In my mind, this is what low tier villains have to be capable of, both physically and mentally, in order to even be a threat to most of the heroes. This is for Marvel and DC villains. Heck, tons of Batman and Spiderman villains aren't impressive when you just hear their backstory and powers, but when you see how they work with other villains or what happens when they have a grudge against anyone other than the hero, they really get down to business.

for the "sensitive to sounds" thing where he turns on loud music to drown out the sounds of the city, i actually think that makes sense. i have adhd and am pretty sensitive to noise and can experience sensory overload if i hear a bunch of overlapping noises, especially because i cant control them. to combat this i also listen to loud music (but usually through headphones) to block out all the other noises with one single noise that i can control

This is gonna sound really weird, but fuck it. This video legit helped me get my driver’s license. I had already failed it before, so my nerves got the best of me on this next attempt. There were two or so points where it got pretty bad, so I just thought back to this video (particularly 10:35 and 16:31) to get a quick laugh in my head and calm myself down. @Expand Dong ​ Batman (1989) tied Joker's foot to a stone gargoyle while he was hanging from a helicopter's ladder and let gravity do its work. This caused so much controversy over the next 15 years that the Nolan version said they would make sure not to do that. And in just Batman Begins, Bruce blows up the League of Shadows where we see several stunt people flying around in the explosions and the fake Ra's dies. Then he lets the real Ra's die at the movie's climax after Gordon (following Batman's plan) took out the tracks of the elevated train they were on. The ridiculous part is that BOTH TIMES they explicitly invoked Batman's no-kill rule in the movie seconds before he killed people.

The recent Chip Zdarsky/Chechetto run on Daredevil was so damn good. He even makes Elektra/Daredevil fun by having Elektra be this sort of protective figure who tries to help Matt over his bullshit because she's exasperated with him but genuinely loves him at the same time

As much as I love Evanescence and My Immortal, I still can't help but laugh that they put My Immortal in the funeral scene of this movie. They were asking to get memed on with that choice.

I'm just gonna admit as a 9 year old who was super edgy I loved this movie. Now as a 28 year old I still love it, but on a completely different level for different reasons. The on the nose moment of the music "all this time I can't believe I couldn't see" while panning over to Matt was just *chefs kiss* perfection

One thing to this movie's credit, is I think the whole him sleeping in a sensory deprivation tank is actually a really good idea. It makes total sense that'd be the only way someone with that heightened of senses would be able to get a good night's sleep.

My best guess for Bulleye’s coat rattling is because Ireland used to be swarmed with snakes until St Patrick came and booted them all out (hence st Patrick’s day). That or the directors thought snakes were cool

I've never seen this movie but I knew "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence was in it; I just didn't know where in the movie it was played at. I literally had to pause the video and collect myself when I saw/heard that the lyrics, "All this time I can't believe I couldn't see..." was played over a shot Matt's blind eyes. It felt like getting punched in the face.

I never thought about it, but the coffin he sleeps in might be some kind of sensory deprivation tank thing. I always wondered why he was sleeping in water but sensory deprivation for sleep would make sense.

Poor Jennifer Garner. They miscast her in so many of her early roles, trying to make her this stoic badass action heroine. 13 Going On 30 was a good course correction, showing how better suited she was to comedy. The Evanescence scene was my favourite thing in the world when I was 9. I always wanted a movie to do a similar scene with t.A.T.u's "All the Things She Said" 🤣

Fant4stic makes Daredevil looks like Boyz In The Hood

Maybe because bullseyes coat appears to be made out snake skin

The scene with him turning on music could've shown his power details a lil, have him turn on quiet music that's hard for the audience to hear, but then show Matt focusing his hearing and blocking out the traffic noise

Daredevil sleeping in a coffin is a reference to the fact that he will die one day

Nah is a isolation tank he uses it to soften the noise of the streets. his ears are submerged in water but he does not sink because of crystalline substances he put there that also heals his body.

@@dragos8839 Because those isolation tanks exist in real life. It makes sense that he would use it. I think they call it deprivation tanks and when u inside there u for a long time u can’t feel your body. So it makes sense he would use it to lower the pain he feels after doing vigilantism.

This movie would’ve been perfect if Matt just tripped on the edge of the building and flopped over at the final shot.

That soundtrack made my childhood, I saw it when I was 5 and I still love nu metal because this movie sunk its teeth into me

This movie came out the year I was born, making it possibly the second worst thing to come out of 2003

My brother and I watched this movie yesterday just to heckle it, but we ended up paying weirdly close attention to everything Bullseye uses to either kill or injure people and (with a little bit of wordplay) almost everything starts with the letter P. Observe the list: - paper clips - peanuts - pencils - plate - playing card - pipe (from the organ) - pointy sword (this one’s a stretch I know) - picture glass (from the church window) We found this genuinely hilarious, whether it was intentional or not, and were disappointed when the post-credit scene weapon (the injection needle) did not start with P 😂

Elektra is a necessary evil in Daredevil’s comic arc. She is probably the one thing, urge, need he cannot shake off. So she does have a point in the story. And as for her, she’s just addicted to trouble

I always hate those training montages like Electra setting up a bunch of sandbags hanging from the ceiling that she kicks at and stabs. What good would that do? The sandbags aren’t moving or fighting back. I like to imagine the real life implications for doing that kind of stuff. Before the scene really pops off show her on a ladder with a hammer and some nails in her mouth hanging them up.. and then the training/warm-up whatever the fluck she’s doing there.. and then cut straight back to her with no music sweeping up all the sand and throwing the sacks away. Seems to me that setting all those things up would be way more effort than it’s worth.

You should thank Daredevil for giving us the MCU. Kevin Fiege was the producer for this movie. After being fed up with the studio for not listening to him, he decided to call in favors and have Marvel make their own movies. If this had been a success, they might have been no MCU.

The film had a $78 million budget and grossed almost $180 worldwide in theatres. This was long before billion dollar movies. Any action film that grossed between $150 and $200 million was considered a financial success. We're just used to larger box office intake, in part because of inflation, but also in part because of things like 3D, Imax, and social media boosting exposure. Facebook, Twitter, KZread, and even MySpace didn't yet exist when "Daredevil" was released. It was a different marketing world then.
