@@gsftb Well, what is "right" or "wrong" exactly? I think it's up to each and everyone to decide at the end of the day. One of the most important characteristics you can obtain is integrity, honesty, and dignity. Those 3 traits alone are sufficient to make you a decent and respectable human being. Other than that, don't get caught up in "wrongs" or "rights" in everyday life, meaning don't be so judgemental. See things as they are instead, situations that play out, and how you want to deal with them.

Every time Simon opens his mouth I am amazed, because he speaks to Perspective and Empathy and the need for Altruistic leaders as a way for businesses to sustain their forward movement and to treat their most important assets, their employees, as if they matter. If everyone feels more secure and fulfilled in their work environment they are more happy. If they are happier they are doing their job better and are more friendly to the customers. Satisfied and happy customers means more job for the company itself 😊. There are so many aspects in life that depend on how we are treated and how we treat others.

One of the best speech I've ever heard. I made my Bachelor degree's thesis based on Emotional Intelligence, and I wish I could watch this video to make everything easier.
@blakebunch4485
Жыл бұрын
Emotional intelligence is a made-up term. There have been a lot of papers written about it however it amounts to nothing more than "agreeableness" the term emotional intelligence was coined by some journalist. What does it mean anyway? That I can infer what you're thinking or feeling. Maybe I know exactly what you're thinking and feeling and just don't give two shits. How do you differentiate emotional intelligence from empathy or sympathy? By the way it turns out that people who lack agreeableness and are disagreeable are the ones that succeed in the workplace. Not the other way around. Don't feed into the hype. I know they teach this in schools but schools are often wrong this is one case of many. I do hope you got your bachelor's degree and a good score on your thesis. I wish you well. Life itself is a classroom you can learn everywhere.
@human7491
11 ай бұрын
I don't like both adjectives. Agreeable and disagreeable. Let's rather use full sentences and say that emotionally intelligent people agree when they agree, disagree when they disagree. That's it. You don't have to view one as negative and the other one as positive. Feelings aren't fixated.
@gayatrimore44884 жыл бұрын

This is a brilliant talk. We focus so often on the "ideal" result in business, on an extremely irrational timetable, that we forget that both time and, _more importantly_, emotionally invested *people* lay the foundation for the ideal. A slow quarter or year doesn't spell permanent loss for shareholders. The greatest businesses that exist today *ALL* started before they IPOed. Passion drives success and nothing is less passion-motivating than rigid performance metrics, disconnected or metric-based management, or a cultural fear of failure.

So true. It’s far less about homogenising staff and more about recognising, utilising then celebrating people’s individual strengths and achievements. Sadly, too many directors focus on humiliating staff in order to make themselves feel important - not conducive to a healthy environment. When things go wrong we’re supposed to focus on areas of improvement rather than berating staff for their mistakes.

Satisfied and happy customers means more job for the company itself 😊. There are so many aspects in life that depend on how we are treated and how we treat others.
Thank you for the guidance on leadership, Mr. McClung.
Thank you for sharing this post. It's time for more smart and heartbased leadership, worldwide, on all levels and all areas of life💫🕊💝🙏🏼💝🕊💫
Wow. It is so refreshing to hear the words empathy, long term, no winning and losing, mass layoffs. I thought we have lost them all. Thanks Simon you just stirred every soul. Love you
Simon is simply one of the best speakers in our time.
This world is becoming more and more void of empathy and compassion, it is a sad and bitter development. For those who still posses this gift I ask to share your story with me and the rest of the world: Good or bad, pain or joy. I am looking forward to your reaction. Thank you.
This speech should be done in front of each big business in North America (Tesla, Microsoft, Disney, BCE, etc).
Today is Monday, Have a good week!!! All of you! Everything will be great and good!!! Be a rock!!!
I know his signature talk is “start with why” but this is my favorite of his talks😫😍
Good to revisit this guy's episode which I saw when it came out. We all need a good reminder on this one vital human quality that is hard to retain without reminding yourself from time to time.
Excellent Simon Sinek, as expressive, as right as always. Excellent!! Leaders, responsible for those in charge. it's a beautiful job, it's about the people.
He makes so much sense. He is such a nice man
He is altogether a different speaker at different level. It changes my insight towards my daily work whether official or personal. Great speech.
I know why Simon is so popular. He speaks something people want to hear instead of leaders want to hear. What a strategy !
Kudos. This guy brings clarity to human behaviour
Omg nobody really is talking about these anymore.. i want to invite him to my company I’m almost in tears on my way to go to work now So inspiring Thank you!
Best ever talk on leadership... Amazing guy...
Amazingly Articulated straight to the Heart !
I love this
Agree. People in this world need more empathy, mercy and compassion and forgiveness. And Love one another + Start within your family and spread out to the world.
Truth is always so simple!
I am flabbergasted…. This is so true!! And it hurt me so much, i cant explain it, I wish I could but I would need 100k+ words or more
Simon; speaks the truth we think inside our own head but don’t verbalize to others for some reason. Keep pushing forward
Beautifully brilliant. I adore all you do. Thank you.
One of the best speech I've ever heard. I made my Bachelor degree's thesis based on Emotional Intelligence, and I wish I could watch this video to make everything easier.

I don't like both adjectives. Agreeable and disagreeable. Let's rather use full sentences and say that emotionally intelligent people agree when they agree, disagree when they disagree. That's it. You don't have to view one as negative and the other one as positive. Feelings aren't fixated.
Absolutely love this guy!
Amazing ❤presentation
Thank you for this

Simon sinek is a great thought leader. I love his observation that managers micro manage because they know how to do it better
Simon you are so great it’s a pleasure listening to you again and again to grasp what you really want to say...!🥀🥀🥀
All leaders need to have empathy and Simon Sinek is exemplary at explaining empathy. Empathy is about embracing everyone and especially embracing peoples' differences.
Wow!! This speech is amazing.
