You forgot the Karate in Slow Motion. I took a (non-goth) friend to Helter Skelter in LA, mid-90's. He had not idea how to dance. But then he had the bright idea of just doing karate in slow mo. He fit in just 👌👌👌

I think some people are more open minded nowadays then the 80s 90s. Thing’s we did back then that people had issues with like wearing all black and listening to music they didn’t understand and all the label’s they threw at you, all the BS Streo types and? Why u have a Mo hawk or black eye liner or are you a devil worshipper Etc. Today’s generation is rocking what was already done and not getting back lash or as much. I see some kid’s with Mo hawks and it’s accepted. When I did it some people like the jocks and preppy people and hip hop heads would call u out. It was crazy back then but all worth it lol

I'm still trying to break out of 'rooted to the spot' XD My first forays to goth clubs were in RIDICULOUSLY huge 6-7 inch heels, rooted to the spot was the only way, lol. Getting a bit better now, but I also drink more at clubs now, which means even my comfy platform boots feel a bit dodgy for moving around in. I still own the huge gorgeous heels and would *love* to wear them out more, but last time I sprained my ankle and I have this *huge* fear of tripping sideways on huge heels and actually breaking an ankle, urkkkk, I even DREAM about this sometimes it's such a horror of mine! D: I need zimmerframes to become a cool goth club accessory, I could do *anything* with a zimmerframe to prop me up! :O

Not that rooted to the spot doesn't look killer but I can see your issue. Are they wedge platforms or full on platform WITH heels? I've tried a pair of those in 5" and took a header just walking to the car...Needless to say I went back inside a changed my shoes. I have this paranoia about falling on the dancefloor. I can totally see your fear since you've actually gotten injured. The things we do for fucking fashion! I know this sounds weird but have you tried reinforcing the soles of your shoes with rubber for supreme grip?

I think it's great that she wanted to be authentic in her choreography. Not only that, that she knew exactly where to go. Goth dancing has pretty much stayed true to its core since the 80s but once the 90s hit and more goth bands came out, there were bands that introduced more romantic and ethereal qualities which also affected the dancing. Back in the 80s it was more, I guess true to its punk roots and less fluid like it is now. We still got those hardcore 80s goth dancers tho!

I'm 52 now and I used to attend in the early 90s mostly shows like The Muffs, The Dickies, etc. But after getting back into bands like the real Christian Death, Sisters of Mercy, and my sisters turning me on to Switchblade Symphony, I would start going by myself to a club called Coven 13 in L.A., and I would be mesmerized by the movements of the goth girls dancing on the dim lit dance floor. Great memories. The last death rock show I attended as Rozz Williams at the Billboard Live w/ADZ and Penis Flytrap in November 1997, 6 months prior to his passing. @@SoloKrauT I mean, seriously, I prefer this three step forward, three steps back dance with letting the head roll with the movement, depending on the song with more or less arm work. And if I´m funny I like to turn, and only dance backward, but that seems to be only me. The two handed two step stuff just came out of desperation for me, when there is no room for more fancy stuff. But have seen all the other stuff as well. I wonder why the three step wasn´t shown in the video, is it a German thing? It is a very common dance move in Germany since the 80s. Not that I was there in the 80s, but I have seen videos of it, and people still dance like it.

Oh Im in love with your channel. Theres so many videos on "how to do this and this and that the gothic way" but its almost every time non-serious or with a tad too much hint of humor in it. I was dark and gloomy in the late 1990s and beginning of 2000. I-DANCED-LIKE-THIS. No fun about it. Compleatly non-ridicule. And you turn this shit up like a goth godess. I hope all the newly "embraced" goths look at you as a rolemodel and inspiration. I also saw your post about the scene cravling back into ttheir caves, not doing clubs anymore. Its true. its online or festivals or in the closet. For me, im gonna pick up my black lipstick and lace again and go full-on every day goth again. Not letting my job, expectation or the norm holding me back. Thank you. You brighten up (or darken:P ) my life!

I performed 90 % of those moves back in the late 80ties early 90ties. And I am from a small city in northern Germany. It almost makes me believe in morphogenetic fields. We had a nother very popular dance move where you pretended to bow and reach out with one arm, like in a Renaissance painting from a dutch artist, constantly. The small cellar club we went to was our second living room. The ceiling had a lot of pipes that collected the condensed sweat of us and dripped from time to time. Teen old me drank hot amaretto with cream , yuk, when I needed a boost. I was never a full on goth, but on two occasions I went the babypowder route with heavy eyeliner but i decided it wasn't flattering to my complexion. And then acid house hit the club and many more. We were devastated.
