"This song talks about the importance of freedom and evolution. The protagonist believes that when people embrace these things, they can achieve a better future. He also encourages people to take control of their own lives, whether they want to be a healer or a faker, and realize that they are the ones in charge of their destiny."

Dimmu Borgir is from Norway, this is the official state Orchestra playing with them, I do not know which choir it is, but probably one which got funding from the state, Here in Norway we are really proud of our black metal and the state are too, big business and export :)

This was a cooperation with the NRK, the Norwegian government supported TV & Radio channel. The orchestra members have full time job with "krinkastnings orkesteret" (KORK) as is the NRK's orchestra. A video of Orchestra rehearsal: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oH54xKNmpKrUqrw.htmlsi=8LLp5ca0t53b-gib

Most of the audience was in their homes - this was a special event where Norwegian public broadcasting company and their orchestra and choir teamed up with Dimmu Borgir so it was obviously televised. The rehearsals must have been massive to get it all work that smoothly. Just the technical side of micing something like hundred people without mics picking wrong stuff and then mixing it all without turning it to a blurry mess is an accomplishment.

I love to some love for Dimmu Borgir, they are a great band to see live (even without the orchestra, the show is a banger). As usual, your open-mindedness to all music genres is a pleasure to watch, see you mext time :)

It may have been mentioned in your comments before, but the whole concert is available on youtube. Just search for Dimmu Borgir live in Oslo Spectrum. It was as mentioned by other commentators a collaboration between Dimmu Borgir, Kringkastingsorkesteret(orchestra) and Schola Cantorum(choir) supported by the national broadcast channel, NRK. If I remember correctly there was close to 100 people on stage that day.

Loved the reaction, you guys are hilarious! Please make more videos featuring Dimmu Borgir songs. This band is amazing. I've done two video analyses of their song lyrics. I even have a tattoo with lyrics from "Gateways" and a cat named Dimmu after the band. It's always wonderful to see the reaction of people who are new to the band. You should check out "Mourning Palace" (best track ever). Keep it up!

This is one of my favourite bands. They are Norwegian symphonic black metal band and they started in 1993. The vocalist, Shagrath, and the guitarist Galder has been in the band from the beginning. As @Marco-nu6dg mentioned, on this song, they have Agnete Kjølsrud from the band Djerv as a guest singer. I like the way they "play" with the music adding orchestra, choir and several shifts in the music during a song. You never know whats next! If you want to listen to more of their stuff, I can recommend their official video of Council of the Wolves and Snakes kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6unk5qYfb2TnNo.html .

They always used samples and synths on there album for the choir and classic music effects. On the last album they replaced them for a real orchestra and choir. They did also two live gigs with them, this one and one at Wacken Open Air (kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZtq0JWTmK7dpJc.html). And they have Agnete Kjølsrud as a guest singer on this track. Dimmu Borgir is an Death Metalband from Norway.

I took it more as "the core principle of freedom is the only notion to obey" is that were all blindly following rules masked as freedom, and that the "rebirth is near completion as we awaken from slumber" is when we realize this, hence "waking from slumber." the song continues on to talk about creating your own path and that its in your hands, and realizing this is the gateway to your own divinity.

"Who writes these lyrics?" The band does. I think (I might be wrong of course as I Don't claim to be sitting on All the answers) that Mustis wrote the music score and Shagrath wrote the lyrics or it's all Mustis... something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong though folks. 👍🤘😈
