I was born in a Soviet Union Ukraine. So when I was a kid we had kind of a gig like writing questionnaires about your favourite stuff. Normal. No internet, no mobile phones, no Facebook, no Insta, no TikTok. So you kinda have to entertain yourself somehow. So we were writing these questions to one another. Basic human communication. One of the questions was - your favourite musical band. I don't even remember what I wrote. But my friend Olga put - Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode. When I read it I had no idea, who were those boys from the shop or what Depeche?? So, I started investigating. Someone gave me a cassette of DM to listen. (There was no You Tube!) And I swear, I slept with their music. It helped me to get out of my childhood trauma and abuse. Many years have passed. I have moved to Europe. And went to see DM as an "adult" (hate this word) in Barcelona. It was my dream. I was jobless in Spain and didn't have so much money. But I still managed to invite my younger friend with me just to be able to show him this music. It was the best concert of my life. And my friend opened this band thanks to me. When I was there, I was thinking about my little school friend's questionnaire. We were ten years old back then. And there was a thought haunting me - how she, 10 years old in the Soviet Union knee about this band?? Answer - she had a brother 10 years older who also had a cassette recorder. And he knew. Sorry for so many words. I just want to express my love to this band. You are with me forever. God bless you all. Timeless classics. RIP Andy.

Always amazing to listen
Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated by this song in terms of the vibe it gave off, I always felt it to be a glimpse of the bright far future with not a worry in your life, but still some melancholy for the past times. When I heard the opening chords of this song live for the first time after years of waiting to hear DM, I felt that it's not the future that matters, at that time all I could do is enjoy the once in a lifetime spectacle of the night that would become eternal in my memory. DM, thank you for this masterpiece.
Martin Gore is such an amazing songwriter. I'm primarily a metalhead, but I've always loved Depeche Mode.

When I was little, my dad sometimes used to just turn off all the lights and play the live DVD, skipping straight to this song. Every single time, I knew that the sound in the beginning was the most beautiful sound in the Universe. The whole song is amazing, but those sounds at the beginning were simply fascinating. I grew up with that sound in my head, wondering how it would feel like to be there. Little did I know that I would find out, 12 years later.

Good music is eternal! People are also immortal in our memory and our hearts. Beloved ones, relatives and loved ones never leave us. They just sometimes come out a little earlier and wait for us. They give us the opportunity to be alone and feel the power of love and tenderness of feelings that we once experienced together and which we will definitely experience again, with new strength and incredible depth when we meet again. We will definitely meet in another place without wars, evil and hatred. Only love, only kindness, only such great music. I wish you peace and good spirits. Enjoy The Silence. Love is eternal!

This is BEST Live version of Enjoy the Silence. I love it.
Maravilloso.Atemporal.
My favourite Depeche Mode song
Depeche Mod is the best thing that happened in the 20th and 21st century ... Eternal music! David Gahan is just ... a great hard worker on stage! Gives himself 1000 percent! Great respect to the whole band that they ... still delight their fans !!! HEALTH for many years !!!

*Best Song Ever!!!!!!!!!*
Two of the best feelings in the world must be to be a band performing in front of a huge crowd who know and love your music so much, and to be attending such a concert. As a teenager/young adult in the 80's I loved this band from the beginning of their career, and still listen to their music today. RIP Andy Fletcher. Being on the other side of the world in New Zealand we miss out on so much in the way of amazing concerts.

@Digby Dooright I was born in 88'.... So when you hit 20 you were greeted with this and arguably one of their best albums Violator (90'). Playing the Angel (06') came out my graduation year and I got to go to Touring The Angel 7th row in PHX. It was great. Many generations of beautiful music.

I would also say Behind The Wheel (87') from Music for the Masses and Personal Jesus all compete for #1

@@lanceseaman88 , Music For The Masses by far their best album. Holds up to anything. Behind the Wheel, best start of a song, that hubcap spinning sound, Person Jesus, good song, but Pain would be above it for me, such a classic...💙💙
