Dan Markel was murdered in Tallahassee, Florida, in 2014, in a murder for hire motivated by child custody issues following Markel's divorce from Wendi Adelson, a clinical law professor and child advocate also employed at Florida State University at the time. Wendi Adelson has not been charged, but she has been named, together with her brother Charlie and mother Donna, as "conspirators" in the killing. So far, four individuals have been charged: Luis Rivera pled guilty to murder, and was sentenced to 19 years in jail. Sigfredo Garcia was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and sentenced to life in prison. Katherine Magbanua was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation of murder, in a retrial following a mistrial in her original case, and was sentenced to life in prison plus two consecutive 30-year sentences. Charlie Adelson (Wendi Adelson's brother) has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation of murder, and is currently on trial.

I dint think Wendy actually conspired. But watching and listening to her behavior and speech I see her as a “background” -covert - instigator. I feel she wanted her ex dead, and welcomed “anything you can do” (to Charlie). And her mother did the same but not with as much guile. Wendy’s narcissism lies in her cool, “pleasant” demeanor. I think you might have to be a woman to see through her. I’ve seen her in two cross-exams and in the second one I got the creeps from her. She’s too smooth. Her one or two line responses came across as strangely deceptive to me. Monotone. And strangely still.

Imho I saw her testimony in another trial and it was different. She had gotten limited immunity. It was totally different. I think she when drove to the crime scene, she knew. I wonder if they told intimated something was going to happen b/c of the calls to bro after & he knew? And her interrogation her heavy sobbing stopped on a dime. When alone she would hyperventilate & stop. She told LE about what her brother said b/c she knew others knew, but setting up her BF was the 😳 moment. It’s like she had a feeling they did it. I wish they could get the mom. We all know she was apart of this from the emails. Her ideas were diabolical. And their entitlement …. Those boys should be awarded to the Markel family. But imagine growing up and finding all this on the internet😳 therapy and run away from that family asap

@katrinat.3032 I don't think she agreed to a hot on her ex. I think it was joked about, I think she knows what her brother was capable off, and given all the evidence can figure it out. But its not just her brother it's her parents too. So she is stuck between a rock and a hard place, because her boys will possibly have questions in the future about what happened to daddy and who is to blame. I think she has a lot of regret about the amount of complaining she did to her family, who then thought they could fix it for her.

My favorite part of Wendy’s police interview was when she called her parents to tell them Dan was dead. She doesn’t say killed, or murdered. She says he was shot. Then after the call, she says three or four times to the detectives how her parents were surprised when she told them so thats a relief. The hair on my neck went up. She couldn’t stress enough to detectives that there was nothing to see there. Once again, me thinks she doth protest too much. She knows she’s guilty.

If she knew, you would think she’d try her best to keep her family under the radar? At the same time, maybe she understood that her family would be brought up in countless interviews of people in their lives, so she was trying to get ahead of it… I’m positive on the other members of the family, it’s just Wendi I can’t 100% be sure of.

I'm guessing it help at least appear to be telling the truth, and the key is the whole truth. But obviously Georgia, and even probably hundreds of people like me who have really studied this case for some weird reason, no her culpability If she could have kept herself from driving by the crime scene, and if the neighbor hadn't spotted the car, and if Charlie had been smart enough to realize that if sick Fredo called his dads office, then there's a connection that could hang them, so to speak. Three small details made all the difference really. Anyone of them alone might not have done it. Although Sigfredo's phone number was in the dump at the gym.

From listening to the podcast about the murder of Dan Markel, I learned that Wendy HATED Tallahassee & wanted to move back to South Florida with the children. Her mother was overbearing & her brother saw himself as a high class gangster. The killer was given Mr. Adleson's Lexus as part of his payment. The family kept enough fron Wendy so she could have plausible deniability about the murder. She & her whole family are terrible ppl. My heart goes out to the Markel boys (Wendy changed their last names to Adleson), Dan & his parents. The Adlesons have kept Dan's parents from seeing their grandchildren.

Her tears would always dry up immediately each time they asked questions about her alibi ... and she always had immediate answers about where she was, with exact times that the repairman came and left that day .. in the midst of all that feigned grief and shock, her memory of times and places was crystal clear. Also, 2 hours to hook up her cable?? She said, "Well I scheduled a repair between 8 and 12, but he came very early" ... why would you show disappointment that he came so early , except that you needed that alibi a little later in the morning?

I wish i had her home address in 2014 so i could precisely chart the drive. Even without that, her travel that day makes no sense except as a way for her to check the scene of the crime. The detour through Truscott makes no sense. The Mosaik restaurant is way north of dan’s house. Probably had a liquor store nearby. But she had to go to the ABC liquor store near Dan’s house.

I’m so glad to have the Behaviour Panel back at what seems to be a regular schedule and a complete show. Keep it up TBP!

They do a show every week unless they have something else on as they do this for fun, it's none of their main jobs. 😊

I believe Wendi's MO is the innocent, oblivious, fantasy world child. This is a reason that her mom and brother took care of the ugly situation for her and she just floats on the edges. I believe she probably doesn't read the ugly details or listens to the tapes with the ugly details because that is her assigned role in the family dynamic. Everyone will take care of things for her and she doesn't need to worry her pretty little head about it. Family dynamics ruined her marriage, murdered her ex-husband and ruined her kids' lives.

Regarding the nostril flaring- it's botox. The face wants to show emotion, so it will find ways to adapt against the 'tox. I never flared my nostrils until I couldn't scowl anymore post Botox. Reading facial expressions with current botox use could be a whole new study.
