I just got one 3 weeks ago last one left in Australia and I play it everyday. Still getting my head around but like you said I love a challenge. Alot of bass for the price.

@@AcousticSerenity Not bad at all I have a yamaha and jackson 5 strings and Washburn 6 string I think the Washburn is slightly heavier than the Ibanez. Its sits nice when your standing and playing and dosent dip at all. Neck is very accessible too for a 7 string (a little bit of a stretch going for the low C note😂) but like I said in my other comment its alot of bass for the price I paid 1750 Australian for mine its worth it and great addition to my collection. 🤘

@@AcousticSerenity I personally think it weighs more than my other Ibanez basses and more than my custom Killer B bass. I sit down when I play anyhow, so it really doesn't matter to me. If I didn't, I know my neck would be hurting by the end of a gig. Love it, though.

Beautiful bass guitar! What I have done with my 6 string Ibanaz bass is open D, A, D, G, C, F. Very cool. Left out the open B. You will find this tuning very interesting indeed. Can play chords just like the 7 string only a "narrower" neck. Thanks for your video. Rock on people. Invoking Invoking favor

Great description: " Physically daunting, kind of a mental thing going on here " Off topic but comparable to years ago riding tight east woods riding on my modified Honda CR 500. The BTB 747 & Honda CR 500 are basically both reserved for the experts and/or insane

It is interesting to see that Ibanez is picking up where Conklin left off in the 1990's- Check out a great bassist named Budda playing a Conklin 7 string. He is more of a funk/jazz bassist with super chops. You'll probably feel sorry you made this video. I enjoyed that you presented the bass, playing not so much. New instruments are always a challenge. Thanks for sharing

I have owned a btb 6 since 2010. Loved the build loved the way played as far as set up once.I tweaked it a little but could never use it in a professional setting because it just sounded boomy and horrible. So I was bummed.I finally changed the print and oh my god what a difference!!! It fixed the problem At first. I thought it might be the pick ups could not change them because they were an odd Measurement, so I went with a Delano Nine volt preamp wow siglad the pickups were not the problem.

I've gotten a lot more proficient on the 7 string since I got it this past summer. It's still a bit of a mental challenge in regard to the extra "F" string on the high end, and it will be a while before I can record with it or play live with it. Still, I'm thankful I was able to obtain the thing. Got a deal I really couldn't pass up.

Hey, thanks for thinking of me and asking me to do covers, but that's something I just don't have the time for. I'm in 3 bands as it is, have been doing some file sharing with other musicians on original material, will be working with fellow ex-Petra guitarist Greg Hough on some material, plus I'm in the process of writing the next SALT project. It would take a lot of time to do a decent cover, especially on bass, and I just don't have that kind of time. Anyway, thanks for thinking I have the kind of chops that could pull that off, I appreciate that.
