4 months ago, I got promoted to a leadership position. I have always been able to learn quickly, adapt to and thrive in a new role in the past. However, after taking on the leadership role, weirdly I feel less engaged and less accomplished, but haven’t been able to figure out the cause. Your sharing is truly thought-provoking and helps me to see clearly what has been going on and what I need to do next. Active listening, giving & receiving feedback, empathy, having effective confrontation and difficult conversations, all these “human” skills were not taught and I was not prepared to lead. Introducing and embracing the infinite mindset is going to be life changing. “Just Cause” itself inspires me to reflect and redefine what type of a leader that I aspire to grow into and how to live my life more meaningfully. Appreciate you a ton Simon!

Dear Simon, I consider myself to be a realist. But part of me is also quite idealistic. Your vision on leadership and trust is so inspiring to me. I'm even considering going back to college to get a degree in antropology. I'm 47, Thanks from George in Belgium

I got into your work, Simon, quite accidentally I would say, but I am so inspired by it that I watched almost all the talks and videos around Start With Why, Leaders Eat Last, Together Is Better, and now The Infinite Game. As an introvert young millenial with existential problems, going through your work helps have a better understanding of our society and the role I want to have in this. I am currently reading the books and I am crushing it. Thank You So Much Simon !!!

At 46:00 he asks Simon to talk about goal setting, he gets his response. The audience his employees, react and applaud because they may have brought those very concerns up. The host immediately reminds everyone, we are not changing the forecast. It may be a joke, but the very thing he needs to do, he stays away from.

I wish my immediate supervisor could understand your leadership concepts.I wish the whole world could understand your leadership concepts. Could we just build a little more compassion into this life? Still over here struggling with my "why" after watching your Ted talk for the first time in 2015. I suspect that I have some business to get in order, in my head, before I can figure out why I do what I do. Hell, I'm not even sure what I do yet 🤣🤣🤣

Go and have lunch with your team, that is one of the best ways to get people in a team closed. And please don’t choose a fancy restaurant and if it’s possible and you are no more than 40 or so, choose just one long table. Share dishes. The “coffee time” after lunch is the most valuable time so don’t cut it short. That is the old way to get people closed or at least that people in a team get to know each other. The talk was quite interesting, but I got the same vibe I’m getting lately: no one knows the way to go right now. Governments don’t know, Central Banks don’t know, Corporations don’t know, Consultants don’t know… all of them just trying different approachs. They are all waiting for someone to have a better idea. We’ll see what happens. And meanwhile us employees (specially between 40 and 50 years old) are in the worst situation than ever before because companies are right now trying to decide where to go and trying not to go under this economic situation we are in.

@@SimonSinek Hi Simon. I just got done reading your book, "Start with Why," and it made me think of all the pains the Disney Company is going through. Wouldn't you say franchises like Fox Studios (Predator, Aliens), ESPN and Hulu are manifestations of the company abandoning its why ("The Child In All of Us")? Now the company is talking about incorporating sports betting. That doesn't seem it would be compatible with the company's brand.

There is a department in our company that is just treated poorly. I was in it for 4 years and saw it degrade. I left and it keeps getting worse. Everyone is stressed and I once said it is not the workers fault if your department sucks. It is the managements fault and was almost written up for it. Was why I left even though I was in line for management. There are 3 people that would be above me and I knew my manager was unable to enact change. He left and so did his replacement. It would be one thing if I could go and enact change. But if the people above you will not what can you do?
