@@Dflowen i really liked mankind divided,but it is really obvious that it was cut.i hope some day we can see the end of adam jensen's story.

What I love about this game is not the there are different endings to the story. There are different perspectives. You can really feel the anger, frustration oh Jensen towards not having closure with Megan. Amazing scene that could easily be skipped by millions of players just by picking another decision.

Adam puts his sunglasses shields on: "I don't want to talk about it". 1:31

In-spite of all the negativity I mentioned early, I will admit it's poetic irony seeing Meagan get manipulated by Bob Page the same way she manipulated Adam to get his perfect gene. She deserves no less. But yea, I do feel bad for Adam here. You can tell he still has feelings for her from the way he said her name, but he's too reserved to admit it.

Old comment but I still feel like replying. Megan is ambitious in her research and is willing to stretch legality/morality/safety to complete it. She does a lot of messed up stuff, especially looking back on this from the 2052 viewpoint, but she never seems evil to me. Thinking back to the "rescue" scene in HR, she just seemed so sucked up im her work and the "greater good end goal" that she just totally forgot about Adam.

In HR I didn`t see if she tries to say anything to him. I think she could find the way to say and explain herself to him but she didn`t. I think, never really wanted. And Malik care about Adam more than her.

Megan Reed is a mad scientist protrayed in a sober way, not like an obvious gag character, but in a hidden working in the shadows way, trying to push forward technology and biology without care to anything or anyone, she literally used adam, saw him almost die and didn't give a fuck after, just left him to deal with things alone, he didn't ask for that :/

I played Mankind Divided before I played the original and I loved both. It took me ages after playing the original to realise that the black haired man and the black person in the Illuminati cutscenes in Mankind Divided are Bob Page and Morgan Everett from the original game. I recognised their names when playing the original game but I never realised they were older versions of the people in those cutscenes until I revisited the Mankind Divided Illuminati cutscenes.

Megan is gonna be Adam's downfall. He should move on.

So much this. Isn't that the whole point of these prequels? We want to see how JC Denton was created and became the main character he is in the first game, We want to see how the events and characters of the prequels all tie in to the 1st game's continuity. THAT is what we want to see, not stupid stuff that have little to no bearing to the overall plot. Seriously, why couldn't this game have at least showed JC Denton's birth in Area 51 in the ending cutscenes? It doesn't matter if it was a month or two before this game's current timeline. Then show it in the beginning with Bob Page looking on with that vile smirk on his face then! I'm so sick of these prequels focusing on stuff that doesn't matter in the long run. Get a clue, developers! We love Deus Ex because of the first game's continuity and cast around it, not the pointless prequel stuff! Honestly, I'm starting to get a really bad Star Wars prequel vibe to this: Focusing way too much on stuff fans couldn't care less about and not enough on the things we do care about like this cutscene in Versalife about Bob Page. Let's have more of what Bob Page and the Illuminati are doing and less of uninteresting characters like Rucker or Marchenko are doing!

@@immortaljanus yeah... our good old doctor did most of the damage in assisting his "employers" to help them get close to their goal before having a change of heart.

In this scene, Adam Jensen was a few feet away from his own corpse. See, the *real* Adam Jensen died in Panchea, and the head and torso of that corpse was placed into one of the boxes in the VersaLife vault. When you play this, you can stand on the box and peek through a tiny window and see a body inside. If you use an EMP grenade, it will illuminate the face, and you'll see that it's Adam Jensen. Later, Helle would confirm this with a sentence that doesn't make any sense unless you know about the cloning: "She is not the original her. You, of course, are familiar with this kind of process." She says this on Adam Jensen's giant television screen after you get the little hard-disk from the closed-down tourist office and take it back home.

@@ReverseFlash86 Yes. You're in a clone-body of yourself, with all of the memories carried over. This is why you - as Adam Jensen - has a blank spot for what happened in Alaska, because the last time they got a recording of the real Jensen's memories was shortly after Panchea. This is also why there are all these new augs in Jensen that are also somehow backward compatible with the augs put in by Sarrif -- because they're *not* the same augs, just augs meant to perform the same way. Sarrif himself alluded to this in one of the conversations with Jensen on that big screen TV. It also explains why anyone would take the time and effort to remove Jensen's old augs, then put in new ones that are identical, and THEN some new ones on top of that -- because they *didn't* do that, they just put in copies so that Jensen would never know that anything was different.

Wow, i missed this on my first playtrhough if this is true. It would fit within deus ex lore, JC and Paul being clone projects. I have to do a second playtrough on mankind divided. I had a hunch this vault had something more going on, but i had not found enough secrets to make the connection.

@@dragonkamran Devs wouldn't confirm it, because that would be a massive spoiler alert. None of that changes the fact that there's an Adam-Jensen copy in a crate next to him. is _IT_ the clone? Or is your character the clone? That's a pedantic detail.

1:20 - Jensen should know - Sarif told him earlier on their vid call.

I recently finished the game again and i just noticed that Janus here in this cutscene and Vega in the ending both use the same phrase which is "What are you thinking?" May be just a coincidence but still keeps me wondering.

What if the orchid is a prototype for the Grey death?

