Followed your video and it works as shown. Thanks for saving hours of tweaks with your quick procedure.

I'm so dumb. I was doing the paper calibration and I was doing all four corners or just did the back left right and MIDDLE of the bed.... Instead of MIDDLE FRONT. My results were, suffice to say, incredibly inconsistent. Thanks for this video!!!!!

So you want the paper to have a slight grip to the bed and extruder? I set mine last night to where the paper slightly glides under the points. Then had two print fails where I had to clean a bunch of plastic off the extruder. Then again, maybe it's the glue. I used the basic stuff that came with it, and prints were so hard to get off. Then bought some purple glue sticks from Walmart. Those worked for awhile until I ran out. Bought some more, but don't seem like the same ones I used before. I'll try recalibrating mine again with a tighter paper grip.

Thanks for the video. So once you do one side and then another you don't have to go back and check the side you just did? Doesn't it adjust the opposite side when you turn the adjustment screw?

Great video. I have cheap paper, so I made myself a key so I can use 1-3 layers.

hiya peeps - this works a treat, but 1st your print job must be set to 0,01mm the closest/finest it will print, then stop as described, and keep re checking all points, as when adjusting, one point it will throw out a point you have just adjusted. I normally do a test print after and close up a click or two all three points to get the 1st layer squashed up, sometimes its too close and needs to be backed off a click on all three -

The correct thickness is 0.4mm which is the size of a standard business card.

May I know why you are only measuring 3 points but not measuring 4 points instead?

That, and adjusting at 4 points is a nuisance, you'd have to use an indicator for that much in the same way you'd adjust a 4-Jaw chuck on a lathe. Just calibrated mine, and there is a bit of craziness involved getting the numbers to the +/-20 range, but I used both the paper method and manual adjustments to get it to where I needed. Took about an hour, but most of that time was waiting for the machine to run it's calibration cycle to get the numbers. If you used the paper method, be sure to start at the lowest point because adjusting one knob will affect the other heights to some degree.

I have the exact same printer, mill and printer, now I wonder if you also have a cheap 40w chinese laser engraver too LOL

Just Josh I actually thought about getting one, are they any good? The 3d printer is great but a bit of a toy, its the only machine I can use currently as I live in a pretty small apartment with my wife and toddler so the maxnc is in my dads workshop. First project i'll do when I finally get my own workshop is build a diy injection moulder, then use the maxnc to make tooling for it :D

As long as you don't try and use it for cutting anything it makes a pretty good engraver in its limits. The proprietary software is its biggest holdup The diy injection mold sounds awesome! I don't know the first thing about injection molding. I look forward to it.
