The thing is that Karl is probably like that in real life. After watching the Podcasts of The Ricky Gervais Show you can just tell that this is the sort of thing he'd do if this situation were real. He may not be the brightest person in the world but his heart is in the right place and he'll stand up for people who are being wronged.

lol, yas. acting involves feelings, for you to spread out and share your personality, in various ways. If you don't already know yourself, there is no point in acting. All there roles is a part of them, or where there at in life.

Watch the making-of episode of season 1, I think it was. Karl said he thinks he's a bad actor and he doesn't understand acting and it was extremely hard to play the scenes where he had to be angry. He even said that his whole body was shaking during and after these scenes because he's not used to be like this and he doesn't like it at all.

he isn't acting - its him just being him. if thats an act karl pilkington is an act. which would certainly be the best 'act' of all time. which is very unlikely. he obviously had enough of the establishment around him though so it was very fitting and the rage was probally direted at the character but real in side (as ricky and the whole production is very much apart of the establishment ) and he fcked of .which ruined the show. Its a very apt scene on a very real level.

For all us undervalued care & support workers-thank you to the whole crew. I was working in a nursing home when it was broadcast & I phoned my son to tell him to watch it-as we have the same sense of humour & when I next saw him he obviously loved it, but he told me that he didn’t realise how hard the job can be & he was proud of me. Ricky has a way of changing the way we think & opening our minds to people who are “different”,even they initially come across as horrible (Kev)! & that we all have redeeming qualities?
