Did Ulanzi do us dirty? - DJI Action 4 OA-16 Conspiracy!
I love my DJI Osmo Action 3 & Action 4 cameras. I also love Ulanzi accessories. And I really love the Ulanzi OA-16 Magnetic Replacement Battery Door... mostly.
The OA-16 would be the perfect accessory if it actually secured to the Action 4. Well, I was watching @Gemini_Connect and saw them recommend the OA-16 for the Action 4 AND showed it securely attached. So I had to do some investigation... and here's what I discovered...

I do not understand the issue you are having...I have the Action 4 and I purchased the same door as you. They were both purchased sometime in August, if I remember correctly. It does work on my Action 4. You have to line it up and place it on the groove first (it's a bit tricky, but this is the pivot point and must be on correctly), then you can close the other end. You must make sure that end opposite the groove locks in securely. I made sure I'm not wrong by double checking my door, it is exactly like yours and I promise it does work... with a bit of effort. It is not the most convenient thing to deal with when having to switch batteries a lot. However, I have ridden many miles with it on my motorcycle's vibration-heavy handlebars with no issues! Same can be said for using it on my helmet mount. Still, I would prefer the modified version as it seems like it might work better. Hope this helps someone!
Time to grab a Dremel to make it fit the action 4.
But does this battery door make it not waterproof??

It is not waterproof! I only use it because my original door was lost!
Just file the ends on the 1st gen you have and it'll fit since you own it already. Or blow $19.95 again & get the new version which I haven't seen yet.

Lol, I was literally prepping to file mine down when I came across this new version. Now I'll prob just buy a new one to put one on each of my cameras!
Will the rode wireless go/me fit with the Ulanzi OA-19?
The color isn't the only thing different in the screws. The door he had used Phillips screws and yours were Allen head. Not that that makes any difference but that's what they are. It would be an easy mod to make your door fit. It might be a bit fiddly without the correct tools but it's doable. My guess is that you got old inventory from wherever you bought it. The door was correct for the action 3. DJI was the one that made the change.
Does it stay waterproof?i have heard conflicting info about it.

The Ulanzi door doesn't have a rubber gasket to seal the battery compartment, so I can't see how it's waterproof.
I avoid Ulanzi because they'll release products, and quickly discontinue them. They've done that for cages for the Pocket series, some cages for Osmo Action series, and even some GoPro accessories.
