man, that was some richly beautiful fatwood! Also, your vids are top notch and well made-nice, professional touch.
Not to mention, the food looks incredible! I always appreciate folks who show that enjoying the outdoors doesn’t mean that you must strictly consume needle tea, watercress, and timber ants. 🤣 I’m not at all dissing one’s ability to forage for edibles, but you actually CAN enjoy a good meal AND spend time in nature. They are not mutually exclusive. I’ve had my fill of pine needle tea drinking videos, especially when you know off camera they’re likely stuffing their faces with granola bars and Big Macs. 😄
@blackhawkbushcraft Yeah, fatwood definitely saves the day when all is wet ! For the professional touch, you made my day, I'm giving it my all 😁 My early videos were definitely requiring less effort 😅
@blackhawkbushcraft Food is important ! My videos relate more to a vagabond context where you buy food in town, then get to the woods to spend some quality time 😌 Foraging is great, but I know far too little to showcase it, and it is dangerous if not properly applied . Also, I am close to civilisation, so I won't fake the Viking scout or 1800s frontiersman vibe, I'd feel silly doing that. But some van play that part, no hard feelings either, just not my cup of tea 🫡
@@ARAW-__- haha! 😄 Viking scout! Love it! 🤣 Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m loving your videos, man. They’re creative, unique, and the way you showcase your element is exceptional. Very happy to have crossed paths with you, my friend. 👍
@blackhawkbushcraft Likewise, man. Nowadays, people claim blunt stuff every time ("I tried THIS in the Woods ! You Wont Believe What Happened") just to get clicks. Well, a normal, knowledgeable dude is what I want to support 🫡
Love it, bro! 👍 Great vid! A small shovel is a great tool and underrated by way too many. Way to highlight it.
@blackhawkbushcraft Thanks, man ! I carried the CS SF shovel for years before getting this one. To me, a light duty, long titanium shovel suits perfectly my needs. I can complete it with a machete if I need chopping power (which I rarely need anyaway)
@@ARAW-__-that’s awesome! 👍 Looks like it’s serving you well. Yeah, I’m familiar with that little CS Spetsnaz shovel. It’s the one I’ve carried a time or two…or three. 😄
@blackhawkbushcraft that CS one is great ! Absolutely love it !!!
Fantastic looking camping spot man, food looked absolutely delicious! 👏👏
@ervinslens thank you Ervin ! Campfire cooking is the best 🫡
Which did you choose?
The big one, only because it is less flashy. The small one was perfect in size for my use. 🫡
Thanks for sharing this 👍 Good Morning 😎

big spoon
Sister, I had that exact idea, a fitting sized spoon for my wok 🤣
@ARAW-__- pair it w/ your microscopic blade & cutting board, and youre Set 🤪😂
@lantanacamarada The totally rational cooking set 🤣
Funny and tactical work !Brother!👍👍👍
😁 thanks brother 🫡
Full video is on my channel: Another overnighter in the woods ! 🫡
Bro. You're gonna start a delta fire and REALLY cook that thing haha
Always cooking meat in the woods 😁 I was out in the forest this lunch, met the biggest cane corso I ever saw. The size of its head 😳
"When all you need is just a little more pan real-estate!" 😁👍👍 I'm loving all these shorts, brother.
SHTF back-up tactical pan ! Most versatile pan, that is not listed as a cooking implement 😁
@ARAW-__- AMEN! 😁 That shovel is a spectacular piece of equipment, especially in your case, where the local regulations stop you from carrying all the tools you'd like. 8-/ But on a brighter note, the nail short is up, should you wish to witness hardware store shurikenjutsu at its... weirdest. haha
@TheShurikenZone oh, I think I misguided you, brother ! I still carry blades 🤣 In my area, it is legally justified by the activites I engage in. Main reason is that it will handle fire management and digging, leaving my cutting tools do only the cutting tasks. Also, this shovel allows me to carry a stick with a metal piece at the end even in the most restrictive settings though : while travelling for example.
