Antoanetta, It is sad what is happening and much of this has to do with the drug cartels, which now also include extensive Asian cartels that are working with the Mexican cartels. This problem will extend to other countries and cause violent disruptions. It’s a different kind of war and exacerbated by stupid gun laws and a former US leader who has fomented much hatred and lawlessness. This can happen and has happened anywhere. Spain has suffered through its share of violence in the past. How long will this period of safety last? Who knows? Climate change. Violence between Russia and Ukraine with utter destruction of a country. Refugees terrorized and fleeing to European countries. We all need to do what we can to spread peace. Be kind. Be active politically. Get a second passport just in case (as I am). We just don’t know what the future will hold. Be well Antoanetta.

You are not exaggerating! Spain is awesome! I have visited 7 cities in 5 trips there including 4 visits to Madrid and one to Valencia. As a photographer, I have walked the streets at night while carrying expensive equipment. I have never felt unsafe and I want to move there.

I’m moving out of the US in a couple months and will never be back. I’ve always said, that it’s our “freedom” that is going to be the end of this country. You can’t have freedom without limits.

Last weekend I walked between 11 PM and 1 AM through Malaga. Thousands of people, all ages are on the streets. Bars open and chairs in the middle of the roads. It was unbelievable. Yes, you have little crimes like stealing your wallet, but that is as much as it goes. I could not imagine walking around my neighborhood in Las Vegas at 11 PM. I often feel unsafe walking to the grocery store at 6 PM, let alone at midnight. However, the news in America blows this out of proportion, making everybody walking on edge so nobody goes out any more. I lived in a very nice and safe neighborhood in Orlando, FL and Las Vegas, going out for a jog at midnight since the day heat was unbearable. I was the only one out! A huge problem in America is that people are easily influenced by news, ANY news and that they do not take the time to verify if it is legit. Thus, a shooting in one part of Las Vegas makes all of Las Vegas unsafe. I do not want to play this down, America in general is way more unsafe than anywhere in Europe, but the news and the laziness of the people are a big part of the issue.

It's worth noting that what you described about your jogging experience is exactly why people feel more unsafe. Compared to many other places, the sidewalks in America are often completely empty, even in the daytime. Even many big cities have parts that look like that. Everyone drives for everything. The result is that there is no actual sense of community, and you feel more unsafe when walking outside because something can happen to you (whether it's violence or even just an accident) and no one would see. And when people have the perception that "normal" people don't go outside, they fear that the only people who may be there are the ones who are up to no good. Basically, it creates a cycle where people are scared to walk around outside because there aren't any "normal" people around, but they are alone because "normal" people are scared to walk outside. So no one walks.

I agree, I'm not American nor have I ever been to America however, America is not New York, Chicago, Mimi, Los Angeles so I imagine so called 'fly over countries are far less violent than these big city areas

God bless and protect the children all ove rthe world and keep spain safe. I wish my kids could play outside like that with friends without fearing violence towards them. 😢

This is a great video! I’m American and my girlfriend is Spanish, born in Malaga. Due to our careers we currently split time between our home in Boca Raton, Florida and our apartment in Chicago. I can tell you the neither place feels safe. In Chicago you can be a victim of inner city crime and in Florida it is now legal to carry conceal firearms which without a doubt will increase the shootings since they also have a Stand Your Ground Law. We own an apartment in Fuengirola in front of the Sea and are in the process of moving there within the next five years. It is sad to say that all I think about is that I hope either one of us don’t get shot before we get a chance to move. In a few weeks we’re going to Fuengirola for three weeks as we do every summer and I cannot explain how hard it is to come back to the US every year after spending weeks walking late at night through the Streets of La Costa del Sol without having to worry about the threat of violence. And in all fairness, it’s not just the shootings that’s terrible here, it’s also the division, the open racism, and the anger of people which is ultimately destroying a country that I once was in love with. I really hope the US can go back to what it was when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s; I just realistically don’t see how that happens with the way citizens keep attacking each other over fringe political and religious beliefs. Once the day comes to move to Spain, the hardest part will be the fact that we have three children from previous marriages that are currently in University; I guess the next challenge will be to find a way to bring them to Europe which they all appear to want. Thank you for your content, I hope it reaches the right people and perhaps helps opens up some eyes, and more importantly I hope you don’t get attacked by angry Americans that seem to not be able to see the sad state of affairs we’re living at the moment…

