Terry Sanderson, the retired optometrist who sued actor Gwyneth Paltrow over an alleged 2016 ski accident, regrets ever pursuing legal action. After a jury in Utah determined Thursday that Paltrow, 50, was not liable for a ski crash that Sanderson claimed left him with a “permanent traumatic brain injury,” he commiserated his loss with reporters outside the courthouse. Sanderson, 76, called the trial a “character assassination,” as much of his medical history and the complicated relationships between him and his family was exposed during the livestreamed trial.
In this video, we're covering the latest in the Gwyneth Paltrow trial. From the accuser's testimony to the defense's strategy, this is one video you don't want to miss!

    I mean no disrespect to attorneys or the profession. I know many attorneys who are good people and they do great things for people and The People. My most favorite subsection of attorneys are US attorneys. The Miami US attorney's office has some seriously spectacular attorneys. We need judges and attorneys, laws and the process, without a doubt. My point is simply: If you can work it out, work it out. If you can divorce with one attorney, by all means do it. But do the necessary due diligence to find a competent attorney. And if you go through 5 attorneys who tell you you have no case, take that as a flippin' sign that...uhh...maybe they're right and you should drop it. As with ANYTHING I write, it's just my opinion.

    For Scott and anyone else that may be interested: The horse behaviour Greg mentioned is called mouthing. As Greg said it happens in young horses up till the age of about 2 (young females tend to stop it sooner as they are less of a threat). It kind of looks like someone chewing gum with their mouth open but then imagine they pull their lips back to show their teeth at the same time. They do this to show they don't have any teeth yet and can't fight/pose a threat. Most minor bickering/low level fighting in herds is horses biting each other (and making lots of noise) rather than kicking or rearing. The behaviour is kind of showing you're so young you can't even reach stage one of a fight. Thanks for another good one guys!

    I agree with Scott--i.e., that Sanderson isn't experiencing cognitive decline, but rather is a congenital weenie who suffers from the 'Hey,-Look-at-Me!" Syndrome. I find Paltrow annoying, but in this case, I think she actually was the aggrieved party. It's clear Sanderson's story is inconsistent, and just because Paltrow is wealthy, she shouldn't have to pay off some idiot for a bogus claim. And 3 NDE's!? Sham-wow.

    I watched the entire trial and I am convinced he does have some decline. But based on medical records it began well before the crash. I just think his ego has latched on to it being Paltrow's fault. It's clear from his daughters that he was pretending to be the picture of perfect health at 69.

    @r3adrpro811

    The attorney's fees issue hasn't been decided yet. It is not automatic. The $1 award to Paltrow allows her to pursue them. There will be a separate hearing on it - primarily legal argument of why she is entitled to them and testimony about the fees incurred - and the judge will make that decision. By the way, the female attorney - Kristen - was there expressly for the reason of attorney's fees. She is from TS'd insurance carrier (unlike the other attorneys who probably represented him on a contingency basis) what represented him on the counterclaim and may actually pay the fees rather than TS himself (that will be a whole different matter between TS and his insurance company!)

    Fascinating as always. I am seeing flashes of anger , very quick, in Terry's eyes when he has to agree with the lawyer about what he, Terry, has said earlier. It's as though he is angry that there is a record and that he can be called up on it. To me that means this is NOT cognitive confusion. I've lived with people who had genuine cognitive confusion and it doesn't look anything like this. To me this looks like someone who has always got away with manipulation, he is almost succeeding in hiding his anger, and feigning confusion. But if you know real confusion and real memory loss - you can see this is pretence. He's angry at being exposed.

    Baby horse explanation: Just like human toddlers, foals may run amok and crash into sensitive body parts, completely innocently. They also don't know social hierarchy and cues. Foals "clack" their teeth (open mouth chewing motion) to signify "I'm just a baby, I know nothing, please don't kill me". And adult horses honor this. They may nip the baby, but won't bite or kick with full strength.

    The 'near death experience' reference By Mr Sanderson was so amusing. He has that demeanor of the vulnerable charming narcissist who uses, as Mark says 'grandiose' references. The charm in this sense is the supposedly gentle, quiet, 'harmless' almost apologetic placation. But the exaggerated language like 'near death experiences'' thrown in with the greatest of apparent humility, usually achieves great sympathy from others.

Take some pictures maybe even wrangle an invite to a meal with the family. Instead, he broke his ribs & GP was pissed. She immediately handed things over to the trained professionals instead of befriending him. I think that's why he is so bent out of shape about how he was treated.