@ARAW-__- Ah, thank goodness. Somehow, I got the idea that such tools were even prohibited under circumstances where they were necessary. I had this horrible thought that the gendarmes may have shaken you down, and told you that they'd better not find you with a machete again. haha But indeed, saving your blades from digging is a much happier cause, indeed; digging is about the worst thing for a blade's edge... just a step removed from trying to cut rocks. 🥴
@TheShurikenZone Yeah I'm testing some new tools (videos will come) and already dinged the edge heavily while throwing it... Actually met plenty of Police, Military that saw my blades (machetes in some cases, but they were looking for drugs or explosives) my belief is that you should always be able to explain simply what you're doing, and why you're doing it. They're trying to size up the unknown person in front of them, by trying to make their job easier, all goes smooth. Been controlled dozen of times... In almost every country I set foot in 🤣 I don't know how I should feel about it 😅
wet rocks have a way of humbling me onto all fours when i have to trek through them, clenched just looking at this and thinking abt a sprained knee 🙈 camp looking slick though (in the the "nice layers, incredible fire starting skills" and "thats really wet" way) rain ambiencee, cute camp companion 🕷
Sometimes I get a good scare on those rocks, I'm trying to be more careful 😅 I was carrying dry birch bark (collected on previous, dry hikes) but starting fire as if you were unprepared is the best exercise: you'll learn how you fare with your back against the wall, yet with a safety marging. And on top of that, it forces you to keep track of what you carry and what's available around you 🫡
Ooo mama... I love seeing this, brother... but it makes me nervous. haha Have you tried holding the blade steady, parallel to the ground, edge up, in your left hand, and holding the brick like a puck sharpener? You know- Just acting like you're sharpening an axe, essentially? One day... your thumb may thank you for it. 😁👍👍
I figured it is not sharp enough to cut me yet 🤣 kidding, my nail acts as a carch guard 🫡 I'll have to try the puck technique. I've put hours into sharpening, but I'm not good, I can get it barely razor sharp, in the lower razor sharp league if you will 🤣
@ARAW-__- I'm sorry, buddy... I couldn't hold it back. I blame all the spoon carving, and the continuous honing of tools, to terrifying places in the higher echelons of sharpness! 😅 Ooo- Spreaking of not using the ideal tool for the job... I have a short planned for tomorrow, that may be interesting. I'm going to throw nails. Not big nails, but little nails... like 5 grams. Fingers crossed that I can come up with something worth watching, eh? 🤞
5g nails seems... definitely not my level, and 100% worth watching ! 🫡 Yesterday, I was in the woods, various stuff including big construction nails, and I wish they were bigger and heavier 🤣
@ARAW-__- Hehe... I think you're doing well, my friend. You're still relatively new at this, as of now. 👍👍
@@ARAW-__-You can sharpen a knife with anything you pick up, which is a great and required skill! How awesome! brother!❤🎉
Everything is relaxing in this video❤ Edit : Except for that weird Tajine😭😭😭
Thank you Loveless 🫡 It is definitely not traditional 😅
This is a beautiful scene. The sound of that knife hitting the tree is spectacular! 😮
This is my first training session with that knife. It was during the 3 days camp 🫡 This is a cool thrower, and thick, too, so it'll make a good wedge 😁
@@ARAW-__- Aye, there are all sorts of practical uses for a knife like that; it was an excellent addition to your gear. 👍👍
Ohhh billy ❤
Now, I know Pickle and Guacamole would be staring at this wok like soldiers on a mission 🤣
don't forget titanium is flammable! 😅
You predicted one of the future videos 🤣 just like that 😁
Congratulations on the shovel. I looked at this one myself but I passed on it cuz that pin looks like a weak spot. After you've used it for a while let us all know what you think about it like a gear update in a few months. Anyway my friend enjoy yourself out there looks beautiful Where You Are
Thanks, Charles ! It is incredibly beautiful but not remote 😟 You're right about the shovel. The pin is the weak point. It makes a rattling sound because it does not fit properly. It also doesn't work every time, but I could work with that. I bought a 6mmbolt and lock nut today that fit a bit better. It is a 7mm hole, but I couldn't find 7mm bolts... Anyway, I'll keep using it and will make an upgrade /useage video 🫡 I absolutely love the concept of a small, long, and light titanium shovel already, though. That one can't chop, can't pry. It is definitely not an mpl50, but it is so much lighter ! To me, it is perfect for managing a small fire 🫡
Ooo... This is a wonderful video, on several levels, my friend. It looks beautiful, it sounds absolutely enchanting, and your Filipino arts are on wonderful display. Well done! 😄👍👍
Thank Ryan ! I'm a beginner though, never formally trained ! 😁 So far I love a Ti shovel. Can't chop with it, it's quite wiggling, can't pry with or dig very hard packed soil. But it can manage fire, slash green ferns / grass / vines and is plenty fun to play with !