Very true. I've lived in Chicago for the the majority of my life and haven't seen things as bad as in the past few years. And it's not just crime in the inner city. Crime and violence is everywhere in the city and the suburbs, even wealthy suburbs (like the Highland Park 4th of July Parade mass shooting last year, carjackings on the North Shore, etc...), Violence, craziness and chaos like that is what so many think is "normal" and happens all over the US everyday. I don't really feel safe anywhere in the America now. Planning to move to Spain next year and don't think I'm moving back to the US since it continues to only get worse each year.

@@fjp3305Our House is in Boca Raton which doesn’t really suffer from too much crime. I think in South Florida at least, the violent crimes are more segregated to bad neighborhoods or parts of Miami-Dade or Broward counties. The reason why FL doesn’t feel safe for me is because of the angry open racists which as of yesterday will be able to carry Concealed Firearms. I’ve been a gun owner since the early 2000s with no issues but somehow giving guns to basically anyone without background checks, etc doesn’t seem like a good idea and it is going to increase shootings between people in the streets.

@@hansonelYou’re absolutely right. We were here in Chicago last year’s 4th of July as we enjoy the summer here; I couldn’t believe what happened in Highland Park. We had plans to go out that night to watch fireworks but stayed in our apartment in the City and watched them from our roof top. Really sad to not live a “free” life cause of fear of another mass shooting. I just don’t understand why we can’t as a society get together and figure out how to solve this problem.

There have been large numbers of homeless in LA since the 80's. It has increased, but not like the news says. I live Mid-City and I don't see homeless every day. If you don't use the freeway much, you rarely see homeless. 🤷‍♀️

Compared to all other European countries I have been to, you see a lot of homeless people in Spain.

I live in the San Francisco, California area, and I approve your message. I don't like guns, but I applied for a permit a month ago and am still waiting for the decision. I guess only criminals here can obtain guns. I only want to obtain one for protection as this place doesn't feel safe anymore, and the system is useless to help us. Also, I recently injured my foot and have been in pain for over 3 weeks, but I'm trying not to go to the doctor because I know it will cost me thousand of dollars. I work as an engineer in Silicon Valley, but my health insurance is crap. I am so tired of this failed environment. I'm just saving up $ to eventually get out, and I estimate I have 3 more years of penance. I do see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is another country calling my name. Possibly Spain. Cheers!

"Criminals" don't apply for gun permits, they purchase their guns in the black market. I haven't been proud to say where I am from when I travel, but I am one of the good people. They can see by my example that there are many good people in this world that are good Americans. I just wish we can save our society. Our future doesn't look great with all this division and lack of education. We need to change course.

I’m currently working as a physician in the US earning a very comfortable $300K salary, I own a 5 bedroom home and have a wonderful job and family. But ever since Uvalde when I heard of how brutally those kids were murdered (they could not even be identified without DNA), I decided to leave America. I cannot stand it, gun rights are more important than human lives. I will not have my 2 year old daughter grow up in this place, nor anyone in my family live through fear. For now, all I can do is move to Canada. You cannot even call it a society where everyone is so distrusting that they carry a gun for self defense. Instead of building a better country, it is descending into madness

Guns don’t kill people only people kill people. When you ban gun you are only banning law abiding citizens from having means to defend themselves. The hero border patrol went in Uvalde used the gun from a barber shop to take down the shooter. The problem in America is initiated from drugs, Hollywood and the current illegitimate regime that used a pandemic to steal the 2020 election just to protect their own corruption such as Joe Biden and Hunter Biden’s dealings foreign gov and etc. the problem is not gun is the government and culture erosion in America.

I’ve been serving my country for over 20 years now, and as I get closer and closer to retirement, the US is not even in my mind on a country to retire. I don’t think that after 247 year our founding father would have ever thought that this country would be what it is now. I sometime question my service if its something I want to continue looking at this country the way it has become and what it actually means to be an American.

