    Thanks! It's been well taken care of. Repainted recently but preformance wise, it runs great for its age.

    They do. The clay is dumped on a seperate bank to be spread over the grey rock after the pit is backfilled.

    Left joystick works the bucket on a Demag. Pull it to the right to curl the bucket; left to dump the bucket. Foot pedals work the clam.

    Really good vid. Excellent camera angles and shots. Definitely enjoyed this. What a beast that 185! Am not an expert at all, but the operator looked really smooth and productive. Many thanks PA!

    @pollarddisposal That all depends on how far the machine would need to go to get to its next job. If the job is close and within a couple miles, the shovel can be walked. But to transport the machine a long distance, the H185 breaks down into modules which then are loaded up on tractor trailers and hauled away. In some cases if the machine needs to be relocated to far distance on the mine site, the machine will be loaded onto a heavy hauler in one piece and moved.

    Calvin Dunn I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. If you are talking about this particular brand, then yes. Demag built many different smaller and larger size excavators.

  • @dieselcoch

    Calvin Dunn In my country they use specialy adapted excavators to load the coal. The favoured machine at present is the CAT325, but Liebherr 924's, O&K RH9's, komatsu PC210's, CAT 225, 235's Demag H55's have been used.

  • @PAmining

    @PAmining

    Danish Ali Yes, the bull clam is hydraulically operated. There are two hydraulic cylinders on the backside of the bucket that open and close the clam.

  • @DanishAli-mo9vd

    PAmining Thanks. And can you please indicate at what speed it is rotated approximately? And is there any mechanism for controlling that speed or is it just a button or a trigger with which the hydraulics open up the door and closes it off afterwards?
