I'm picking mine up tomorrow, glad to see it's meeting and exceeding my expectations!
Great review, I'm glad because mine is ordered and will be here this week. Going over all the positions and settings will save me a bit of time. I've been on the fence about which 30" scale to buy and had looked for the original SCR6. I love the variety of tones it can produce. I think going multiscale helps with the longer scale ranges. I lot of the bass vi and other guitars can be great but after this mod to the bridge, pick up, or the like. I'll get this in and be ready to jam.
Finally a decent review of this instrument. 10/10. Thank you for this.
Follow up: I've had mine 4 days now, and can hardly put it down. It was touched on in the review, but it makes you want to play. For me, that was worth the price of admission alone. It has such a ranch of tones. It'll happily give you traditional bass sounds, djent all you like, and have you trying something else. I was surprised by how it has me playing further down the scale and up the strings. It has range. Think it's a great value at the price point. Things I might tweak would put that price quite a bit higher, like maybe putting Fishmans in it or a Nordtrand set.
Thanks Arnold God continued blessings in your music. Love the bass vi idea and this is a cool twist with fanfrets.
I was choosing between RGIB21 and this one and you completely sold this thing to me. Because of Ibanez demos I thought that this thing can't make funny chugy noises. Thank you so much for review
Your intro was an ass kicker! Great demo of the instrument. Thanks for the concise, informative presentation.
That was some really heavy stuff 😀 you make great reviews, and great recorded, really cool videos 😀
Just bought one and used it live. I love it! Very inspiring, indeed!
Sounds badass! Great review! Also that pedalboard 👀👀🤘🏻

it would be interesting to see you review it with slightly lighter strings and less gain
Such a weird design, I like it a lot. Wish they'd do a more guitar-focused 30" baritone but they've got the RGIB at 28" so I can see why they're making a distinction between those lines

30in scale is a bass guitar. You can tune a 27 down to E and it still sounds like a guitar. This sounds like a bass

@@KaiDown perhaps in theory if you use thinner strings, but if you can’t do bends or any of the other tricks, then you’re just playing bass. I get it’s a preference thing but the need for an extra long baritone is over stated. You can tune a 25.5 down pretty low. 27 is a good balance

@@shirtpants4203 You can still do bends and pinch squeals and anything else on a 30" guitar - I set mine up with the same tension as a set of 10s in E standard at 25.5, so it just feels like a normal guitar with a longer neck and a lower tuning. I've got a bunch of different scale length baritones; 27", 27.75", 29" and 30" and there isn't a massive difference between them in terms of feel.

@@KaiDown I play on the higher strings a lot. Those high strings become very brittle and hard to bend. I don’t think it’s worth it honestly
Ibanez really has been out doing themselves lately. I love this thing a lot. Great review! I just got the new Rg-8 with fan frets. (Had the old Rg-8. Got it in about 2016 and it was my main guitar gor years). And let me tell you. With the new Rg-8. Its like they read my mind about all my dislikes and actually addressed them properly. Im in love with my new baby. Theyre very solid instruments.
Dude sick riff!
that thing sounds so rad!
Wicked! I want to get this and play Baroque jams! 🤘🏻😎
The demo songs are always so ridiculously good.
Arnold , it would be great if you add the Jeff Loomis Pro Kelly to your review list!! Your channel is one of only a few that I really trust and like to watchon KZread so it'd be great to know what's your very own personal opinion about Loomis Kelly🤘
Absolutely the best review i've seen for this guitar. Very in-depth and enjoyable to watch. I gotta ask, how do you feel about this guitar now if you still have it? The only thing I think I wouldn't like is the knobs being where they are like you mentioned. Idk if I would be able to work with that or not.
interesting, with a bit of arrangement to certain parts of your material you could record a whole project with this. As in taking the concept of using just one guitar to record all the parts to allow for intonation issues this instrument bring that option to guitar and bass parts.
Great to hear from you again! It's funny, when I was starting off with guitar and music in general I used to think Ibanez basses we're built like spaceships. Turns out it's actually a lot easier than I thought Unless it's Thundercat's signature model, that man has every bell and whistle under the sun lol
Hey Arnold nice vid. I looked into the older SRC 6 model, a used non-Indo one about 2 years ago. It’s basically the same but no multi scale. I like how it sounds through your guitar amp/sim. It’s interesting because those really look like bass pickups on it. I like the noisyness of it too. My choice would be to play through a guitar amp as well. Im wondering if the knob placement is different on the older SRC6? Ive heard some cool ambient guitar hooks with that older model in the clean setting. The Bunn has an awesome sludge example using it. Surely my next vi will be the SRC 6. Im still feeling partial to my Hellraiser though. Great review

Control locations are the same ...only difference is the neck and the bridge.
I just got mine today from K.S.M music in Logan Utah my friend's at the shop ordered it for me six months ago
Man, I was set on the Iron Label baritone RG, but it's way expensive and only 28" scale, this might be a much better option.
Always need a good bass guitar around 👌
Playing the brown notes, drinking the brown notes 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for 12:48 +++ Showing guitars basic pickups and eq various tones.

This instrument could be a good bang-for-the-buck if you're doing home recordings. You can do both guitar and bass recordings without changing your tuning.

That's what I'm thinking. I use helix native and the pitch shifting on that isn't too bad

Was thinking the exact opposite lol. Perfect live instrument for a 3 piece death metal band that can't choose between 2 guitars or 1 guitar and a bass. Could even work with a signal splitter and a separate guitar and bass pedalboard...
I bought one of these few months back, and I use the tunning the is on the Ibanez page, but it doesn't sound like yours. Can you please tell me what tunning you are using. Great demo! Thanks!
What pick is that? Looks incredible, especially for bass!
The most interesting baritone on the market! It is sad that they will not be delivered to Russia now.

wonder how it sound with a quality octaver ? Sound like a Guitar?
Would Fishman Fluence, SD Blackouts, etc drop right in without having to use a router? If so, you'd only need to use four of the existing six holes and could move the pots away from the strings.

That'd be a no. This is all bass hardware, including pickups, which are a different size and shape to guitar pickups
What amp sim are you using?
I used to have the older src6 model. Loved that thing. Installed some 7 string bkp juggernauts in it. It was disgusting.
What tuning is this?
How to tone ? Is The same guitar tone? 1E,2B,3G,4D,5A,6E ? 🤔
I really want one of these but I'm SUPER sketched out by anyone showing stock photos. A lot of these looks AWFUL with the 3 piece body, you kind of have to luck out for something that looks relatively cohesive. Hoping I come across a nice one in person when I've got some pocket change.
I have the The Ibanez srms805 bass version of this. The pups for the bass application suck as hell. But man they slay for guitar.

That drink you have doesn't really sound like a Stout to me. Sounds more like a kind of drink they used to make many years ago in England called a Porter as its got coffee in it...
Thirty inch Bourbon guitar made by Geese. Sounds Canadian to me.
That intro track was fkn MEAN
Why medium sized frets!
IMO they should have put guitar tuners on that bass instead of the Y shape bass tuners for aesthetics. Also not use a clear finish on a body with more than two pieces that are also often mismatching, cuz I've seen photos of this model with even a 4 piece body that looks grotesque, and concerning on that price range.