Forget about hope. Nothing will change here without a revolution. The stranglehold of the corporate oligarchs, the gun lobby, crooked Wall Street, and the Military-Industrial Complex is much too strong, and too many Americans have been brainwashed to believe that this is okay because it is "capitalism" after all and therefore, if not perfect, acceptable. They have likewise been brainwashed to believe that any form or degree of socialism is "evil." This nation is descending deeper and deeper into a cesspool of violence, warmongering, disunity, and dystopia in general, and "hope" is not going to turn it around. BTW, when I say 'revolution,' I am in no way advocating a violent one. I think that there should be a massive protest of civil disobedience, with strategic boycotts of many of the corporate monopolies, worker walk-outs, and other means of peaceful protest. But I can only imagine that the ones being protested against and their political lapdogs would do everything they could to counter it with some form of violence, and it would no doubt escalate from there.

Sooo, NOT ANYWHERE in US is horrible. Yes, compare to Spain, which is one of worldwide safest country, in more dangerous, BUT not ALL of US is so dangerous. I appreciate this video, as well as your many others, and your honest reflections on the abhorrent violence that America has succumbed to. I have subscribed to your channel. But mass shootings and gun violence and violence in general in this country are just the tip of the iceberg. What shames and horrifies me at least as much as the gun violence is the fact that over 50,000 Americans die every year from a lack of healthcare, and our politicians simply turn a blind eye to it, choosing instead to prioritize the profits of the insurance monopolies over the very lives of people. And few Americans even raise an eyebrow over this, they just accept it, as if it is right and proper that corporate profits should take precedence. I am deeply ashamed at the immorality and inhumanity of this. Then there is the growing number of homeless people, poverty increasing, tens of millions of people being paid poverty-level wages, and the fact that this country has become a global killing machine, declaring war against any country that does not kiss the a## of our corporate oligarchs. There is nothing -- NOTHING -- about this country that makes me proud to be an American. There is no sense of the common good in America, and anyone who even mentions the term 'common good' in a favorable way is branded as a "communist" by the conservatives and the corporate oligarchs who are running the show. I would leave this country in a heartbeat if I were better off financially, and I would shake the dust from my feet as I left. The only thing that keeps me here is that my modest home is paid for, and my SS check would probably not be enough to live on, even in cities and towns in Europe where the cost of living is lower. I am convinced that things are going to get much worse here before they get better -- IF they ever get better.

Have you tried renting rooms in your house? This is how I get money for travel. It's tax deductible too. You could then investigate places by staying in hostels and meeting people. I'm 65, been doing this since the age of 13.

I studied 1 year in Miami. After that it took me 4 months to recover from the deep unsafe, close to panic state of mind. I don't now how people can live with it all their life.

Are you against having any moral standards ? The reason why there is a corrosion in American culture is because the country is moving away from religion or just morals. People commit crimes without remorse

I don't feel that unsafe in US right now as you depict it in the video. Of course there are mass shootings, but they always are somewhere else and we know about them only from news. I feel completely safe in one of the Atlanta suburbs and have never heard of a single gunshot in the last two years. The only place I felt unsafe was in the very center of the city, but I never have to be there luckily. USA has lots of problems, but I don't think violence is the most common one. Although, I like your videos and dream of moving to Europe one day.

For you to downplay the violence in this country is ridiculous. Mass shootings, gun deaths and gun violence in general, the fact that over 50,000 Americans die every year from a lack of health care, the growing homeless problem, tens of millions of people working for sh#t wages -- all of these things exist and are getting worse every day. Like you, I have not been victimized by violence, at least not yet. But it is a FACT that too many Americans have been victimized by it, and this has become one of the most violent countries -- probably THE most violent country -- of all countries in the developed world.

I live in the suburbs too but not in Georgia and I feel relatively safe here too but I can't go to downtown which SUCKS. My church is close to downtown and instead of concentrating on prayer, I think about my safety. It is what it is. I can't take my boys to public school because I'd lose sleep thinking if they are safe both physically and emotionally. That's the reason why both of them have been homeschooled since kindergarten. The older one finished HS at age 13 primarily because he was homeschooled. I think you might be in denial. It's hard to believe that a country you immigrated to, has become a dangerous place, isn't it? Well, you need to face reality.

