Disney Millennium Celebration Super Bowl XXXIV Halftime Show

Спорт

Walt Disney World celebrates the new millennium with a Super Bowl XXXIV halftime show starring Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, and Toni Braxton! The show was inspired by Disney's Millennium Celebration and titled "Tapestry of Nations" after the Epcot parade of the same name.

This just oozes pre 9/11 cultural goodness. I recall there was a span of roughly 1997-9/11/01 where basically everything was about "being global"/"being together". The internet was just becoming big in that period and we were starting to see the benefits of interconnectedness. I recall several companies taking advantage of that with their advertising campaigns, etc. I think it was British Airways who began to paint the tails of their planes with different art from around the world, for example.

What you are talking about is neo-Marxism. This rancid ideology would go on to dream up hate-filled concepts like cultural appropriation, intersectionality, and white privilege. Literally encouraging everyone to look at the world through a lens of oppression.

Of course 9/11, of all tragic events, had to happen right when the world was getting all culturally connected. 9/11 then created this massive Islamophobia.

The Post-90s era was a short lived era in history. The Post-90s era started at midnight on January 1, 2000. As this halftime show and the man at 4 minute and 8 and a half minute mark showed, the new century and millennium was supposed to be hope of a bright future with new opportunities. All that hope and most opportunities, however, came to a screeching halt when the Post-90s era ended at 8:46am on a certain Tuesday Morning the next year when 19 individuals hijacked 4 planes and completely altered how the new Century and Millennium would come to be.

This is such an odd vision of the future (brought to you by Disney in a pre 9/11 world). Matt here. I played one of the stationary 'drummers' with a spiked helmet in this performance. The entire show was a single audio track that played on the air and over the speaker system simultaneously. All of the musicians and performers on stage were miming and lip synching -- for example all of the drums were equipped with silent, mesh practice heads. It was a surreal experience to be on inside of one of these big productions.

I was also a performer in this show - one of my favorite performances ever. (You can see my long hair flowing through the ABC watermark at 3:19.) I still have my music, rehearsal cassette, and polo shirt (which I wear once a year - on SB Sunday) but sadly my camera broke that morning so I have no pictures of me in costume. My favorite part is at the end of Chaos (the first "live" number) - it's actually a countdown in terms of beats in a measure. First measure is 8 beats, next is 7, next is 6, and so on, before a release measure and then the very hot fireball. (Starts at 1:42.) Thanks for the best quality upload I've seen to KZread. I have the show on several VHS tapes but no longer have a VCR.

It was a great memory, but as far as the show goes...ehhhh. lol. Definitely glad to have been a part of it though. I made my drum into a little table for my house. I bought one of the marching drums as well, but that's just sitting in my garage.

+Fabricio Crasher Unfortunately, we were separated from the "stars" and did not rehearse with them or even get to meet them. The only time they rehearsed the show was the Thursday night before the game where we did full dress rehearsals with the pyro (that fireball was hot), lighting, Epcot dancers (the puppets), and yes, the stars. Everyone was at that dress rehearsal...Except Christina. She had a stand-in. The first time I ever saw her was when the lights came up at 2:20 in this video, and the last time I ever saw her was as I was unplugging my drum and running to the tunnel to get off the field in time for the second half to start.

Lauchex Most people struggle with reading comprehension, which contributes to ineffective communication and it's no different in banal KZread comment sections. I never mentioned SB halftime shows before 2000 which is why I explicitly said every halftime show since 2000. My frame of reference is post-2000. Please go watch more illuminati uncovered halftime show videos. I can only assure you of the pain I feel being so smart and dealing with the challenged on a daily basis.

Drew Greene The Illuminati was disbanded in the 1700's. Talking about them like they exist today shows how paranoid people of today's society is. I would also like to say that your statement " I can only assure you of the pain I feel being so smart and dealing with the challenged on a daily basis." is quite offensive, First of all you have misused the word "challenged" challenged is referred to "mentally challenged" who as a people are very intelligent. People like Einstien was how poetically you put it "Challenged". and Lauchex was referring to the comment by Alex Breton. Now who is struggling with reading comprehension?

The Post-90s era was a short lived era in history. The Post-90s era started at midnight on January 1, 2000. As this halftime show and the man at 4 minute and 8 and a half minute mark showed, the new century and millennium was supposed to be hope of a bright future with new opportunities. All that hope and most opportunities, however, came to a screeching halt when the Post-90s era ended at 8:46am on a certain Tuesday Morning the next year when 19 individuals hijacked 4 planes and completely altered how the new Century and Millennium would come to be.

You couldn’t be more right. It was a beautiful era in itself. I remember it and I remember when it all changed. Nothing was ever the same after that. It was like the whole world’s energy changed - at least, it did in the west. There was just so much we weren’t aware of, and so much we were ignoring

@The Reverend Jim Jones Given your profile name I can't tell if you're trolling or not but I'll air on the side of caution and say yes. Regardless it was 2000 everyone was trying to be global and communal. It was stupid sure but it wasn't a ritual, Even if it was it didn't do anything Last time I went to the beach I didn't see Cthulhu. No ones come out claiming to be Satan. So lets for a second say it was it was pretty freaking useless.

This is most certainly a ritual, you really do not need any special esoteric knowledge to deduce that much. Now to what ends, who's to say? Disney does seem to be on trend to owning the planet in another century or two though, jus sayin'. Most of the big award shows have rituals as well, for decades this has been status quo, most folks are jus ignorant to it by design. I'm not a practitioner of the dark arts but I feel confident saying this was not a ritual to summon cthulu from the deep, there's not nearly enough blood, other bodily fluids and salt water involved here. Regardless, I don't think dannythemanny is in the Disney circle of trust to know what the hell they're after with this shit and if they're reaping any tangible benefits.

@@imtrashburnme7462 So seem to be putting a lot of stock into this one company neglecting that there are only a handful of media companies that basically own everything. People get so worked up because Disney bought Marvel neglecting WB bought DC back in the 70's. We all freaked out when they bought Fox forgetting that Murdock was selling the damn thing anyway. The only thing they have done is reap the benefits off of other peoples IP sucks but sadly thats what their founder was doing since the beginning. I am going to let you on on a secret though you can pray to all the old gods, monsters, and artifacts that you want and I promise nothing is going to happen because magic isn't fucking real. There is no power to gain from any sort of ritual, there is no great monster thats going to arise because its all made up nonsense.