I'd say that Megan is a grey character. It is unfortunate that we see so little of her, maybe they'll give her arc a conclusion in a third installment of DX with Jensen. She is shown to have manipulative traits. She withholds information from Adam about using his DNA for quite some time, which is very unethical. She also fills the "irresponsible scientist" role, since she pursued multiple projects that caused a lot of damage. She is clearly driven by an ambition to make scientific breakthroughs. She is not a plain evil character like Bob Page, who never has any ethical concerns, though. She is shown to be conflicted about her actions and close to admitting them at the start of HR. She admits them towards the end of HR. She also restores Adams functionality immediately (if the player takes the firmware upgrade) even before she needs his help. She is clearly shown to care about him. She is also shown to be distressed about the possibility of her research harming people (when Darrow activates the signal or in the video when she voices concern about the Orchid). I think her story arc is being a scientist whose ambition ethically compromises her (lying to Adam) and leaves her open to manipulation by evil forces. Darrow manipulates her into subverting Tai Yong's plans but he also tricks her about hit own plans as well. And now Bob Page (the prime evil in Deus Ex) is manipulating her into creating the Orchid, which he, again, weaponizes against her wishes. I see two likely outcomes for her character in a future, third Adam Jensen installment of DX. A) She might just fall to the dark side entirely, lose her ethical qualms and start to knowingly work directly for Majestic 12. B) She can overcome her character flaws, realize that she is being manipulated, come clean with Adam and redeem herself in some way, e.g. by destroying her research before it can be abused further (choosing ethics over scientific ambition), or sacrificing herself in some way for Adam (a redemption arc classic) or kill herself as self-judgement out of guilt (a much darker ending). I think B) is more likely. She is working on project D (probably Denton), a nanovirus chimera, in 2027, but Denton's augmentations only becomes a reality around 2050. It would make sense that the final Jensen title ends in a major setback for the research of Bob Page.

I wonder if by Page's assistant they might mean Simons, and if the secure vault Bob mentions is at Area 51

Damn shame we're likely never gonna get a new game in the Jensen arc. The heist section was a blast, man. so many ways around made it a lot of fun even on your like 3rd playthrough.

It's unbelievable that they did not make Megan appear physically in this game. Seeing Square Enix is not happy with how this game sold. Now I think it will be a really long time we see another game. Eidos should continue and put closure on Megan's and Adam plot.

Yeah. It has more than _some_ weight to it. Just, really look at Jensen, then look at everybody else. Jensen looks nothing like anybody else in the world, light doesn't diffuse the same way, his face isn't right, there's a lot about him that's inconsistent with others. My belief? This is deliberate. The devs are trying to point out that Jensen is not like other people in more ways than we even know.

One more secret: You see those grey crates next to the entrance on Jensen’s left at the start of the video? Those contain his clones.

I actually think that it contains the original Adam Jensen who died in Panchea. I think the Adam Jensen we're playing as here is the clone. Helle even mentioned something to that effect in her dialogue with Jensen back at his apartment after he gets the disk from the abandoned tourist office: ""She is not the original her. You, of course, are familiar with this kind of process.""

@@GraveEnd VersaLife went out of business, if I remember correctly, so the most secret projects and tech got sent off, and supposedly the Palisades Bank is one of the most secure in the world... so they stashed it there. Plus, VersaLife owned the G.A.R.M. facility, which is also in Europe, so maybe there are other European facilities, and it just made sense to keep the assets somewhat close to each other.

I think the orchid is a side effect of Megan working on Adams DNA's, which could lead to everyone's bodies fully accept the augmentations without the neuroprozyne. That's why Adam is immune. The orchid works in opposite way, making the body reject the augs in very horrific way as seen with Rucker

heartspowl oh shit 😂😂😂 Damn I was angry that Megan didn’t make an appearance, but I guess if you go for this path you do... 😂🤷‍♂️ This game was such a disappointment in my opinion. Human Revolution is a 10/10 IMO but this is a 4/10 I’d say.

@@jamiemannell4957 well I haven't had the chance to play hr unfortunately, but everyone I've heard that played it said it was a great game so I believe it 🤣 honestly I didn't care much about Megan because of what she did, and I think it would be better if she stayed in Adam's past. But she undeniably has a big role in the whole story so yeah, she probably should have been AT LEAST mentioned more tbh. Mankind divided feels like half of a game, probably because it was meant to have a sequel that never came. Doing all the side missions adds a bunch of hours to the whole game play and it's cool how the whole environment is built, but yeah, I'd say it has to be played twice to really be appreciated because a lot of cool stuff is hidden in the different paths.

I know this is 8 months late, but no. Orchid supposed to be a supplement that separate parts of the individual DNA and then replace it with Jensen's DNA that will allow the augmentation no longer rejecting the human body, but since the Orchid consumption/injection on Ruckus and Miller did not have the Jensen's DNA in place, hence resulting the immune system gone haywire and attacking the host body and caused an overhaul.

Is it possible Janus is the parent A.I. (Echelon 1-3) to Echelon IV?

Yea, I'll admit this could have been written better. It makes no sense why this audio file would be saved since it's just a phone call between them. Granted, I do love the idea of Adam finding out about what Megan's up to and reacting to it heartbroken showing he still loves her though.
