When I was in fourth grade a teacher asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I excitedly told her I wanted to be an animator! I still remember her smile as she said, “oh, honey, that’s just a hobby. You can’t make a living drawing.” It crushed the fourth grade me and I quit drawing. I eventually came back to drawing in my mid-thirties (I’m 43 now) and it lights up my soul! Your videos of encouragement are invaluable!!! No doubt it’s helping to keep people on a path that makes them feel alive. You rock!

How insane is it to tell a kid that? Glad you’re back at it!

Thanks for sharing this sir! Not a lot talk about these reasons. Reason #1 was the one that made me stop for a couple of years. It gave me a spiral of paralyzing despair for a period of time. I can't even laugh on jokes my wife made, in effort to make me smile. Yes I'm diagnosed even before, but that reason #1 shocked the world for me. I can't even move and do chores. May you continue to share your encouragements as you mentioned, others may relate to them as well! (And that's also one reason, I decided to return to drawing comics.😊)

@Kaicastle, thanks so much for the donation and the kind words. Comics and drawing are MAGIC, not just healing magic for ourselves, but all the hours and hard work we put in, just remember it's helping someone else you probably will never meet. That feels really special. So on top of doing it for you or your own people, we're adding a little light into the world! Keep shining!

I couldn't relate too much to the theme of the video, but it still gave me the motivation to try drawing something today. which is a hell of a lot better than doing nothing
