I think I need one of those. Be just the ticket for getting the leaves out of my ditches. 😄
Thanks! It's been well taken care of. Repainted recently but preformance wise, it runs great for its age.
Thank you, they are fun to watch! That is one of a few improvements I will make to my videos.
Thanks! This is actually one of my personal favorites. New stuff starts next man!
Great pov! Only 2 passes to fill those 60 ton trucks is impressive.
@odmcarp Thanks. This is one of my older videos, my newer ones I try to make longer. And the mine is in Pennsylvania
@PAmining Awesome!! Cant wait!
The size of the first view of the bucket is mind blowing
Well worth repeated viewing. Great stuff!
They do. The clay is dumped on a seperate bank to be spread over the grey rock after the pit is backfilled.
Great video. Thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Left joystick works the bucket on a Demag. Pull it to the right to curl the bucket; left to dump the bucket. Foot pedals work the clam.
Justin great video of that 22 year old girl she sure runs good seems to have lots of power.
Thanks! It is when you think how much is being moved in one scoop.
that demag looks fairly well maintained
Really good vid. Excellent camera angles and shots. Definitely enjoyed this. What a beast that 185! Am not an expert at all, but the operator looked really smooth and productive. Many thanks PA!

Thanks! This is actually one of my all time favorite videos I made! Only wish I was shooting in HD then. And yes, the operator was good!
@pollarddisposal That all depends on how far the machine would need to go to get to its next job. If the job is close and within a couple miles, the shovel can be walked. But to transport the machine a long distance, the H185 breaks down into modules which then are loaded up on tractor trailers and hauled away. In some cases if the machine needs to be relocated to far distance on the mine site, the machine will be loaded onto a heavy hauler in one piece and moved.
Looks like nice and easy digging for that machine.
Awesome video! For a 1988 that machine doesn't really look to old, and its in good shape.
Thanks! 1050hp
Yes, they are known as Dressta
Thanks! No I've filmed this machine before.
is dresser still around?? where i live i hardly ever see their machines on job sites
I had to watch this vid again Justin, what a first class view!! I dont mean to bug you, but do you have new stuff yet? No worries either way.
Hi PAmining, Really great video! mrbluenun

Yes
I don't know if anyone else noticed but it looks like the bucket on the hydrolic shovels look like they're smiling as the machines work. They remind me of a big dinosaur

Coming up this year friend!
Wow, never get lucky seeing something like that at an auction it runs too well.
No what did I say. The left is boom and bucket and right is swing and stick. S/S is your right, B/B is your left.
Does anyone know when these machines came out? With that front-scoop design that is. Thanks.

PAmining ...Thanks for the reply. My last question (sorry) ..do you think they'll make smaller versions of the machine - like the Case Backhoe, or are their smaller versions?

Calvin Dunn I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. If you are talking about this particular brand, then yes. Demag built many different smaller and larger size excavators.

Calvin Dunn In my country they use specialy adapted excavators to load the coal. The favoured machine at present is the CAT325, but Liebherr 924's, O&K RH9's, komatsu PC210's, CAT 225, 235's Demag H55's have been used.

Danish Ali Yes, the bull clam is hydraulically operated. There are two hydraulic cylinders on the backside of the bucket that open and close the clam.

PAmining Thanks. And can you please indicate at what speed it is rotated approximately? And is there any mechanism for controlling that speed or is it just a button or a trigger with which the hydraulics open up the door and closes it off afterwards?

Good commentary but you didn't tell us what the clay is going to be used for.

+ATOM09 The shovel is pre-stripping to begin developing a new pit. The clay will be stockpiled and used later for final reclamation.

PAmining Nice.
That machine fairly shifts the clay!
