I rigged up a canopy on the side of my car for a nice relaxing night of #camping in the Pacific Northwest. A wonderful evening, with excellent food. My journey continues! I'm already at my next camping location as I upload this. Cheers everyone!
Happy #Thanksgiving to those of you in the United States 🍻

“I used to cook for two.” Steve, we can all see and hear your grief, and I am so sorry that you have to endure this. The fact that you continue to make videos is a testament to your character and resilience. You are an incredible human being and I wish only the best for you.

I loved watching him make real bechamel for the mac and cheese from scratch over a camp stove using a piece of firewood as his only kitchen utensil.
My favorite part of Steve's videos is that he doesn't pretend to be an expert camper with all this fancy gear, he is just a normal dude that loves camping.

@@jimengle3178 Jim, I am so sorry that your mom got subpar care. Unfortunately, it is very common in the US healthcare system for many reasons. I am not making excuses for poor workers, because at the end of the day we have a standard to uphold. I personally take that very seriously and I have always and will always give my 100% to my patients/clients, although I can acknowledge not all of us do. I truly am sorry about the quality of your mother's care, it breaks my heart to hear that as well. 🫶

Using a piece of wood as a cooking utensil and using the phrase "Camp seasoning" made me laugh. It reminded me of camping with my Dad when we were kids. He was the guy who would use a twig from the fire to light his cigarette when he had a Zippo in his pocket. (Except for camping, I don't have many good memories of my Dad. Thanks Steve for jogging one of the few good ones that I do.)

I have basically zero intention of actually going out and trying this stuff, mostly due to not having the time - this hits the spot, it scratches that itch like you wouldnt believe. You wouldnt think you could feel this vicarious about being camping through a screen but I do. Btw - I know its an old ass vehicle, but I have a 2003 Grand Caravan that with the back seats removed holds a shit ton.
We're thankful for you, Steve. Take care of yourself and know that you have thousands of people who care a great deal about you.
I love watching your camping with Steve videos ,of course especially the stealthy ones.I saw you said people asked you about a single woman camping..I am a 65 year old woman who now car camps alone in her Honda Pilot.I lost my husband 4 years ago .But I was not going to allow it to stop me doing what I love ,camping is part of that .I drove from Fla. all the way to Yelliwstone ,worked there for almost 8 months and drove all the way back by myself. If you love camping ,or getting out in Nature dont be afraid to just get out and do it ,even by yourself. As a single female I just am careful where I stop at and where I am going ,be aware of whats around you ,follow your gut.And get out and live your life. Thanks Steve for all you do.

What you said about having to buy everything portioned for families is something I struggle with too. It's hard finding stuff that's portioned for one person and usually when you find something it's pretty expensive.
8:30 I always love seeing what Steve's "bushcraft" fire starting will be each video. 😄
I like your idea of a minivan. A minivan gives you the flexibility of using it for those big trips to the hardware store (if you fold down/take out seats), room for camping gear and ubiquitous enough to not be out of place parked on a city street. An AWD version would be helpful too.
Steve ... thank you thank you for hours of happiness and joy. You're respected and loved by many. 🇨🇦 thank for entertaining us

Around 15 minutes you mentioned the best vehicle that would allow you to do what you want, and I would recommend you get the next size up Toyota 4runner. I purchased one myself a few years back with the main purpose being to use it for camping/excursions and it has been absolutely perfect. Not too big that it can't be maneuvered driving everywhere but plenty big enough to comfortably sleep in/hold all my gear on all my trips. Gas mileage wouldn't be as good but you'd definitely get the room and utility out of it.
This is what I miss. Steve cooking outside. Thank you Steve, wish you all the best.
“No way! This is gonna work?” Loved it. Beautiful site, amazing trees and views. Super glad the pot didn’t fall and that you didn’t get a splinter from the stir stick. 😂Thanks for sharing! Happy All American Holiday Thanksgiving !

I could really do going camping with Steve right now. Wish I wasn't so far away. Bless you Steve
You were talking safety. I am 64 and had drove long haul truck for 30 years. And I drove a van in expedited freight for a year before retiring. Before that, back in the 70's and 80's, I hitchhiked around the country. I lived out of my van for a while. I did what is called stealth camping these days. Back then it was just finding a spot to hunker down in. But yes, there are times when you can feel unsafe. Depends on the area you are in. But for me, about 95% of the time, whether trucking, in my van or camping, I felt very safe. Granted these days it can be different. But it all boils down to being aware of your surroundings. If you feel like the spot you are in is not safe, then by all means move. And to me, granted because I was a trucker, but truckstops are usually very safe to be in. Even in the big rig, and even the cargo van, I would get to a spot, then sit there and watch everyone and the surroundings. Try to get a feel of the place. But I always carried a good size knife and a metal bar with me, just in case. But for the most part, like I said, 95% of the time, I felt very safe. And yes, I know it's different than with women. I understand that. But, it's the same procedure. Be aware of your surroundings. Be safe, ya'll.
I had to go 3 months without watching a camping with Steve video and it feels so good to be back

I"m a 78 year old woman who camps, but I take my big dog, and a gun, and experience being around dangerous people. I retired from the department of corrections, and one thing that has kept me safe is - - - I TRUST NO ONE OUT ON THAT ROAD - - - NO ONE!!! And neither does my dog. Some of the serial killers I worked with, were the nicest men you would ever want to meet. Kemper that lopped off about 14 heads, is a very nice gentleman with a good personality.
I hope you are finding some peace in life. I have always went long time camping. In fact , I'd love to live just like that. You do find peace in this beautiful place ...God gives us the courage to keep going and knowing that we heal but in different ways, After losing my husband and 3rd son , I hated waking up without them, but I always keep front and center , what would they want me to do.. I think that daily. I have the hurt and angry about that and lots of why's .