LOL ! Can you spot my hammock in the background ? 😅
@@ARAW-__- Brother... I can tell how much you love that shovel; it's palpable, to the point where I derive joy, simply from seeing you enjoy it! haha And I figured one of the main reasons you wanted a titanium shovel was so you could cook on it, without ruining it. ;-)
@TheShurikenZone haha 😄 yeah I'm gonna use that one a lot !! Especially in summer when carrying my cs shovel wouldn't make much sense. Although gimmicky, cooking on the shovel is still cool ! But I'd need a bigger shovel to cook my meals on 🤣 Two main reasons : can't legally carry a big blade in many places. This is not a blade 🙂 Digging always ruin my machetes' edges. To the point I stopped honing🤭 my honing skills. In this pine forest, I need a shovel for fire safety (building fire on a sand bed, gathering sand to extinguish a fire...) 🫡
@@ARAW-__- Ah, yes... I forget that the European blade laws are truly preposterous, often times; worse than the laws here, even. That must be tough. I have a we@pons license, which allows me to carry, openly or concealed, almost anything. But, due to some new laws, most citizens can carry a p!stol, however they want, without a license. That said, I believe the license is still required to carry concealed blades with an edge length of over five inches. Ah... sorry for the primer in Georgia laws, but I'm quite glad to have the freedom to carry whatever tools I want, and I never want to take such freedom for granted. 👍👍
Ooo... Looks good. A classic dish, to be sure!👍👍 It has made me hungry, but thankfully... it's breakfast time, here. hah
Haha ! I'd be glad if you try it out one day ! In any eastern deli you should be able to find sujuk / sucuk (pronounced soo jewk). Lemme know ehat you think if you dontry it out brother !
Lovely. That sound is just spectacular. 👍👍 And your videos are easily identifiable, from a thumbnail alone; your aesthetic is unique and wonderful.
@TheShurikenZone Haha, thanks, Ryan ! A logo to make them easily identifiable seems to be the new meta, but... I don't like it 😁 It was during the 72h camp... as soon as I got back to camp from a hike, it poured rain, hail, and some snow.
@ARAW-__- Whew... You made it back, in just enough time! 8-o
Ah! I have a tin just like that, but slightly bigger, that I've been using for charcloth for years! I think I got in in Europe, come to think of it. haha Beautiful video, as always, my friend. And educational! 👍👍
They're getting kinda rqre but used to carry sweets ! I love this format, especially the ones with a tight shut lid (no screwing thread)
@ARAW-__- Yep. I feel like mine may have contained mints. haha But yeah- The lid closes super tight, and that has to be my favorite feature of the thing. 👍👍
@@TheShurikenZone I think they were mints as well, that's just my lack of vocabulary showing up 😁
@ARAW-__- Ah, pshhh... You recall me asking where you were from, aye, based on how good your English was? Well, there you have it. haha Plus, I feel pretty certain that you can speak at least three languages, total. Probably more. Meanwhile, I'm lucky if I can communicate in English. 8-o No, my friend- You do a heck of a job. And you'll probably never forget mints again, either! 😁
@TheShurikenZone Haha, thanks Ryan ! Writing is easier than speaking though, I'd be unmasked first thing I say 🤣

Spectacular aesthetics, sound, general content, editing (loved the sparks transition)... it's really such a delight to watch. Oh, and... What kind of spider was that? He was very big and gregarious! 😮 👍👍
@TheShurikenZone Thank you, Ryan. I'm very honored people appreciate the videos, friends even more ! (Broiled tilapia... =>??? will google that 😅) It was not as peacuful as the previous ones because of the rain while hiking, but that's life and for the last 2 years it's been fairly dry... You put it perfectly Ryan 🤣 He either wants to kill me, or is putting on a show to get me a hell of a video 😅
@ARAW-__- Hahaha 😁 Say... I just had a funny thought... I guess they have regular hotdogs in France, right? I can't specifically recall having seen them there, but then again... the sickest I've ever been in my life was when I was in France, so my memory is hazy. Anyway... You could have a hotdog emerging from the bottom of the frame, such that the swan could bite at it, a few times. Then you could examine the damage on the hotdog, to determine how uncomfortable a swan bite would be. haha I would watch.
