Even it's an arranged marriage, the bride needs to consent affirmatively. If she doesn't consent, the marriage can't go through. These sharia lawmakers(!) ignore/don't know about this very basic point. That's why when that first woman was saying forced arranged marriage, the judge(!) was confused why she was saying that her arranged marriage was a forced marriage. in my opinion people should READ an accurate translation of the Qur'an. Most of the English translations are watered down versions of the original in Arabic. People really should read the Qur'an to find out what it really says. It's shocking and violent.

Imraan, the reason why Muslim men are looked at in the way we are. Tradition vs religion, please let us not blur or even overlap these lines.

Britain has British laws. When you come to live in Britain, you live under British laws. If you do not accept their laws and you want to live under Sharia law, please leave the UK and go live in an Islamic country. Britain is not obligated to bend over and manipulate its laws to accomodate your cultural agendas. Just like Muslim countries never change their laws to accomodate other cultures.

Nothing can be done without the consent of the wife: she cannot be married without her consent, the marriage is deemed invalid if it’s without her consent. A women has the right to divorce unlike the rulings in Christianity. Please note that women are the highest converters to Islam...Islam has given women much rights and we are happy lady. As the lady in the video says culture is being mixed up with religion so some stuff u see here is cause of cultural issues and not Islamic ones :).

Islam allows a man to have another woman. He can have up to 4 wives at one time, and he can have an unlimited number of concubines. A woman in Islam is only allowed 1 husband.

Studies PROVE that harshness of law doesn't have a positive impact on the crime rate. Its clearly seen in the United states, where there is no difference in crime/murder rates comparing states that Implementing the death penalty and states that don't . Besides that I think this institution is helpful for these communities and just reflects the reality of divers modern multi-cultural societies, honestly its better these people reach out to a reasonable schooler, than if they take law into their own hand, however they should just give advise and help but shouldn't be legally binding in anyway.

England is lost. No society with two parallel legal systems can survive long term.

in India there is a movement to have secular laws. Of course, there are fundamentalists on both sides who point fingers at each other. Even hindu laws (marriage, property etc) required modification and are not exactly the same as the british left it in India. The moment you let religious people take charge, we have patriarchy and old archaic and unfair rules that start to be applied.

The 27 year old man and his parents shocks me really. As I know you can‘t take a second wife if your first wife doesn‘t approve of it and if you can‘t provide equality. This is very difficult to achieve.

Feel disgusted how women beg, cry and have to wait months over months for khula but man can divorce in few seconds. Injustice at another level . Being man gives power and woman leads to helplessness.

My heart goes out to the woman in orange. I love that she knows she deserves love. As a Christian women are told to respect their husbands but husbands must love their wives. Also both only belong on body to oneanother, so this marriage does not seem aligned. I will pray for them to find peace through God's grace on their situation.

So if she wants the divorce she need to do lots of thing for it. If by contrary is he the man who asked for it, he just need to say the words three times to her in different times. Increíble humiliation toward the woman.

I cannot agree with Shariah Law in the UK or USA...…. These people definitely mix culture with religion and that is a huge mistake.

He knew about inbreeding and such, he was very wise and smart because Allah (God) told him all. Also, he recommended everyone to eat black seed, which cures any disease. The Quran also has many miracles that have just recently been scientifically proven like the earth is a circle and embryology (how babies are created) all revealed 1,400 years ago.

The only problem that he found was that the two wives live in two different countries and the husband can't spend an equal amount of time with both of them. Those "teachings" and most of the other "teachings" in the video are clearly degrading for women and those sheiks encourage and indoctrinate people to degrade women. Therefore a good way to incorporate those teachings into the British legal system is to consider them penal crimes.

Eatch gotta have her house, provided food etc, if he buys one a gift then he has to buy a gift for the others too, he has to spend equal time with them, love them all etc. That's why there's so little men that have more than one spouse. You need to be financially wealthy etc. And that would be fine for the time the Quran was written but I don't agree with polygamy at this time. Things are different now

The so-called "prophet" Muhammad had a total of 13 wives - but then told his followers they were only allowed to have a maximum of 4 wives. According to Muhammad, Allah "commanded" him to have those 13 wives (& he also had numerous concubines & slave girls). As long as the men are "married" to the women in the eyes of their religion (which means that some of those "marriages" are not legally recognised in the countries in which they happen - especially if those countries don't permit bigamy or polygamy) - then the religion does not consider them to be committing "adultery" as such - although the law will just see those subsequent "marriages" as adulterous extra-marital affairs.
