okay. i always resist, but i'm going to make my comment and go. i completely agree with you. it's cringey as hell when people only like musical artists because they've gotten exposed in a show. i mean it's good for the artist but it's also cheapening. i will agree that's it's cringey to compare musical tastes like it's some pissing contest, but seriously. example. my so is obsessed with cars. he is the sort of person that would truly appreciate the beauty, function, build, artistry of cars eso many people would dream of owning. it would be as though someone goes about just accruing things to accredit them to their personal brand when they don't even care. music means something to me, so it's so annoying when people don't seek it out, complain "good music just doesn't exist anymore", "such and such brought me here". i wish people would stop only attatching themselves to things when they're on trend. like altruism. as soon as it's not going to get you facebook likes, you're going to abandon it. no identity, so it bugs the crap out of me when people just use artists like damien rice to up their ego when they could actually appreciate the art.
I declared this my favourite song when I was 17. I’m now almost 33, still my favourite.

We might kiss when we are alone When nobody's watching We might take it home We might make out when nobody's there It's not that we're scared It's just that it's delicate So why do you fill my sorrow With the words you've borrowed From the only place you've known And why do you sing Hallelujah If it means nothing to you Why do you sing with me at all? We might live like never before When there's nothing to give Well how can we ask for more We might make love in some sacred place The look on your face is delicate So why do you fill my sorrow With the words you've borrowed From the only place you've known And why do you sing Hallelujah If it means nothing to you Why do you sing with me at all? So why do you fill my sorrow With the words you've borrowed From the only place you've known And why do you sing Hallelujah If it means nothing to you Why do you sing with me at all?

Damien Rice is just outstanding. His arrangements are just so beautiful and soul shaking. His brutal honesty and thoughtful lyricism is what I love about him. But I think what I love most about his work is that he really dives into and explores all aspects of the human condition. He may just be the most talented and underrated artist of our time.

One of the most moving and beautiful songs I've ever heard. From 3:45 forward, when his vocal becomes more urgent and Lisa's high notes join the melody, leaves me absolutely shattered into pieces. Songs like this can make you miss mythical people who only exist in our most wishful desires.

damn seeing the old characters resembling it was heaven brought me to tears RIP Nairobi
Everyone of the Damian rice with Lisa and the Cello Player, in every incarnation, they are all such amazing performances and so well balanced. Lisa sings like a freaking angel. This makes make my already broken heart implode even more. Love is like the light at the end of a tunnel full of daggers, and when you get there you find it is only a funeral pyre. Love grabs your heart and tries to lift it higher. But the world pulls your body down, and this will tear you in two. Love is a dream I had long ago. I still have it now, but that dream is of you. Love once it is lost may never come again and yet time takes much longer for a lonely life to end.

This is seriously one of the most beautiful songs of all time. It's amazing how hearing a song after so many years can take you back to a specific time and place.
Reminds me of someone special.
The first time I listened to this song I was on the bus, and I started crying One of my favourite songs ever
I seriously wish he released THIS as his album. These sessions are as intimate as his concerts - like he's in your living room pouring his heart out to you... A spectacular artist I feel blessed to have discovered many years ago and honored to see live (albeit without ms Hannigan).
Lost brought me here! Awesome song!
I've been coming here for 10 years. It's good to see this song get a boost thanks to La Casa de Papel. Yet, what brought you here was not the series, it was the song. Regardless of why you came here, I am glad you discovered Damien Rice.
This performance lives rent free in my head.
I will always be grateful to Lost for introducing Damien Rice and especially this song to me about nine years ago! Awesome memories!
I must have heard this song a million times....and I just found out about it a few days ago. I think it´s THAT GOOD.
This is the most perfect beautiful song in the world❤❤❤🇬🇧
This gives a soul ache, a beautiful one
I've been listening to this for two days straight and crying my heart out.
This song pulls at your soul!
My sadness is dripping with my tears...
I'm in love with Damien's songs. And now after few years (after watching La Casa Del Papel) I'm back and my life and my feelings are different but love to his music still strong
I remember hearing this when I was about 13 years old and I've been stuck ever since....I'm 24 now!!
Still reminds me of that one person every time I listen to this 🖤 all the damn feels
RIP Nairobi we will never forget you .She was a legend
Absolutely incredible, the beauty, the love, the emotion! So intimate and so lovely.
Anyone who says that this song doesn't effect them in any way or that it doesn't touch them way down in the pit at the centre of their heart....has never really been in love.....and then lost that love. Damien, you are by far one of the most talented musicians I have ever heard, watched or known!! Never give up on the music......because you ARE THE MUSIC...from your every thought down to the very fiber of your soul!!!!!
For Nairobi Berlin Moscow and Oslo, that was so heartache moment😢😢👊 Lacasa de Papel season 4 brought me here
I like Damien since "Closer" movie . Thanks Netflix and money heist. Now people come here. Damien deserves this.
First heard this song 10 years ago, then I was watching an older English show called “misfits” and there it was again. What an awesome song!!! One of the best of all time!

Since I was 12 years old I've been listenin' to this album, at least 4 or 5 times a week, and it always gets me. Not only is the first track so melancholy and so affecting, but it also just means so much to me. Aside from Breath by Pink Floyd and Christmas Card... by Tom Waits, this is the only other songs that always stops me in my tracks. From the first, opening note to the last, it just entrances me and soothes my soul, my mind...whatever you want to call it Basically, this song is genuinely life changing to me and I cannot thank Damien et al enough for producing such life affirming and just straight up stunning music that both entertains me and soothes my soul, washes away the sins of the world.
