Mountain Harbor looks like it was a great choice! Yummy looking breakfast! Almost to Virginia, whoo-hoo! You'll love Virginia, no Va blues.. praying for a safe journey..the ticks are bad this year. Stay vigilant. You two are an amazing duo!

When I first stayed there in 07 Mountain Harbour had been opened a year or two. Mary said “Mountain Man I’m going to fix you Biscuits and Gravy in the morning”. She not only had Biscuits and Gravy but everything else you could dream up. Wow I was in hog heaven. A favorite stop for me. Y’all are still rocking it. Loving the videos.

You both look so happy! Little Bear gets a big smile, and her eyes twinkle every time she sees or talks about food! You are both true thru hikers! Just add about 2 miles per day in distance and enjoy the rest of the trail to Maine. Hiking strong! geek

Such a great place to zero. That breakfast looked amazing! Hopefully you put a little weight back on from all that food, Mama Bear. Good to see you take tics seriously. For such a small bug, they can cause alot of health issues.

...OMG !! I gained lbs. just listening to her describe the counter of food .... Looks amazing !! .. .... Another state crossing .... are we going to see another Bear on Bear takedown ?? ..... ... Good to keep up with the Permethrin ,,, Tics are definitely a problem but as you go north in the heat and foliage growth ,, also the Mosquito's and Black Flies can be horrendous.... be careful not to treat too heavy ,, especially your buffs or sleep gear or anything near your face ,, a hiker earlier on trail had a sever allergy issue with it ,, needed to go to the hospital .... Instructions say , 6 weeks or 6 washings .... Good job on the close out Little Bear ,, pic of Ellie is extra cute ..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....

Glad ya'll had a good, relaxing day. I also follow Hiking Dancer. Followed her on the AT. I have a busy "hiking" schedule this year. I follow 2 on the AT, 1 on the PCT, and one on the CDT. Plus, I have one who will be doing the Allegheny Mountain area. Ya'll are doing so well. Thanks for sharing your zero with us. That breakfast looked scrumptious. Hope you had some tomato pie. How did you guys prepare yourself for this hike ? My husband and I plan on going sometime In future and we are in our 50’s we go to the gym and we do backpacking trips not no more then 50 miles.

I just turned 50 and I also hope to hike the AT in the future ❤ From what I’ve seen, they did a lot of hiking at home plus they did some hikes in the foothills of Georgia. They also did some “shakedown” hikes where they went for a few days of hiking and camping to test out all their equipment and switch out items that didn’t work for them. Hope this helps!

Go back and watch their foothill trail video. Also, if in a flat area, you need to do something that help with mountains school bench up and down work good I heard.

I found out that there is no training flatlanders can do to hike the AT effortlessly. Just walk regularly. Get used to your pack…ride it on the hips obviously…then mentally prepare for the huffing and puffing of going up and down hills all day every day. It’s a great journey with adventures up trail every day.

Could you please tell me what air pad and pillow you’re using? I’ve been following your journey since the beginning and my husband is after me to backpack. I told him he had to get me your air pad and pillow! lol we sure enjoy watching you and Little Bear! Thank you❤️

We started with the Nemo Tensor Extreme and now have the regular Nemo Tensor Insulated. Our pillow is the Flextail Zero pillow.

It depends. Usually 2-3 days ahead, but sometimes on the day of if something comes up.

How do you arrange for the reserved table places ? It seems that you got the best room, plus this table reservation. Is this an extra cost, a special treatment ? The breakfast looked good but the hostess made a hugely long description of it. No need to try to be an entertainer.

I booked that particular room and it came with the reserved table. Anyone staying in the main lodge gets a reserved table. Wonderful place! 😊
