Not only this, but Dimash OPENED the annual 14 week competition show I AM SINGER with THIS performance as a special invitee and virtual unknown to both his competitors and the audience. He was the first non-Chinese Singer ever invited and the youngest ever competitor to this point. He became an overnight sensation requiring bodyguards thru the show's duration. No other singer captivates me like Dimash. He is amazing... Other worldly ... The way he can emote a song, even when he doesn't speak the language (such as this song in French) is magical! You are definitely in for an adventure exploring Dimash's masterpieces, and most of his performances are just that: masterpieces! Dimash’s fans (dears) number around 2 billion worldwide. They cross nationalities, cultures, religions, sexes, ages. I’m not sure why his voice holds such power. I KNOW how good it is, but the hold he has over his fans seems almost supernatural. I know. I’ve been hooked since last May. It’s unusual for me. I like music, but am not particularly into it, am not a musician, am a senior citizen who, while certainly appreciating Dimash’s beauty, am not a crushed up fan girl. I can’t explain it. I’m a retired 66 year grandmother teacher from rural Alabama USA, yet I am more of a fan of Dimash than when I was a rockin’ 70s teenager with mad crushes on the teen idols of the day.

Dimash was a wild card competitor since he was foreign, well known at home in Kazakhstan, and the youngest competitor at age 22. They made him go first for quick elimination. Ha! It didn’t work out that way. He was an overnight success. This performance was the first performance of the 2017 season of “I Am A Singer” in China.p

You have been Dimashified! It takes more than 2 or 3 or 4 songs to get the measure of his talent so you think maybe after a dozen songs you will get a broader picture of what he can do. Then after a dozen songs you begin to realize he will just keep on surprising you with each new offering. One of his greatest virtues as a performer is that he 'genre-less' and is not owned by a record company. He is self determining and in complete control of what and how he does what he does. He shares those attributes with Diana Ankudinova (her name will keep coming up as they seem to share the same fan base when you listen to a few of her songs, you will see why). After some exposure to both of them you may also realize that there is more to them than great talent. They are outstanding human beings! I look forward to more from you. Love from NZ.

Great reaction! DImash is an amazing singer with a 7 octave range. In addition to this, he can sing in any style - pop, opera, classic, etc (frequently in the same song). Other songs you should react to are Sinful Passion, Stranger, Olimpico and Opera 2. Opera 2 is from this same competition show. BTW, he came in 2nd place in this competion. The rules only allowed a native born Chinese to win the top spot. The rules wew changed the following year. I really enjoy your channel!

Конечно. Сами иностранцы с сожалением пишут о том, что Димаш до сих пор еще широко не известен западному слушателю. И объясняют это тем, что у него нет на Западе мощной рекламы и промоутеров, которые продвигали бы его творчество, так как у Димаша нет контрактов с западными продюсерами. А в мире современного шоу-бизнеса без рекламы никуда. Димаш же хочет остаться свободным в своем творчестве, не ограничивать себя контрактными рамками. Но благодаря своему таланту все равно имеет массу поклонников по всему миру и все равно станет звездой мирового масштаба. Да, собственно, и стал уже. I liked and subscribed hoping for more Dimash reactions😊 Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. This was an enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China. As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese, even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition. Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11. 1.
