I had over 900k emails for one address alone, they dated back to 2015!! Now I am down to 400k and I'm in 2019 so this is definitely progress for me!!! YES, I have needed one or two and was thankful I was able to find it. It's fun to look back and read old emails and see old pictures especially if someone has passed away.
Since I started the Flylady Baby Steps with you 2 years ago, my digital thinks are allways clean😊 so a free day for me🥳
Oh boy!! I better get going this morning. I have over 9,000 lol. Thanks Steph! 😊
Another 'need to declutter' for me, you're really hitting all the big areas in our house. Wow, my house is going to be so much better after this month! Thank you 😊

Me, too. Everything she posted so far during this challenge has been a frustration and irritation to my brain. Isn't it so freeing?
Well done. I don’t have any emails to read but I’ve easily over 1,000 in the inbox. I try delete as I look at them but some I plan to go back and read later which doesn’t seem to happen. What I do find very helpful is to search a name, select all to delete and do the same in the bin, now that I do find very satisfying. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💪💐
This is so true, digital clutter is just like physical clutter!! I try and declutter my email every day and try to keep it at less than 50 in my in box to keep it manageable. TFS! 💕🌴😎
They add up so fast!! Blink and there are 5 more!! After 2 years at home, I am so electronics weary, the last thing I want to do is sit in front of any type of screen, decluttering/organizing. BUT, we all know where avoidance leads us - with MORE! So, a big push, and then constant vigilance and a daily routine to keep it all manageable. Just decluttered 4 - that leaves only 1,968 more to go!
This is one I've got covered! It drives me crazy to have a lot of emails in my in box!
Emails can be worse than paper clutter for some people !! Out of sight, out of mind... until you get to an overwhelming amount to get rid.
Oh no, I've been avoiding this one for so long 😂 Well, off I go and get it sorted! 👍

Me too!
You were right!! Going from 14,000+ emails to 0, feels like a HUGE burden is off my shoulders. THANK YOU!!!!
Digital clutter = mental clutter. So true! Today, email inbox. Tomorrow, desktop icons! Thanks for the motivation 💪🏼
I try to keep my inbox organized by adding a “saved” folder to my account where I can put emails that still need my attention or need to be saved for later reference. This helps keep my “inbox” cleaner, and I’m not having to sort through emails that I’ve already read. My inbox is nice and tidy, but my “junk mail” box is another story (I tend to forget about it)! I had 762 emails in my junk folder and that took a bit to delete because I do quickly scan to make sure something didn’t get into that folder that shouldn’t be there😬 We went from paper junk to electronic junk…just so fabulous🤪
I have an email setup for “junk” emails and then one for things I want to make sure I don’t miss. It’s helps me keep it manageable. I have about 200 left to delete. I spend 5 minutes a day to help manage this. Love your channel
It's amazing how much of a difference it makes mentally to know my inbox is decluttered!
Digital decluttering is important! I have 99+ in my inbox. No extra emails anywhere else. Empty trash and no spam. No extra or unused apps. Working with my daughter to digitize my photos so everyone in the family can get a chance to copy any they want.
I already have the habit of making a cup of coffee (doing a chore while it brews) then sitting down to watch your video! Thanks so much for the motivation!
I love how these projects that seem so intimidating really don’t take that much time at all. We just have to get started!
Thank you for this! This was actually my first time on your channel and I immediately got started with this. I have had emails from like 2011. I had over 9,000 and I'm down to 728. This so refreshing and liberating. I have also unsubscribed to 8 listings I often times delet or pass up since they are not priority. You are an inspiration!! Thank you 😊.
I have been putting this off for so long... Today is the day to get it under control.
I only keep 1-5 emails in my inbox so this will be a quick one for me!
I do a digital declutter several times a week. Just decluttered a couple while watching this video!
Thanks so much for doing this. Love watching you everyday!
I did this last month on a daily basis with an old email I use as basically a trash email. It’s the only one o use to sign up for things…..over 6,000+ emails deleted!!!! Now it’s at 11 because that is basically what I wake up to every morning!!!! And I just have worked in to unsubscribe or take care of those daily. This month I intend to attend to my main email! The one I don’t just “give out”. That one stays under control. It’s way too much digital clutter! See you tomorrow!
This is a huge project for me. Ať least I gave it some time, unsubscribed from mailing list I don't follow and deleted some emails. Thank you ❤️
I was dreading this one... approximately 40 minutes later 1791 emails deleted including a few from 2008! Inbox zero!
