David Bowie - HEROES - REHEARSAL / SOUNDCHECK - Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert - 20 April 1992

Ойын-сауық

Filmed on the afternoon of the concert at Wembley Stadium - London
You can see Bowie on the stage and the rehearse Heroes twice, however the camera zooms in on this and you can only see Roger Taylor. Bowie does appear near the end sax in hand. Bowie is in the purple suit.

So I am sitting here with lap top on knee, clapping in time, and my dog is on my right barking her head off and wagging her tail in some kind of unison and it is 2024... David sounds amazing as usual, that unexpectedly deep voice, especially when you can't see him. Love and miss you Bowie every day.

Mick Ronson's contributions as a classically trained musician along with his uniquely original guitar technique, instrument of choice and monsterously aggressive guitar riffs, string arrangements, compositions etc.-not to mention production engineering capabilities are what defined Bowie's legacy in the anuls of Rock & Roll-and his stage prowess and showmanship often eclipsed Bowie's during performances-point being that Mick Ronson at the very least, deserves equal credit for the David Bowie icon and legendary status that exists now and forever- for those in complete unawares..I cant imagine an existance without the music these 2 giants amongst men contributed to my wasted youth..I am truly blessed to have experienced it all in the moment..R.I.P. Mick Ronson and David Bowie

That rehearsal/soundcheck really paid off as the live version of Heroes is Bowie and Ronson's (not forgetting the rest of Queen of course) best live performance of the song ever. I've watched that video over and over again on KZread and it still sends shivers down my spine every time.
