I also haven't told David Letterman that I, portrayed the actor Ben Affleck as the 'Batman' TV series casting director William P. D'Angelo. William P. D'Angelo has anticipated my bad future.

Dave is my all time favourite talk show host. Sure others were funny. But he could actually have a funny conversation with his guests. Leno is a close second and better at the stand-up part. But these clowns they have today? Seriously they cant find a more charismatic guy than Fallon or Corden to name a few?

Gotta disagree -- I find it really delightful when Seth and his guests talk about their kids in beaming, blissed-out, and comical ways. We especially need to see men talking with parental joy about their kids and each others in ways that used to be the purview of mothers only. The model of the emotionally distant, physically unaffectionate, grudgingly parental type of father needs to consigned to the trash bin of social norms -- Donald Trump is proof of that, as both example and result.

My friend had to take an ambulance, dispatched by 911 as an emergency, to the hospital. Just the fee for the ambulance was $2600 (a little more). After insurance, however, it was only $800. But as has been said NUMEROUS times before -- very nearly EVERY American family is just ONE medical issue away from bankruptcy. A heart-bypass costs at least $100,000 -- the same as a serious gunshot wound. Losing a foot or leg in an accident, that's way over $100,000 (only $50k for the initial surgery, but required follow-up care eats up the rest).

In 2003 I'd been a fan of Dave for decades (which isn't easy in Australia), but realised I (as a father to two young boys) had life experience he hadn't experienced yet (being a father). Watching David Letterman open up on air about being a dad to Harry was VERY relatable and understandable. It's the human experience ... so much better than monologues, movie promotion, and skits. $0.02

Being European this is really hard to imagine to having to pay for an ambulance... so what happens if you don´t happen to be rich? Do people just not call an ambulance even if they need one or do they end up in massive debts afterwards? Where I live even a person without insurance or money will get treated in a hospital if it´s a matter of life or death and the city will pay for that...

My wife and I went in for delivery on a Saturday evening. By Sunday morning, our son had not yet arrived. The hospital brought breakfast for the patient -- that is, my wife -- and on Sunday morning, it was pretty good: French toast. Well, the breakfast smelled amazing, I was famished, and my wife, being in labor, was in no condition to eat it. I figured we were going to pay for it anyway, so I asked her if she'd mind if I ate it. She said no and so I did. Here is my advice to any of you who may ever be in that same situation: DO NOT EAT THE FRENCH TOAST. It doesn't matter that she can't eat it. It doesn't matter that you'll pay for it even if it sits untouched. And it sure doesn't matter that you asked and she said it was fine. Don't you take the first bite. For if you do, she will resent the hell out of that act. For years to come, in recalling the story of your son's birth to groups of people, she will always mention that part in a way that makes you look like the biggest ass. I'm telling you, no matter how delicious the French toast is, it will not be worth it. Instead, tell her, "Well, I'm hungry but I'm too excited to eat right now. This is wonderful and I love you so much. Let's see if your mother wants the breakfast."
