Desmos Plays "Never Gonna Give You Up" using 1,500,000 Curves
Ғылым және технология
~2000 Bézier Curves per Frame, at 25 Frames each second, multiplied by 30 seconds makes ~1,500,000 Bézier Curves. Each frame was plotted programmatically on the Desmos graphing calculator using custom software: github.com/BenMullan/GraphPic...
If you are want to see a bit more about how this sort of thing can be done, do take a look at some of the experimental Graphs I produced along the way:
- Animated Hexagon: www.desmos.com/calculator/efj...
- Swan: www.desmos.com/calculator/6ac...
- Coloured Windows Logo: www.desmos.com/calculator/vc7...
- "See?": www.desmos.com/calculator/x5c...

I think that's actually a doable problem. You should be able to train an AI to take in an image(a set of pixels), identify imprtant boundaries, simplify the image by identifying important lines. And given those lines, find a set of equations that best approximiates those lines up to some arbitrary predetermined accuracy. Maybe I'm missing something, but I struggle to understand how we even have computer animations at this and a much higher level if it wasn't figured out a long time ago.