@TheShurikenZone Oh man, how did you get sick ? How did you like France ? Yup there are ! Knackis are fairly common here, although I never buy them. Maybe I'll feed the damn bird... But if acts like a fool I'll eat him 🤣
@ARAW-__- Ooo boy... Well, first off, what I saw of France, I really enjoyed. But I got sick, in my first day there, and didn't fully recover, until I left the country. Ok, so... I was in the Louvre, and I started feeling a little funny. This went on for a couple hours. After seeing the Mona Lisa, as you do, I went to the food court, because I thought maybe some Sprite would settle my stomach. Well, shortly after drinking the Sprite, I became very suddenly and violently ill. Getting to a restroom was out of the question, so I stumbled to the nearest trash can, but couldn't even make it there. 8' diameter puddle, on the marble floor of the food court. Tried to catch it in my hat, but it was like turning on a faucet, full blast, with a bowl under it. 8-/ Yakked a couple more times, on the way back to the hotel. Once there... things just went downhill. Couldn't even keep water down, for two and a half days. I thought I was doing to d!e, but I was so miserable that I was ok with it. It must have been food poisoning. 🤢
@TheShurikenZone Wow ! ! Sounds excruciating, sorry you missed some of your time here. I don't trust most Parisian restaurants, they're often unsanitary, expensive, and just re-heat can / frozen food.
feel my cells trying to photosynthesize with this radiance!!! the bugs are thriving and even youre in a coccoon now, all is well 😌 is this the trip you got rained on?
Hi Natalie 🙂👋 Glad I could bring back some peace of mind, nature is truly amazing. This is the best kind of meditation, watching the surroundings and camp fire.... No rain on this trip ! Editing the rainy video as we speak 🫡
@ARAW-__- the way you set those birch bark twigs onto the fire!! little interactions like that amplify tf out of the beauty you surround yourself with, love it all! & looking forward to it- its 38C+ here and our wildfires are out of control, so it'll be nice to pretend its raining 🙈
@lantanacamarada Thank you so much, Natalie !!! Campfires are really something special, I'm convinced we are hardwire to gaze at them. I need to make a 30-minute long video of just that. It'll make a mock chimney while on the desk 😁 I recently learned that california has the hottest place on earth, I think it's in Death Valley. I always thought it was in the Sahara 🤣 Stay cool 🫡
@lantanacamarada I'll bring the rain in a few days, hopefully. But trust me, it was too much rain 🤣
@ARAW-__- please araw, im gonna start building camp around my screens if you do that 😂 LOL california geology is so surprising! my first field study was "the geology of death valley" and it only scratched the surface of everything i wanna explore out there. as usual, i won't shut up about it, so i'll put up a post with pictures soon! it's projected to break its own earthly record soon- over 54C! but ahh its so otherworldly out there with its geologic record on display. learning about the sahara as a child drove my love for deserts- now i get to study them, so life is treating me well! every time i catch that photo on your phone screen i take a moment to admire it ☀️☀️
Alright, buddy... I've been on the lookout for the hammock and the spider! The only thing this video didn't have was throwing. Otherwise, it ticked every box, including ones I didn't even know existed- Like the Michael Myers style POV attack on the mini watermelon. Hah! Spectacular! And the cooking on your fancy new titanium shovel! 😮👍👍 And don't think I didn't note your excellent firesteel technique.😉 So powerful that the handle came off. 😬 But yes- Everyrhing was beautiful, the sound was spectacular, and the content was very interesting. Tell me- How did you get that POV shot, along the ground? It was very smooth. Did you attach your camera to something heavy? Your shovel?
@TheShurikenZone Those first-person shots are cool to shoot Ryan ! 😁 Gotta say I love that shovel ! Still need to use it more, I don't trust reviews of brand new gear. But a Ti shovel has been on my mind for 2 years, and I wanted this particular one for more than a year. Oddly enough, that was not the spider *inside* my hammock. That was the sunset timelapse in a hammock, from the future, though 😁 Attach the camera to a pole (or tripod) and keep it steady with both hands and elbows against your core ! Works better with a gimbal 🫡 In my early videos, I did this shot with a tripod and phone, no gimbal, no ninja walk... It was jarring 😅
@ARAW-__- Man... There must be lots of spiders around there. 8-o Do you have may dangerous spiders, in France? I'm not up on the state of European arachnids. But yes, this POV along the ground was your smoothest yet, and no mistake!
@TheShurikenZone No dangerous spider here ! Some that pack a potent venom, but they're not aggressive at all 🫡
But they're still lots of small insects, and during that overnighter I saw a common european viper, could have touch it, but I took too much time drawing the camera it was gone in the bush 😫 I think it was the second time I saw one in that forest, fisrt one I grabbed it then pictured it 🤣
Birds chirping and overall atmosphere are so alluring, beautiful episode my friend!
