Our last brand new car was in 2014, a Ford Escape. We were going from two cars to one because my husband was retiring. Sold our Malibu to CarMax for a truly decent price. Very easy, too. We had a trade-in, an Aveo. Both Chevys were costing us too much in repair bills, too. Trade-in amount was good. Very low loan rate. Made payments for six years; was paid off in 2020. The climate crazies took over; gasoline went sky-high. I love my car. I’m going to drive it for as long as I can. It has less than 30,000 miles on it. I do not want an EV, & I am furious that these are being pushed/forced.

@@UserHunca I had a 2001 Ford Escape XLT. It was a good running SUV. I traded it in for a 2017 Ford Escape in 2019. When I traded it in, it had 322,000 miles on it and it was still running strong. I retired and wanted to get something newer. I miss it at times. Great SUV.

Now I know why I have seen so many vehicles here with Alaskan license plates in our area. I heard they have been coming down here, buying vehicles, then driving them to Seattle, taking the ferry, and then driving them into Alaska. Other than the price of vehicles here, they have mentioned that ours don't have rust because of our dry desert climate. I bought my 2005 Minivan brand new, 2 miles on the speedometer, and she now has 280,000 miles on her and still going. I drive her everywhere, even off-roading. LOL! I may be old, but I ain't dead, I still like adventure and to have fun.

Still remember the vehicle Bert bought and drove all the way home. Wow! that vehicle is gone. That was when you were still renting. Buying used in Alaska is still the best way to go. Hope all works out for the Best!

Got it for $900, n ,sold it to a junkyard for $450..after driving it to over 305 k miles!! A good truck!! Miss 'em!! Lookin for another!! Your new one, is amazing!! The CRV is a great car. We have one here in Tasmania. It has taken us through floods, unpaved roads, river crossings and snow. 😂😂 yes snow in Aus.. Hope our car lasts a few more years even though our poodle pup has eaten the edge of the back seat while we were on a road trip. While you worry about moose we worry about wallaby and wombats on the road.

I absolutely love my Honda CRV!

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt 4-door no rust completely in good shape and it only has 90,000 Mi on it. And it's continuing to run. I only drive it less than 3,000 miles a year because I'm a senior citizen and the only place I ever go is to the doctor's office or to the grocery store. And it's been a wonderful car and I love it. I only paid $10,000 for it back in 2006 when I bought it it had 32,000 Mi on it it was a leased car but it was in great condition and it's still doing great

I'm 70 and have had both new and used vehicles. I'm currently driving a 2005 Honda Pilot that we bought new. It had 6 miles on it and currently has only 59,450. It's a great car and hope to live out my driving days with it. 😊

My boss bought a Ford suv and it kept leaking oil. She had it in the dealership shop so much, she basically didn’t get to drive it much. She decided to invoke the lemon law. Ford took her to court and had their expert get on the stand and testify that it was not unusual to have to put a quart of oil in the suv every day. That doesn’t say much for their vehicles. I will never buy a Ford.

I’ve always bought new. I bought a 2016 Honda CRV EX Touring, for $32K cash, sold it to Carmax for $25,400 so it cost me $7K to drive it for 6 years. The only money I put into was a battery and oil changes when the car said it was time. Bought a new 2022 Honda CRV EX-L for $38K put the Carmax $$ towards it and paid cash for the $13K difference. I pamper my vehicles and they are always in a garage, which helps with resell value. Jessica, I’m picky also on the color. I’ve had black before, but they salt our roads here in Ohio and it looks terrible until it is warm enough to wash it. So now I have had several White colored vehicles and that work out great! Toyotas have become my favorite! I put 160,000 miles on my Camry and my granddaughter driving it to school put 180,000 more miles on it!

I've bought one brand new vehicle. Went back to buying gently used after that. Not worth buying new, just get a couple of years old and avoid all that new car depreciation.

I bought a new FWD-only Mazda CX-5 in 2014...$32K? Its been great. Short hwy/city driving it averages ~26mpg. Some long Summer trips, with 4 others in the car its done 35mpg with the AC running the whole time. I've been very happy.

My two uncles that sold cars for a living, told me they when buying a car from a dealership to ask for at least 9% less than the asking price.

Please to help yourself , check into Ford, if anything happens to the computer in their vehicles, it will cost 4000 to reset computer . Only Ford can do this and they can charge what they want . My brother had a Ford truck , so it is parked and not working . Love your videos and love your family . Good luck on your journey of vehicle looking .❤

I feel so blessed to say I actually bought a brand new 2023 Subaru crosstrek my 2nd vehicle I paid cash for. You guys did a fantastic job picking a vehicle. Love your sweet family. I’m a new car gal all the way. In my 20’s I had clunkers, now I’m 69 and my last 4 cars have been new. I always traded mine in and someone got very lucky. Extremely low mileage, TLC inside and out. Never had a problem with new and definitely don’t want to buy someone else’s problems? Congrats nonetheless.

I live in North Carolina and I am 69 years old. I have never bought a new car. The last car I bought is a Chevy Equinox and it was 2 years old when I bought it in 2020. I still love it. It is my retirement gift to myself. I always save my money so I can pay cash, because I hate car payments. It seems as if you make the payments and just get it paid for and it's time to buy a new one.

My husband bought me a brand new 2011 Jeep Patriot.. 4 cylinder.. 4 wheel drive.. love it! I still have my Jeep, love the gas mileage, the color red.. I always had old used cars.. we were blessed that we were able to purchase my Jeep! He worked so hard to provide for our family.. We buy certified pre owned (usually Mazda). Our son just picked up a certified pre owned Chevy. I don't think we'll ever buy new. Prices are outrageous. And OMG Liv saying bye at the end was the icing on the cake!

Those steps are great, but our motor in the steps went out and now the step stay down all the time. We stay at a Staybridge in Florence, South Carolina last week. It was a wonderful stay.

I love Staybridge suites. They are always clean and most are dog friendly.

$5,000 buys a lot of gas. You have a huge family and it seems right to get a vehicle you need.

We were just in the exact same hotel. Great place to stay. They also have free laundry. Buy new is the way to go.

I got a new Honda Piolet last year. It's our 3rd Honda . It's a dream, family hauler, off roader and amazing snow mobile. Ford stands for Found On Road Dead, which seems accurate considering your story. I've never had an engine die, even on our lemon Subaru.
