Day 33 of EPIC | Dumbbell LEGS + BICEP Workout - Caroline Girvan

Complete lower body and biceps workout... dumbbells ready to go! Glutes, hamstrings, quads, core and of course biceps will be working hard throughout this dumbbell workout!!
You will also need a mat. I am using 2 different weights but this is not necessary! The Dumbbells I am using are 8kg x 2 and 10kg x 2 for your reference!
As you will see below, the workout consists of 2 complexes for lower body (1 with 2 dumbbells and the other with 1 dumbbell). The second complex requires to switch sides after all 4 exercises have been completed!

Remember to take it slow.. particularly the complexes and curls... it will make it more challenging if you control the movements!
Some general tips for this workout:
⭐️Place mat under when performing dead stop lunges. Lower slowly to dead stop lunge to prevent any impact to knees when they make contact to mat.
⭐️During bodyweight sumo to hand tap, keep back flat so you touch hands to floor in a Romanian deadlift position!

I feel the same after turning 50 everything changed in my body and 2yrs later had a catostrophic injury to my back. There go my high heels... Still live with tingling and night time cramps but these workout are a godsend.. it's helped in many ways, my tone and definition has increased.. Love this workout! Complexes are the best. And after 4 months of training with Caroline, I’ve finally graduated from 10lb to 15lb weights for biceps. Yay! 💪🏻
Hello, everyone! Day 33: done! I'm trying to do my workouts in the morning because it gives me incredible energy, as much as my 3 boys, for the rest of the day! This one is as we love them, intense, in force, in control, technical too! Warm up long before! You'll see that after a few minutes, 8 or 10kg will seem huge to you! Thanks to Caroline, I learned that focussing on muscle soliciting, by controlling its movement, increasing the impact of exercise. One of the big differences with the videos proposed by other coach is that Caroline really takes the time to give us the right positions, teach us the technique to be more effective but also avoid injury.Good practice, everyone, have fun! Here we go EPIC squad .... 10-minute complexes mixed in with some bicep curls!! 😳 Caroline is really preparing us for the 20-minute complex she wrote about a few weeks back. 👀💀 I’m very excited to tackle this workout tomorrow morning! I like to note that she used her 8kgs for the first complex. You all should know what it means when she goes light on her lower body ... the first complex will be a TORCHER.

AHHHHH! I wish I would have read that earlier - I started with the 10kg & it was too hard so I dropped to 7.5kg for the entire workout. Had I noticed, I might have survived the second bottom round with the 10kg.
Hi Caroline. I'm 62 years old and live in Toronto, Canada. You have been my inspiration since January 2021. You have given me something to look forward to during this pandemic by inspiring me to do my very best and, as a result, I have gotten stronger and healthier. I completed the Epic 1 program once and now I'm on my second round with heavier weights. Once I complete Epic 1 again, I will move onto Epic 2. I'm so happy I found you. :)

I get scared as well when I hear the word complex. They are less fun since this is so repetitive. But what has to be done, has to be done and repetitions are most effective. And I do add breaks when I think it's required. Everyone is on a different level and I cannot compete with an athlete like her :).
Oh my GOSH Caroline, TWO milestones today! Firstly its my 33-anniversary... meaning I’m picking after today where I had to leave off the first time due to illness. I hit RESTART when that happened and I have worked my way back to 33 and I’m so excited to move FORWARD!!! The second milestone is that last night my Mr. and I were horsing around and he squeezed my biceps and said “WOW!!!!” - admitted my muscles were in as good shape as his own... thats a huge compliment coming from him! THANK YOU so very much. You’ve made this isolation time not only bearable, but enjoyable and strengthening in every way. I cannot express enough gratitude. Epic 33 completed. It was challenging but very interesting because Caroline has used her creative juices to keep us motivated. The music was groovy during the biceps work and I danced💖
What a wonderful workout!! So challenging and yet enjoyable. It was particularly hard as I finally upped my wts from 5 kgs to 7.5kgs. It feel so happy today. Looking forward to more workouts!! I am almost down to 3kgs since i started the epic journey. I am yet to take the measurements and i will wait till the last day to compare the overall progress. I just can’t believe that i am able to do all these exercises. Never been a healthy person but i am loving how strong i have grown over last 3-4 months! You have been a big part of it Caroline. You truly are godsend.

Hi Caroline...I have really enjoyed the mixed workouts this week with different body parts and this looks like another brilliant one! Last time I did biceps with you my biceps were sore for about 3 days afterwards and I suspect this will be the same!! And the supersets for legs look challenging but fun! This was one of the best workouts I've done. I went through every exercise without a glitch. And most of all I was very pleased with the fact that I was able to use either both of my 10 lb dumbbells and also in some exercises with just one dumbbell I was able to use the 10 lb. I am so pleased that I was able to do this for the first time since I got them. When using both of the 10 lb dumbbells I was only able to do one or two wraps and then had to switch and go to my lower weight dumbbells so that I could complete the exercise with good form. My upper thighs have definition on the side and my legs feel very hard and firm 🤣 I am very grateful to you Caroline and have no intention of stopping. God bless you and your family in these troubled times. You have really done a wonderful thing for so many people around the world.

Agreed, didn't listen at the start and thought we had 30 sec rest into 10 min bicep complex which worried me haha
Just finished this workout and Oh God it was piece of Hell to the legs and biceps my shoulders are still sore I had to go on slower pace for this workout specially the complex parts and stopped many times to rest it’s a BadA$$ workout need patience ,strength ,challenging mind and body to push through all. I used 2x 10.25kg for the complexes and 2X 8.75 kg for the biceps parts The finisher is amazing I even add head shoulders press . I now enjoy these repetitive workouts as the results very good for the body. Thank you very much looking forward for next Epic workout. I hope everyone enjoy it and push it harder. You did a GREAT job with that weight!! In my legs I have more strength, but for my arms usually cut in half to the weight that Caroline uses and from there I have been gradually increasing. With the leg complex today, loading the 2x10kg for 10 minutes involves a lot of effort for my wrists, so I had to work with 8kg.

Incredible workout! I am getting better at complex's and can feel how my endurance has improved since day 1. So happy I took a chance and began my EPIC journey!!
We all drag our mats out, dumbbells or other bit of equipment out and fill a water and meet you for another session. Always filled with anticipation and excitement to see what you will have in store. Like a smorgasbord of old and new moves to wake up areas of our bodies. Your workouts never disappoint. I’m always learning something new. Always feel challenged and enjoy the time till we meet here again. Can’t express enough gratitude for you making this happen. I’m HOOKED! May you and your family be blessed.

my upper abs was so much in pain ..i thought i would skip today . but i did the workout and to my surprise my abs soreness is decreased a lot.. u r wonderful caroline

Wow! Caroline you blew through the second set of compound movements. I had to slow it down. These workouts are tough and challenge me. Thank you thank you thank you for the great Combos and for all the hard work you put into these workouts😘