A great country like the USA? There is nothing "great" about this country, other than our GREAT income/wealth disparity, GREAT amount of violence (gun-related and otherwise), GREAT military (as in size and money spent/wasted on it), GREAT homeless problem (and getting "greater"), GREAT numbers of people who die from not being able to afford health care, GREAT ignorance and indifference to climate change, etc. The only way for anyone to be free and to enjoy a decent quality of life in America is to be rich enough to be able to BUY those things that every other developed nation in the world regards as basic human rights.

I think they are purposely doing this, on one side, they blame racism to allow nothing to happen to people who sell drugs or rob, they even give free money to them, so they can buy drugs. You can't blame them for the drugs but they are actually involved in allowing them in along with the environment. The homeless were bused to California.

I think that the crime is primarily in the cities. I live in Westren NY and I feel really safe.

The homelessness in arizona and the meth addicts are overwhelming. However, the USA should not ignore it. It will not go away. It has to be addressed.

I can't say for Spain, but here where I live in the UK, I've never felt unsafe in my entire life and I'm 44, and when I was younger, I used to stay out late at night in the early hours up to 4am, and never once had any issues, with just the odd pull up from a cop, wondering why I'm out so late, but after given them the reason, I move on without any issues. There are less safe places to be, just like there are everyone, but even then, the US feels a lot worse when it comes to safety.

No. It is not difficult to make friends in Spain. Learning basic Spanish will help you a lot and getting into exchange linguistic programs too. Joining sports clubs and community associations will also help you a lot.@@calvintam2

Sad but true , they still lots of good people in America, I love this country for giving me freedom and opportunities but I agree that America needs to change, God help us all ❤🙏🏻

I watched several videos and its kinda convincing.....my only concern is the humidity. Are the summers humid like Florida, Texas, Alabama, NY etc. Or are they hot but dry like Nevada, Idaho, or even in California. Im referring to Lisbon. Madrid, or Valencia areas.

The two Castiles are hot and dry in summer and dry and cold in winter. If you do not want humidity, avoid the coasts.

Lisbon and Valencia are humid. Madrid is very dry, in the summer the humidity can be in the teens. I've even seen it in the single digits.

America is not a country, let's talk well

The United States has a Supreme Court system that affirmed the Second Amendment (three times) to the extent that if one is law-abiding, has not been previously incarcerated for more than one year, and isn't mentally ill, he/she can take advantage of their Constitutional Right to keep and carry the handgun of their choice in most places where carrying firearms isn't prohibited by local or state law. It is the right rule to have, but the problem with this Constitutional Right is that if you have to use it to defend yourself against a violent unprovoked attack by someone who is (as an example) a felon, then it is likely that you will be dragged through a criminal trial by an activist prosecutor, AND convicted by an activist jury with political views that are in conflict with the victim of an attack, turned defendant in a political persecution. The reason why the United States is so dangerous today is because prosecutors and judges have chosen to release violent offenders with no incarceration, while at the same time, scrutinizing the law-abiding more severely and jailing them for engaging in self-defense if attacked. Police Officers will actually be dragged through trial and convicted of murder or some kind of reckless homicide for defending themselves against a deadly threat. There is a shocking element of anti-police, and anti-lawful citizen sentiment by those in government who are supposed to be protecting us, to the extent that criminals are taking full advantage of it and getting away with even acts of cold blooded murder. That's how it is today in the United States. I'm always hearing that you have to deter crime in order to prevent it. That is not being done here today.

If I came to Spain could I see a tall, gorgeous, belly-dancer like your interviewee? All of America is not messed up. It's mostly in "Blue" cities & states where the Progressive politicians have gone bonkers! I lived in Staten Island NYC for 50 years. Staten Island is still safe, even though NYC in genera; has big problems. In 1992, mayor Rudy Giuliani started a renaissance, continued by mayor Mike Bloomberg. It lasted 20 years. Probably the all time best times for NYC. Employment & opportunity high. Crime was low, especially for a big city. But that's over now and the Progressives seem intent on making the City unlivable. Rents are high. Crimes increasing. Jobs & opportunities waning. I'm retired now. NYC is not a good place to retire to. Too expensive! I had a plan to leave. My landlord ordered me to move out sooner than I planned. I moved to small town Pennsylvania. It's nice here. I miss some of the conveniences of NYC. My goals are: Pay off debts, save cash, travel to Mexico, Philippines & Spain. Then pick a new country to live in. One challenge I have is I have three (3) cats. Wherever I go, I plan to take them with me. In December 2020 there was a YT video series about moving cats (or was it small dogs) from Seattle WA to the Philippines, via Vancouver BC. (Air flights through Vancouver had best 'deal' for pets.) I've seen videos about moving cats to Mexico. It can be done. But everything is changed now since COVID Lockdowns. ANTOANETTA! What can you tell me about moving pets to Spain?

