I know this is a year old, but I hear a lot of leonard cohen obviously in this song. Maybe when a song or piece of art gives you that feeling we are tapping into the emotions of all the people who developed it, which for western music is a really astronomical number of people and feelings. Anyways cheers to good music!

@@zachsears8438 i hear leonard in almost every one of damiens songs, he even references some on leonards lyrics. i was a fan of damien firt so becoming a fan of leonard was like an epiphany in my understanding of damiens style.

I think this is everything I wanted from a live session. The intimacy talk, incredible sound, raw emotions, the use of audience as a part of a performance. I feel like I am experience a religious and sacred ceremony.

The person who filmed this has such a brilliant eye for frames. It's impossible to play this in the background, I dare you to take your eyes off this. The video seems to sway with Damien's beautiful voice. Jeremiah, whoever you are, I'm in awe.

The yearn, the longing, the desperation for a fading memory, a descending shadows, it's like trying to persuade the sunset to stop turning its back to the darkness, trying to retain the sparks of a dying candlelight. Trying to convince God to make someone stay. Very moving and emotional song, one of the best I've heard.

I was lucky enough to be at this performance (you had no idea which performance you'd see at this festival.) Damien actually coached the crowd on the "Back to her man" backing vocals and we were all singing along having never heard the song before. It's amazing how well it turned out.

How can a melody be so simple and so complicated and beautiful at the same time? This is what you call genius i guess. This melody has existed in the universe for thousands of years like gravity, no one realized it was there. Only a unique mind could hear it and translate it into something we can understand. Thank you Damien.

I don't think I've ever listened to an unreleased song by anyone as many times as I've listened to this on this recording and others that have popped up over the last couple months. it's just too good. I keep coming back to listen. hopefully we get an album version this year.
