I know this is a year old, but I hear a lot of leonard cohen obviously in this song. Maybe when a song or piece of art gives you that feeling we are tapping into the emotions of all the people who developed it, which for western music is a really astronomical number of people and feelings. Anyways cheers to good music!

"Back To Her Man" The look of hunger in a woman with heat Is enough to lift an old man from his knees Like the piece of a puzzle He's been lookin' for He was leanin' to dyin' Now he's comin' back for more The look of a woman When she gets you alone You can't see what's comin' But there's blood in your bones There's powder in your pocket And ships in your sea Well it doesn't often happen But it happened to me Then she goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man There's a look of war in the way that you go But the lead in your arrow is loose, don't you know? And all that you've got is lost in the game Of picking your own pockets for someone to blame There may be nothin' above the art of love Depending on who you're dreaming of And you can't escape When it feels like rape But who's raping who? Then she goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man She goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man She don't love him She don't love him no more She don't love him, love him, she don't love him ...

The yearn, the longing, the desperation for a fading memory, a descending shadows, it's like trying to persuade the sunset to stop turning its back to the darkness, trying to retain the sparks of a dying candlelight. Trying to convince God to make someone stay. Very moving and emotional song, one of the best I've heard.

How can a melody be so simple and so complicated and beautiful at the same time? This is what you call genius i guess. This melody has existed in the universe for thousands of years like gravity, no one realized it was there. Only a unique mind could hear it and translate it into something we can understand. Thank you Damien.

Oh dear Lord this song. ..Damien Rice killing me ..amazing how it was like Leonard Cohen. .beautuful lyrics, such raw singing and my heart and just saying he is a modest man but he does something to me I can't explain except it what he says Leonard Cohen has and yet so does he. Filming is omg fucking amazing to boot ! God imagine being there ?

Damien Dear, what you said in the beginning about Leonard Cohen and all your women... I wonder if he realises that it's exactly what happens when someone goes to watch him perform and then has to go back home without him... And, the guy filming this deserves an Oscar for best cinematography.

LYRICS: The look of hunger in a woman with heat Is enough to lift an old man from his knees Like the piece of a puzzle He's been lookin' for He was leanin' to dyin' Now he's comin' back for more The look of a woman When she gets you alone You can't see what's comin' But there's blood in your bones There's powder in your pocket And ships in your sea Well it doesn't often happen But it happened to me Then she goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man There's a look of war in the way that you go But the lead in your arrow is loose, don't you know? And all that you've got is lost in the game Of picking your own pockets for someone to blame There may be nothin' above the art of love Depending on who you're dreaming of And you can't escape When it feels like rape But who's raping who? Then she goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man She goes back to her man Back to her man Back to, back to her man She don't love him She don't love him no more She don't love him, love him, she don't love him ...