Being a NYer it wasnt all good times for all its citizens back then. I will agree for anyone retiring or not of a certain income it has become unaffordable. I believe accessibility and public transportation are what keeps most retirees but with more people educating themselves about viable options, I see it changing in droves.

It's not like the US were a paradise just over 25 years ago,is it? The US always sucked when it comes to homeless people and drug problems. The main characteristic of Europe is its strong social welfare, which prevents this kind of things. Obviously, there's no doubt that there are fentanyl (although you won't see a single zombie in Spain) and violence in Europe, but in very lower rates, due to what I said. And about violence, it's very difficult to have a gun in Spain. Even the starter pistols are forbidden to general population !!

Not everything in Spain is easy, you'll never make a lot of money, you cannot purchase lots of things or work in your dream job but the way of living is as shown in the video. As long as the Spanish people have some money to get by and can rant about the bad things of Spain, everything will be just fine.

Making such statement only shows how ignorant you are. I live in Spain and make a very decent living because I work hard and thrive to improve. It's just like any other country. If you check statistics you will see the reality of economics in Spain, which is much better than you think, mostly when it comes to PPA metrics.

In general Europe still gives you less opportunities than the US, or better, if you have a hugher education for career and success the US gives you more. Yet, some places in Europe (not necessarily Spain) are picking up (Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Ireland and some other Countries for some jobs). I think about that almost every day because this will deeply affect my future job (Architect). Anyway, I think we've gone from a situation where clearly America gave more opportunities, provided you had a higher education, up until 20 years ago, to a situation where objectively you can find a better situation in Europe (Europe is not necessarily the EU), or at least where it's not worth anymore to go away, because America may give you slightly more, but it's not worth the odds. But again, it really depends on what job you're doing and when, because God knows how will America look like in 10 years, and how will Europe look like in 10 years...especially those Countries which are too dumb to learn the lesson, like Italy, or those Countries which had 50 years of delay because of soviet occupation, such as Poland, Hungary, etc... the best alternative to many (especially in my sector) seems always more to be Australia, which seem to have all the advantages of the US without having the odds... in Europe we have seen in the last 20 years some Countries become extremely rich due to intelligent labour laws and good, fair, but not too broad tax system and efficient bureaucracy. Some other Countries refused to do so due to ideological grounds, and went into stagnation. For Spain it's hard to tell because before (up until the 90's) it was underdeveloped (not poor, but surely it wasn't like Germany, or France or Italy) so right now it's still benefitting of that residual growth, because when you're underdeveloped, it's easy to grow, exactly as it is the case for ex-communist Countries; difficulties arrive when you already are "1st world" and have to do even better: there if a Country is intelligent, it becomes like the Netherlands, if it's not, it becomes like Italy (still 1st world, but stagnating).

