Simon love the work. Interesting how much unease was in the voice of the one women who posed the first question from audience. The team I was leading at the time of all of this mess was given a directive- do your own research, make your own choice, and that choice remains private. full stop. We would do all the PPE, etc. and take all precautions necessary but would have no mandate. Best decision in 17 years of owning a company and I know the future will prove this correct. cheers

I definitely agree with your final point Simon . The way I see it we’ve been psychologically manipulated to forget what we stand for and see each other as enemies instead of allies or a united family. . It’s looking like a plot to divide and conquer. . What we should stand for is honor, equality, peace, unity and creating a society that values human decency . Our common threat is violence, human cruelty, inequality, and injustice. . Both sides of our political parties have become extremist when they started playing the finite game. . Both side is only concerned to appealing to one side and not what is best for the entire nation as a whole. . We all need to see ourselves as a United front , and see living with integrity, honor, empathy and fairness as a lifestyle. . If we can all agree to play the infinite game which is to become a truly united nation,we would be the Greatest nation on earth.

The guy was so unaware when he told Simon that an employee moved and was happy and getting his job done, and the guy wanted him back at the office so he could go up to the guy and periodically ruin his lunch by sitting by him. Essentially: "I have a happy employee....WHAT DO I DO? Can you validate my concern? "

Great talk, Simon. Sadly after working all my life with Asian companies (Singaporean or Malaysian-based), the Management is more interested in faking it & manipulating their talents to their benefit. Seen it time & time again, CEOs of these companies will just promote & reward their boot lickers...some have totally no idea what the hell they are doing each day. So when then strong talents vacate from their companies, they then tell the workers that are staying that those who left are just traitors.

There needs to be some balance. I would encourage people to consume some Jack Walsh and Andy Grove as will as the Simon Sinek's and Brené Brown's of this world. Most importantly, find your own style.

Ok who gets to save their money, not give it away in profit sharing etc. and hand it out when the company is losing money? Is that from each employee including executives? Some companies, most need balance sheets to run their business. Who gets to be the mommy and daddy? Who gets to set the standard and decide who get rewarded and who does not? Whose responsibility is it to make sure the company is profitable? One thing I know is you can say your ideals and of your employees don’t share them you cannot coach them to it or make them if they are not open to it and want it. What do you give away to help others in terms of money and your wealth? Purely to help others not lose their jobs? For how long? I am good at poking holes and appreciate that you are addressing the world we live in and recognize all the challenges. I have the same ones and I am Leary of easy answers. What do people who are not privileged say about these challenges? Yes they are hurt and burned and what do they want that gives them power to author their lives not give a hand out bandais.

When you run a company with 100 or 1000 employees, even 15 or 20, you have to make decisions based on the fact that people have different political opinions, and its not just as simple as saying, "if you want the vaccine then cool, if you don't then cool" because people feel very strongly on both sides of the coin and some people are unsure in the middle innocently, so don't say you were lost with the vaccines, it is a simple and easy concept to grasp that it must have been a challenging position to be an employer with employees in that position, employers have tremendous amounts of responsibility and the vaccine decisions were just another one they had to take on and decide a stance to take in their workplace.
