Dan has the ability to become the song. His voice and performance in this is incredible. This is a stage worthy performance and his voice is right up there with best opera singers. Many thanks for reacting to this one. Dan records his vocals in a room in his house. Then he records the video in his garage studio. From what I understand, there are no windows in the garage and he stands in front of a black backdrop.

Dan sang this song exactly the way it was performed by Ted Neely 1971 in the film. I loved this Rock opera since I first saw it in cinema at this time - and Dan does it perfect...

Outstanding performance and vocal masterpiece by Dan. He is a natural at acting. His I'll Make a Man Out of You and Burn Butcher Burn are two other examples of his skills. Dan is so incredible! This one is absolutely top notch. His voice, his intonation, his passion, his acting, his screams, his EVERYTHING... is perfect! I've seen this rock opera many times and by many different singers. Ted Neely was always my favorite until I heard Dan Vasc sing Gethsemane and now this is the best version of this song I've ever heard!

I haven't seen the Film. First thing I saw was Dan performing this song. And it is perfect. Than I whent to see the original from the film and it was dull and nothing special compared to Dan. He IS jesus with all his fears and humanity. I love it!

If you must compare, then listen to Ted Neely. He portrayed Jesus in the movie and then for many years on and off Broadway. Also for classical music listen to Dan's version of Nessun Dorma. ❤

No, he didn't do the film. He is a West End and Broadway superstar. He performed G at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50th birthday, as well as many concerts over the years. He is simply incredible,