@@mattiabolondi9864 Making general statements is totally wrong. For example, when you say that Spain was 'underdeveloped' before the 90's you fail to tell the truth. In other words: You don't check facts nor social reality. Check facts and metrics: World Bank official statistics in 1975 showed Spain was the 9th biggest economy in the world with a GDP per capita accounting for 86% of the rest of Western Europe. In addition, when you state there is a economic edge to be achieved, you are not totally right for one simple reason: it is not about economics; it is about efficiency. Italy, as a clear example, is a country that after WWII did incredibly well all the way to the 90's, but not because the productive fabric was good or there were a lot of things to be done after the total destruction of the War - that was a very important factor until 1973, right before the Oil Crisis -. Back then Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Turkey or Japan lived in very rigid economic contexts where flexibility, adaptation and innovation where not that relevant, as most economies were driven by large state-owned companies that provided key services such as communication, transportation and so on and where each country played a role in the political and economic spheres they had taken on decades before. This was pretty much fine until the implementation of the € as a common currency in the EU and Globalization started to take off in the late 90's and 2000's. It is here where you see who could adapt better than others. In the case of Italy its insane beurocracy wasn't such a big thing before the implementation of the € because the Central Bank of Italy along with the corresponding government implemented carefully designed and subtle monetary policies to devalue the lira to make Italian goods and services more competitive. This was just steroids to the Italian economy because it deprived companies from the incentives of being competitive, innovative and better. It was just a way of making a quick buck, but not changing anything substantially, so no adaptation. Another example is Ireland, which according to statistics is on the way to become the wealthiest country in the world, which is totally wrong, as Ireland just lives off - basically - the fact of being a tax heaven. The disparity between GDP and GNP is colossal. This tells that the country has done very little to improve. It is just a legal platform for international corporations to make more money out of their activities in mainland Europe and it fears the implementation of the new European harmonisation of corporate tax, which will make the country one more in the EU and face reality once more. The party will be over. So, no adaptation. Something similar can be said of Japan, whose inability to blend in has made the country remain stagnant for 30 odd years. The industrial fabric of Japan is just that of the 80's: large companies that try to control the whole production process, from 'raw to sell'. They don't invest and keep doing things the same as they did 40 years ago. As a result, you see dropping GDP per capita levels and the inability to change because they don't want to or don't know how. Not to mention aging population, extremely rigid immigration policy... On the contrary, you see the US, which has always led a different model. This one has led to having more people wanting to set up businesses and not relying on the state. This is great for economics, productivity and flexibility, but horrible to make the American society cohesive and solid. The state does not exist - broadly speaking - in American daily life if it's not to collect taxes that are not to pay for efficient public transport, road infrastructure, health care or high quality education, but for the military and a few more things that don't make people's lives better As a result, it is just a ferociously competitive society where those needing some support don't get it and those who thrive are not at ease because they feel threatened and in some cases start to lose heart to keep going. Having said all of this, there are countries and regions such as Canada that have a very well balanced economic and social reality along with other countries many people would not consider such as Slovenia or the Czech Republic. They combine many elements that make them good places to thrive and live. Economics is not just about money. It is also about the way we are taught to see economic reality. This is always biased, unfair and objectively wrong. Reality changes, but we normally keep seeing the same.

@@Lily4444Sure. Spain is less than half the size of Texas. It can’t be the new home of millions and millions of people who prefer it rather than their homeland. The Spanish government should be tougher regarding inmigration policies. If I want to live legally in the US, as a Spanish citizen it’s way more complicated and expensive to do it in comparison with Americans who want to live in my country. It’s not fair at all. We should be as strict as them keeping in mind that we can’t compete with people who arrive here earning American wages.

Campare Spain to Bulgaria. Talk about your country sometimes instead of talking about the US all the time. Walk down the Ramblas in Barcelona. It's so safe. Make a video there.

In Spain, and Europe, murders are scarce. In Spain, civilians cannot carry weapons, with few exceptions, and they are highly controlled.

Maybe if America wasn't so busy making sure all the tax breaks and opportunities go to one favored group, things wouldn't be so bad. People get tired of being denied everything possible.

So, I have one question, is it possible for American citizens to go to Europe and ask for asylum? You are right, we are afraid for our kids safety in the United States. We have got to the point where the violence and fear of racial crimes rivals south Africa.

It is so painful to see what is happening to the US. One thing I also don’t understand is how many mentally ill people they have, is it from the food? The US made me a millionaire as it did for others so I love the country so much as well as others do. I will pray for the USA

It's almost imposible to get a gun "just for fun" in Spain... I think that's one of the main issues in the United States, where you can buy guns everywhere so easily. It's very ironic tho, cause Spain is also the 7th biggest gun producer in the whole world. I guess they are not producing their guns for their citizens.

Spain is 7th in sales thanks to the fact that Corvettes, Frigates, Helicopter Carriers, Submarines, War Planes (eurofighter), Technological systems for the army, mobility vehicles for troops in the air (Airbus) and Land ( VamTac and others), Intelligent remote turrets (guardian 2.0), Rocket launchers, Various ammunition for the army of Spain and sell to other interested nations......and they are sales to Governments of Countries for their armies... In Spain it is not 7th for selling assault rifles or pistols to its citizens or abroad......it is true that in Spain there is hunting and we have hunters with rifles and shotguns but it is very regulated...... There are some artisans who make very elaborate shotguns and pistols and they are sold to the public but always with a license......but to have the license, to own weapons in Spain the rules are strict, you have to pass some interviews and they have to be registered, follow safety regulations in their homes, and those carrying weapons are controlled by state security forces. I think it's not the same as what happens there.

