Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Glad to see that everyone's ok and 'it's only' equipment that got minor damaged. It can always be replaced, people can't. We Brits may complain about the weather a lot (heck we complain about everything ...) but at least it's generally benign !!

Hey brother man, you definitely got the opertunity to highlight the value of insuring property. Still my heart goes out to you and all those in that immediate area. Haven't been a Minnesota farmer since 1981 myself. Around the maple lake,Annandale area. Had a bad accident on the farm when I was 9y old got burned 50% of my upper body.. Accidents happen, but knowledge, safety, assigning tasks according to age. These things will help. And parents really have to train and instruct children b4 allowing them to do things. Sadly my parents were not typical teachers, so please love your Children, train, traen,, instruct, then demonstrate. Love you videos. They really make me miss farming

One of the Welker's videos about erecting new grain bins showed how they ordered extra support (verticle & wrap-around) to better resist wind damage. Would that work for your farm?

I'm prefacing this with "I have no idea"... Were the cold shed doors open during the storm? If open, I can see the open ended shed acting like a big parachute, catching all the wind's force, and blowing itself apart. I freely admit I have no idea if having the doors closed would have saved the shed.

The tractor that had the planter attached was standing outside the shed, didn't fit fully in. But I think too it wouldn't have made much difference as it looks like it just collapsed and got pushed over from the side. When the wind would have lifted it up it would have looked different. In a tornado you actually should open you windows to get equal air pressure to prevent you roof popping up. In a storm we had all of our wire reinforced windows cracked on the shop

Man I love the support your getting through this channel, you've obviously inserted yourselves into the lives of others. I'm pretty sure you're busted up inside but as long as you stay as positive as you seem to be it won't be long before this is just an ugly incident that you survived. Sincere best wishes for a good season. :-)

Good thing you guy are safe. Sucks it’s right at a critical time of planting. We had a barn fire that wiped out a few major pieces of equipment. Right at this time that threw us back. I’m still after 4 years trying to recover from it. The weathers been crap all over for all of us farmers in many states

As a crusty old Scotsman and big fan of the three little pigs vs the big bad wolf. I was seeing signs that some folk living in Tornado Alley decided not to build their home from sticks. Some recent footage after a touchdown showed houses still fully intact. Shingles, siding, and windows gone, but the home still there. It never made any sense in these days of ICF that ANYONE would not make a concrete home? And before anyone starts with the cost, that's bullshit. Your most precious resource? Time. Your most precious possession? Your family. In both cases, when they are gone....they are gone! You guys are precious. Look after yourselves and keep the "Big Bad Wolf" away.

Getting priorities in line and acting on them. Hope for an easy fix on the planter. Can't imagine the paper work coming down the line. Good insurance agent is a big plus. Keep your head up and remember you can only do so much. Prayers sent for this to pass quickly.