This is something I try to do on at least a monthly basis. For anything I need to keep (receipts for example) I move them into a folder as soon as I receive it. Makes things so much easier to find if I need to reference it later
I’m really enjoying this daily decluttering. It’s very helpful to tackle these small projects daily instead of trying to do everything at once. It’s easy to become overwhelmed. I have a huge number of emails, so it will take longer than 20 minutes, but at least it’s a start!
This was right up my alley! Thank you!
What an inspiration you are Steph. I can keep up with reading and deleting emails that don’t relate. However, I do not keep up with transferring emails that may be useful into folders. So, thanks to your example of getting rid of 2500 (!) emails, I am setting up some email storage places now.
This is a big one and what I dread doing the most.
I had over 1,700 emails....I deleted over 400 but wow did that take some time. A lot of mine are saved emails and some pictures. Thanks for the motivation to clear. Have a great day!
Thanks for this! I love how these challenges are so doable even with young kids.
I did this a few months ago...so liberating! Now I just get the important ones and so much time has been saved! Thanks for your videos!
2,229 unread emails and countless more just takin up space! Thank you for the reminder that even digital clutter can effect our mood and take up space in our mind. Goal of inbox zero, here I come.
You are so right! Digital clutter can be overwhelming! I honestly go through my emails every single day to stay on top of it and like you I unsubscribe to things that I no longer need cluttering my inbox! Thanks for the motivation and inspiration! You are awesome!!
Yikes! This is the thing that I am most behind on! Thanks for the motivation....I am loving this series :)
This is so awesome I totally need to do this today! I don’t have nearly that many emails floating in my inbox probably more like 100 but I definitely need to declutter. I used to delete them all when I got them until I started emailing my now husband and I save those emails as memories.
A year ago, I cleaned put 8000 emails from my inbox, after watching one of your videos. I now keep my inbox down to virtually zero every month. Never again will I let it get out of hand 😅
Thanks for the inspiration, Steph! I never declutter my e-mail. But deleted over 4000 e-mails tonight en described to a lot of newsletters/ junkmail. I'm not finished yet en still have 25.000 (!) e-mails to go. But I moved them all to an archive folder for another time. So my inbox is now nice and empty😀! For the first time in many years.
Hi Steph, i found your channel 2 days ago recommended by Emily Norris and have to say Im hooked your incredible keep up the amazing content i love your outfit in this video keep up the amazing content xx
This is great! I'm pretty good at doing this daily, so I only had about 45 emails to declutter! Thx for the daily motivation!
I took one look at today's decluttering project and said no way am I going to do that. 😅 I decided just to check how many I had and ended up starting to go through them. I had over 22,000 emails in my inbox and over 1,100 unread ones. It took way too long because I do have some important ones I don't want to lose, but just reached ZERO unread and 62 in my inbox. Thanks Steph!!😃🥳
I decluttered my inbox a few weeks go and it felt great! There is definitely something satisfying about having no unread messages.
Love when my phone apps are organized.
Mine is done every morning. Today is Thursday, so it's dinning room/nail room to clean.
Ha ha I have so much more! I am addicted to subscribing to newsletters and then I just don’t read them… will spend some time on that today. Thank you!
I do this when I am stuck waiting for someone while sitting in the car. I cleared out the junk file on my iPad in about thirty seconds! I only have a iphone and an iPad, no other electronics, media. I am using today to clean the floors with my fav Mrs. Meyers. We will have a day of grace with warm sunshine. I am readying the household for a two week trip to see the grands. Hubs and son will be baching it.
This surprised me by leaving me feeling overwhelmed, so I'm going to dedicate 10 mins a day to work on this. Thanks for the push in the right direction.
I'm pretty meticulous about my emails. Keep then cleaned up and saved to appropriate folders for things I need to keep. I learned this when I worked. I am a little more lax on my phone, so thanks for reminding me to clean it up. Today I deleted maybe 50 and unsubscribed from 15 newsletters.
I have tried to keep up with this one. It's nonstop of course so I could always do it some more!
I always like to have an email purge after being on holidays as is easy to see what I don’t really need to read. And unsubscribe. Drives me crazy that you have to unsubscribe from newsletters, etc when you didn’t subscribe, but just made a purchase. Work wise I go with inbox zero. Anything I need to action goes into my Microsoft to do list and anything to read gets moved automatically to a “Read” folder which I try to spend 15 mins every day looking at. Has been life changing.
I have over 1,000!! Yikes!! I work with autistic kids and I always sign up for newsletters for teaching sites and I feel so overwhelmed! It makes my ADD brain feel so stressed. Thanks for the reminder that I should be doing this periodically!!!
Oh, my goodness! I so understand what you mean! If my inbox gets up to 30, I start to panic! I can't stand it. I just looked, and right now, mine has 15 in it. My goal is to keep it to where I can see all of my inbox on one screen without scrolling down. LOL! I have gmail, so 15 is the limit to be able to do that, so I guess I am doing okay for right now. Getting it down to zero is amazing! This was a really fun challenge. Thank you so much for all you do, Steph!
