My mother just passed away 4 days ago. I been trying to remember this song since bc at 19 I joined the Army and she played this song nonstop bc she must've thought i wasnt going to make it back home. Well I did mom and for 21 years after I was blessed to have been by your side. It was your time to go home and reunite with all our loved ones we lost. Im missing you like crazy momma. You made my life worth living and iit's a honor to still be your son. Your legacy will live thru me.

No. Its not. You're just not sleeping anymore. Things in hindsight seem better bc their's no anxiety no fear of uncertainty. You already know what will happen so you wouldn't mind going back. But you had problems back than too. Or maybe you didn't and you just miss your childhood.

Mister Smith To me the world looks different even with my eyes. The people were different the children were different the old folks was different even the air that you can’t see looked different it was more of there was a brightness to everything there was a meaning behind everything it was more positive to me people was more genuine it’s really hard to explain it was just so different. I could probably sit here and try to explain it but I can’t there’s really not words that fit what my brain is thinking. I know that from my childhood up until 1998 or 2000 it was the best and then it kind of changed but then it was still wonderful and then all the sudden about 2004 or 2006 things started rapidly changing. Around me.

I had my first slow dance and kiss to this. I was in 6th grade and I asked the girl to dance and she said I was waiting on you to ask me. We slow danced and talked and she told me that she really liked me. I told her I liked her to which I did. We got closer when slow dancing. After the song was over she gave me those 6 second drive by kisses. SINCE THEN THIS IS MY FAVORITE R&B SONG IN THE WORLD. LOVE THIS SONG.

This is the real R&B I miss the old times
The most tragic part of my very caucasian childhood was seeing this video on BET (back when they played music videos) at 8 years old and then not being able to find a single adult who knew the group and where I could find the single on cassette. Then several years later Samantha Mumba covered the song and it was like returning to that magical moment that I first watched this video and heard the song.
This is one of my mom's favorite songs she is currently dying from cancer as we speak we still have weeks and possibly months to spend with her thank you momma for showing me this gem and for everything I love you ❤️😭

God, this song takes me back to 1998! My mama passed away August 17, 1998. I heard this song and broke down. I can’t believe after all this time has passed, it still makes me cry. There’s certain songs I’ve tried to avoid over the years. This one is still hard to hear. My God, I pray for all the motherless children in this world. RIH mama! N.J.S!

This whole ERA is BS. I mean nobody sings anymore without showing their fake butts & boobs. That's why some of these R&B Artist ain't hot no more. Like these girls singing refused to expose their bodies. Just like Deborah Cox, Shanice, TOTAL, AND Toni Braxton & Brandy. They was all great artists but the industry wanted them to show more than just their half belly's. That's just straight up pathetic how the industry is operating right now when it comes down to music and R&B.

@@kay22100 Life is a lot less stressful when you stop worrying about what other grown men and women wear and do. How they dress does not affect you in any capacity. Mind your business and let people live.
Omg I remember I had recorded this song like 3 times on side A and side B just so I could hear it over and over again. There was no repeat back then. Lol

I love this song. Takes me back when I was a child. They don’t do music like this anymore. This is before we had H.E.R, Ella Mai, SZA, and Muni long.
Still listening in 2K21..who else??🙋🏾♀️

In Kenya 2000's, we used to have a mature radio station called Classic FM, they used to air a full Divas weekend playlist, they never played classic hits but they brought back the memories..... Lately 🤸🤸🤸🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
This song just hit my spirit I had to come listen ❤
All these girls could sing and I love how much they can put their emotions into it. Feeling like everyone has fallen in love too after listening to it. The best are in the 90's to 2000.

I still love this song. It reminds me of when my boo mom sent him to live with his dad. I was dead. Cry😢 I was a teenager so I was super dramatic lol
it has been so long since ive heard this. i remember hearing it on my way home from school when i was in tenth grade. i went and bought the single. the accapella version is really good too. Me and my sister went out one nite, snuck out is more like it. she has an umbelievably beautiful voice, but she is so shy and so little. we lost a bet with some of our friends, and we had to do kareoke. she chose this song. she blew the house away. no one could have guessed that such a strong beautiful voice would come out of such a little person. so many good memories. i wish i could rewind and live it over one more time.
