I personally own two of them. I haven’t had that problem with racking it with 6 in the mag. But I will agree the sights did come loose. A little lock tight an no more problems. Other than that flawless pistol for concealed carry. Can’t beat the price either.

Ditto! Use loctite on the front and rear sights. The front sight screw on the inside of the slide requires a T6 torx driver to tighten. The rear is from above with an allen wrench. From the factory the pistol is very tight. Mine smoothed out around 200 rounds. The pistol is very well made and is actually a bargain at $189.00 from Grabagun.

I see one major issue all the time that I would like to bring to everyone's attention. All different types of machines and tools are equipped with a specific grease or oils for an undetermined shelf life. However I never seem to see anyone removing this especially thicker oil. I personally have a Gen1 DB9 that the individual who had it before me couldn't get it to go through a single magazine. I watched him shoot it. Looked at his ammunition and agreed to buy it. In my eyes. He couldn't follow mfg's instructions. So it would probably be best if I just took it off his hands. That gun fires flawlessly with the right ammunition, tiniest bit of lube and a good firm grip. After several hundred rounds. I've only had 1 malfunction. And I have seen the sights come loose from many weapons. Including Glock and Marlin to name a few. But normally only with extreme use. Have had lemon Vehicles though! Lol!

You have to use the push-forward method on this gun. It has a very stiff recoil spring, and when you add the resistance from the mag, it's a gun not for those who don't have alot of arm and hand strength. You clamp the slide hard and shove the grip forward forcefully.

Lock the slide back without the mag in (push up slide stop with thumb). Insert fully loaded mag. Release slide. Take out mag and top off.

I had a taurus do that with the sights, it was because i had the upgraded metal sights. But at the factory nobody put loctitie on em as the regular sites were plastic

I've had this in my range bag for years. Try as I can, I canNOT get the slide off to clean the gun. I have better than average hand/arm/wrist strength. Is there some trick I'm missing? My Beretta comes apart real smooth. I *think* I'm following instructions/examples. Thanks!

Same problem I have. It takes a bear grip to chamber a round. Something wrong with that for sure.

It's a sub compact... Lock slide 1st, insert magazine and let it go home, chamber, then drop magazine and add another round!

Had my first shots today with my new DB9 that I bought a few months ago. My friend brought his new DB9 that he bought about 3 weeks ago. Both pistols are brand new and have never been fired (test fire at DB?) by us. My pistol is all black and his has some sort of nickel looking finish on top. My pistol ran just about flawlessly and was more accurate than I anticipated. His pistol had similar problems to the video, having problems trying to rack the slide and using the slide lock. The slide lock was so hard to raise that we thought it was stuck or broken. We eventually got it to move after some Rem Oil and lots of manual manipulation. He had a lot of failure to feed issues and many times could not chamber a round due to the first round sticking, like we saw (2:25) in this video. I took both firearms apart and his brand new feed ramp looked crooked and after only a few rounds we saw a line that looked like it was digging into the ramp. My pistol did not have that look and mine was feeding fine after the first magazine. The DB9 has a longer (lop?) grip than is actually necessary and it still doesn't make sense to design it that way, it just doesn't feel comfortable when holding the gun. Once I started shooting, the grip was a non issue, it was fine while shooting. After the first magazine it was constantly in or around the bull and it was much more accurate than I thought it would be. I filled my magazines with 6 rounds each time and only had a failure to feed on the first magazine. After that my pistol ran flawlessly and I put over 100 rounds through it today. The recoil is no worse than my Hellcat (maybe less) and should not be an issue for anyone that isn't new to firearms or used to shooting similar caliber/sized firearms. Today we had two brand-new DB9 pistols that were purchased from different stores a few months apart. My DB9 was essentially flawless and accurate. My friends' had lots of feeding and racking issues and even after plenty of rounds and a little fine tuning, it only got slightly better. We tried 4 or 5 rounds (instead of 6) in the mags and just about everything else we could do. His will have to go to the store armorer or back to Diamondback, the issues were that bad. Apparently, this is what people mean when they say you can get a good one or a bad one, it's the luck of the draw. I am confident in carrying mine for self defense but I would not trust his for anything right now.

That's really odd. I've seen many issues with Kel-Tec pistols, with sights falling off and magazines dropping out randomly, and many other problems too. I haven't seen that with Diamondback though, I do know for a long time they had issues with +P ammo but never this particular issue in the video. I would love to learn more and see what Diamondback said, if you contacted them about the pistol.

Just add the loctite and it’s good! For $250, that’s dang good! Or take the opportunity to add better Glock sights! I’d be happy!

Did the magazine spring ever compress enough after some use that you were able to load six and chamber one ? Any other problems or issues, and would you buy it again ? Researching to buy... I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks

Avoid Gen 1,2, and 3 problems. Go for the Gen4. The first gens had diamond patterns of texture on the grip. The good one (Gen4) doesn't.

The DB-9 - ( Gen 4 ) is an Amazing pistol ! It has been my EDC for ( 5+ ) years now. It is the smallest & lightest pistol / Glock clone on the Planet and the Only pistol I can slip into my pocket of my lightweight suit pants or nylon Nike shorts that won't drag-down the pockets & pants because of it's weight It prints roughly like a cellphone. The problem ... Diamondback screwed up BIG TIME with the ( DB 9 ) by releasing it before it had been refined. The ( Gen. 1 ) was Garbage & ruined it in the eyes of the gun industry. Which if you notice ... Rarely will any of the recent very popular "Pocket / Micro-9mm" comparison reviews even include the (DB 9 ). The ( Gen 2 ) was better because they added a 3rd trigger oin due to the ( Gen 1 ) not being able to handle the job. Breaking & backing out It was the ( Gen 3 ) where we really got a glimpse into what the ( DB 9 ) could be. Unfortunately with a few polishing mods. But it was the ( Gen 4 ) that brought it ALL together ! With the introduction of a Slide lock, enhanced +P ( rated & stamped ) barrel, Much improved trigger, enhanced slide rails & beefed-UP ( technical term ) lower receiver. & some other minor additions. My ( Gen 4 ) is Amazing ! Super Reliable & accurate for such a small pistol The Only thing that I see that can be an issue is, which happens with many due to physics & stuff ... If you limp-wrist it you can have an issue with it failing to feed. Basically .. allowing the energy to dissipate through your hand rather than through the guide-rod spring to push back the slide. The Only negative for me is the capacity Which the ( DB-9 -> .30 Super Carry ) will remedy when it finally arrives ( HOPE & PRAY ! )

@@anuthabubba964 No Chance ... I Almost Exclusively Carry in my Front Pocket with my DB9. That is what the ( DB9 ) Is Made For ! Not only is it Hyper-Convenient but it is BY FAR the Fastest Drawing method. The moment I perceive a threat or simply Feel Like it. All I have to do is simply & calmly put my hands in my pocket and get a Nice Positive Grip on my DB. Then if need be ... I can have it OUT & UP & ON Target in ( 1 ) Second. A Time that can never be beat with any other Holster system. Mainly because you can Never rest your hand ON your grip with any other holster without looking Ridiculously Obvious ! So I have NO Idea what your talking about when it comes to Pocket Carry ?

It's a pocket rocket... No need for sights, should be shooting within 10' or so, if you can't hit anything within that range without sights, probably should spend more time with an Instructor!