Two hours gone and I’m only back to December 2021. I knew it needed attention but hadn’t realized how lax I am at deleting unnecessary emails. Progress not perfection is this year’s phrase for me. Thanks for this challenge.
“All the emails” was too hard! But some email purging was helpful. Thank you for the assignments each day. I was aggravated about something and I thought to myself, “you can’t control everything, but you CAN go do steph’s task!”.
Thank you for your videos!
So needed here thank you!
This is so satisfying!
Only 22!! I’ve been watching you for a while now and try to declutter emails once a week and unsubscribe to junk email regularly! Love your channel!❤️
I have mostly been keeping up with e-mails but I was due to go through them again. Declutter 47 e-mails. Love that you're keeping us on something everyday. It is so helpful. Thank you, again.
I stopped the video and went and deleted about 1,500 emails and then came back to finish the videos…. Emails that I thought were important 2 years ago I realize I don’t need them anymore… I truly enjoy all your content
Email is something I am on top of. No decluttering needed for me today, I do mine daily!
I have made it a daily habit to not leave any emails unread. Any I don’t want immediately get deleted. I may not read personal email every day but get it done every few days. Work email is handled the same way and is always totally read by the end of the day. So, I guess I will continue purging my books (yes, still). Called the local library and they rake donations which seems to have made it easier to let my books go.
I could totally stand to unsubscribe from a lot of things. Meanwhile, every January, I take all the emails from the previous year and move them to a folder labelled that year. Inbox zero!
Thanks for the motivation!💙
I needed this one!
Ok. It took some persistence, but I cleared out my inbox. All the way to ZERO emails. I started at 48 thousand the day you posted the challenge. Thank you. As always, my stressed out mind is thanking you for helping to ease the clutter.
loving all the videos!!!
An easy one today! I delete spam and read email daily, but today I cleaned out old emails that I was saving for confirmations and appointments.
Love cleaning out my email inbox! It can be so intimidating, but always so rewarding.
I try to do this several times a day. It's just so much easier to stay on top of it. It's a good thing to do when waiting for kids at school, appointments or when you can't sleep at night. lol
I decided to declutter my emails, I started with 39,707 and as of now I have 1200...this is major progress for me. Thanks for the kick in the butt that I needed.
Super helpful!
Definitely need to do this!!
What a great series! Thanks for the motivation!
Thank you for the reminder to keep looking at the unseen things in life that still weigh on us. I appreciate the motivation!
Have finally started doing this!!! THANKS!!
Great motivation.
“Clutters your mind” nailed it! Unsubscribed to a dozen emails!
Digital clutter is a huge procrastination task for me. Especially my phone! Thankyou for the motivation, today is the day!
I am shocked by how much I can get done In 15 minutes! I can do this. Love your channel Steph.
I SO need to do this!
I decluttered 50 emails today. I try to keep my email in-box down to 200 or less. If I have too many, I get anxious and worried that I'm might miss important information. I use to do it weekly, but have been trying to do some daily to keep the number down to a reasonable amount. I unsubscribed to 10 newsletters too. Thanks Steph for this digital decluttering assignment!
I take a few minutes everyday or so to check my emails and declutter them as I go. I'm glad you're teaching me how to get my house in order!!!
I am startimg tomorrow, in the Netherlands. This week my youngest child had the flu. She is almost better now, so I think tomorrow is a good day to start. Thanks for all your inspiration
I just did this yesterday. Felt great!
Easy-peasy! I've done this regularly since I found you! Thank you!
Best advise I ever got for dealing with a ton of email is to search for the word "unsubscribe" as those messages are typically not something necessary, and then they're easy to delete all at once.
I did this this morning. Thank you so much for the continued motivation.
Great idea! Here goes!
I recently did this exact thing because I was nearly out of Google storage. I had no idea I had like 10 years of emails just sitting there wasting precious space! Goodbye digital clutter, hello freedom (and room for more photos of my sweet family!) 😊
Wow I really need this decluttered thanks!
Thank you for including a digital declutter! It's amazing to me how much a full inbox adds stress to my mind, and how much of a relief it is to have it empty!
Such a great idea for spring cleaning!!!!
This is the best idea ever!
I’ve deleted over 6,000 emails thanks to this challenge!
Great idea!
Planning on it tomorrow morning!
Eek, I have thousands of emails. My emails are a pain to get deleted, so I’ve been not doing it. I regularly unsubscribe but they just keep mounting up. I’m aiming for over 1000!