I have enjoyed your videos, but you don't have to tear something down in order to build something else up. All countries have their own issues - yes even Spain. Maybe it's just your selling technique. Some advertiser use use sex, but fear is also commonly used. So maybe your just selling your services to Americans by making them uncomfortable. Whatever your comfortable with I guess, but I would lose interest in that approach.

I visited Valencia last Sunday for the first time. It was nice and the people were friendly, much more so than Madrid where I spent a decade in misery and loneliness. However Valencia not a very pretty city. The buildings are old with little charm but for me at my age the people are what's the most important thing. Friendliness and taking a general interest in others which is virtually non existent in Madrid makes life a lot more enjoyable.

To me, Valencia is a beautiful city, most of the buildings are perfectly refurbished, look at last picture of the video and these are definitely not the best. Besides there is the ciudad de las Artes y las sciencias. Absolutely amazing.

Depends on the city. Blame soft on crime politicians and prosecutors. I live in MN and I won't visit Minneapolis unless I have to. Cities like Elk River or Maple Grove are safe. A majority of gun related deaths in the US are suicides.

YEAH BUT ! If we are going to move every time a nation goes through negative periods we would never settle. I remember very well that Spain went through three decades of bombing after bombing by the ETA terrorist organization. Now it is different. The USA might be going through whatever but I am not going to change my ranch in Tennessee for an apartment in Madrid. Buy an apartment in Madrid for vacations? Maybe . I have been to Spain and it is awesome to visit. . But to live there permanently ? No. They punish foreigners financially way too much

I hate what's happening in the US, but its always been bad...it's just so overwhelming that it's spilling into the streets. America isn't perfect. The American dream is being taken by those thugs that feel entitled to something they didn't earn and take it from those that achieved success on their own merits. I see crime everywhere but America seems to be tragically falling into an abyss of crime.

Love your videos, but your comparison in this case isn't fair. I am US/German dual citizen and spent about half my life in Germany/Austria/Europe and the other half in the US. If you disregard the obvious issue of American gun culture and the associate problems, you have to look at look at the US as a blend of various states, some of which are very safe, some of which are not. Fact is that in the US your safety is determined by the ZIP code you live in, not the country. You simply cannot compare a 330 million US country to a 50 million Spanish population. Oregon is different from Vermont, which is different from NY state, which is vastly different from NY City. Having said that, Europe in general is more safe than the US, and I believe this is mostly due to the stricter gun control measure in place in Europe - but that's another discussion :)

How long has it been since you've been here? Don't believe everything you see in the news. I've lived in the same apt in L. A. (Miracle Mile/Mid-City area) for the past 17 years and I've seen no giant jump in crime. There are not homeless everywhere, although there ARE more than before. Attacks on high-end stores don't affect the everyday life of those of us who don't own businesses. 🤷‍♀️ I love my neighborhood in L. A., BUT I can't afford to retire here and I don't want to live in Lancaster. That's the issue, less affordable housing, which is being torn down for luxury housing. 🤷‍♀️

@@jal051 Lol. I live alone and have to navigate living in an apartment in the middle of the city, near a major intersection. I've ALWAYS had to be careful and aware of my surroundings. I think I'd notice if I were slowly being boiled, lol. Although I do expect things to get a bit worse around here when the Metro stop opens nearby, but I doubt it will be apocalyptic. If it is, I'll move.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that there are places in the world where people actually enjoy where they live. Why would anyone set up tables outside in America? It's not even the crime; it's just that the place is so damn ugly and boring.

The proper saying in American English is, you're looking through rose colored glasses.

It's a civilization on the decline. What worries me is how this has been allowed to happen shame on my generation and the one before it. You say that Spain is fine but walk around that shanty town on the outskirts of Madrid at midnight outside of Madrid of around El Casa De Campo late on a Friday night.
