Full bass rundown: Ibanez LA custom shop BTB 6
Музыка
Here is the full rundown of my Ibanez custom BTB 6 string bass. This one of a kind instrument was built to my specs at Ibanez's LA custom shop.
This bass was built by the same master luthiers and craftsmen that have built instruments for Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Thundercat, Gary Willis, Tosin Abasi and more!

I like those jazz pick ups in the 60s position too, my primary jazz bass has pick ups in those positions and man.. it is a world of difference especially with slap
Brilliant playing man and killer bass. Love your sound.

@1:31 I heard that sneaky little Lick in there 😂 Jokes aside awesome playing and really cool bass man! Also ibanez needs to bring back those groovelines, those were sick!

Haha thanks man! Gotta sneak in the lick somewhere 😜 And yes the Groovelines are pretty awesome and probably my favorite model that Ibanez produced. I’m not sure if they’ll ever bring them out again but never say never!
Awesome playing! This bass looks like it could be an emergency functional flotation device

My dude!!
Fantastic playing and a very cool-looking bass!!! I had no idea that Ibanez made custom shop basses! The tonal versatility of your bass is impressive! The Ibanez thin soap bar pickups remind me of the pickups on the Yamaha John Patitucci signature 6-string bass.

Thank you! Yes they have a custom shop but it's only available to Ibanez Artists. The team did an outstanding job on this bass!
Awesome playing and such a versatile beast of a BTB! Gotta hit 'em with the licc at 1:31 ;)

Great vid. Instant sub after I realized you’re the dude from the 6 string masterclass on chords I’ve seen YEARS ago, but it still stuck in my head. Love the background music btw, what is it?
@BassWithBenjamin

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed my masterclass!! The background music is just music bumpers I created for my videos. I use them a lot on my video courses that are on my website!
It has a classic ken smith sound as well!!!!

@@BassWithBenjamin They are the best I've ever heard. Wish they had them for sale as a pack for J basses, for example! Amazing clear mellow tone.

@@user-rn5ne8rj9k They are incredible and you used to be able to buy the pickups individually from any Ibanez dealer. You still might be able to or even from Reverb or Ebay!
That neck is WIIIDE, even for a 6-string.

It’s actually not that wide. For a 6 string it’s on the slimmer side. My Grooveline is slightly wider. The widest ones I played were the old Yamaha TRB 6 strings from the early 90s.
Benjamin, yes it sounds nice, great and your playing is phenomenal as usual but of what use is this 32 minutes explanation if we cannot get it to buy at the end of the day. Is this just for us to know what the bass you play is made of, after which we should go our different ways....🤷🏽
release the intro as a song daaaaamn also where did you get that leather strap cover thing?

And I've a Glarry,(known for their Wide Necks,) but THIS one.. Damn!! I've Also a ROGUE 6..(Try to Find one,,) Pickups are Lame..but I use my Multi-Effects to Compensate Also Had a 605, Stolen, Unfortunately, Still, Neck was Too Wide, ( And I Play Upright!!)
What kind of envelope effect do you have on your bass it sounds amazing

Lovely bass Benjamin :) What is the string spacing? (seems to be 18mm? same as my Schack bass ) Quite difficult to find 6 strings with 18mm string spacing...
@BassWithBenjamin
4 ай бұрын
Thanks!! I think it might be 18mm indeed but not 100% positive
Which string spacing did you go with on the hip shot bridge?
