@@londomollari1082 What I meant in general is that when everyone else in a story is looking at a situation with one set of priorities and motivations, having someone come at the situation with different ones changes the dynamics and makes the audience think. In this particular case, throughout Season One almost everyone's question and concern is, Why did Omni-Man do this? Does he have a good excuse, a justification? Damien Darkblood's position is that it doesn't matter. Nolan's act was evil, that makes him evil, and evil must be exposed and punished if justice is to be served.

I love 2 things about Damien's effects 1) that the room he enters always gets chilly 2) And that it's like he is always there, just invisible to people oblivious of his existance

maybe he has no true body, just a manifestation in the plane of the living 🤔 so he can't be killed, just sent to hell. and a result of the manifestation it sucks energy out of our plane, thus it becomes cold. would be cool to have superheroes fight against a magical enemy

I think Cecil getting rid of Darkblood was a major mistake. Omniman seems generally spooked by him and it seems that without his true name he cant really die only be removed from our plane by an exorcism of sorts. Exactly the type of thing you need against someone like Omniman

Cecil explained himself pretty well, he KNEW Nolan did it, but he pretty much had to pretend to believe him so he still had the element of surprise. And he couldn't tell Darkblood that he knew because Darkblood, being poetic, might've revealed the information to Nolan as he did earlier "your wife doesn't believe you, how long until your son doesn't?" could've easily included Cecil suspicion. Cecil's organization doesn't seem to have the resources to stop Nolan or they need to know if there's a bigger threat. While its fucked up, and i hope Darkblood comes back, poltically the right move was to banish Darkblood because staying on Nolan's good side is more important.

The existence of one metaphysical parallel plane of existence doesn't necessarily prove the existence of another specific metaphysical plane, even if the two planes are symbolically tied together through common mythological roots. And if heavenly dimensions do exist in that universe, why are the angels allowing something like three dozen different evil alien empires to conquer, enslave, and destroy inhabited planets?

A Demon that literaly seeks justice for others to save it's own soul is an AWESOME BACKSTORY CONCEPT AND I REALLY REALLY HOPE SOMETHING HAPPENS IN FOLLOWING SEASONS TO SEE THIS GUY COMEBACK! I like to think that line is foreshadowing the war against the Viltrumites. We know that Cecil is a man who does care for people, but is pragmatic enough to go to any length to protect humanity, no matter how unethical it can be. When shit starts to hit the fan, what measures will Cecil have to take in order to protect Earth? It will be his own personal Hell.

He has to act like He doesnt know, so that brought him more time to know how to stop him. (just like He said before he sent Darkblood to hell)

What America Chavez said. Him being the sole survivor and how efficiently the Guardians were killed certainly means it's at least a possibility in one's head that Nolan was the killer, but the brutalised state Nolan was in makes it also seem likely (especially since everyone trusted Nolan) that Nolan was also a victim of the attack who survived solely by the fact that he's the strongest being on Earth.

I'd bet good money Cecil suspected the truth from the start. It's why he came down so hard on Darkblood to drop the investigation. He guessed where it would lead, and how badly Omni-Man would react. Cecil needed time to prepare for that.

It's such a distinctive look, though. Portly red-skinned thick-tailed demon, superhero body suit with a film noir detective's trench coat and fedora on top. Something you'd only see in a comic-book world.

I like it for that reason alone, personally. Makes him look more human with the hat on but when he takes it off, makes him look less humanoid and more something 'other', especially with the jump suit thing. What personally annoyed me was when he was in his office with his hat on. Like who wears their hat indoors in the comfort of their own space?

Got to give it to dark blood. He knows omni man cant do shit to him

I know this is a video Damien Darkblood, but every interaction with Cecil(and by extension Donald) makes me realize why humans are bad ass enough to stand up to Omni-Man and the rest of the Viltrumite Empire. Sheer determination and will in front of an impossible situation. To be human is to fight to survive.

In these universes, Humans are basically the "hold my beer, I got this" folk. They'll try crazy shit, nearly kill everyone in the process and still walk away thinking "we gotta try that again..." You think they have these sort of problems on planets such as Flaxan?

I love that damien darkblood is a creepy demon fresh out of hell itself and when he's on screen with Omni man you're scared for the demon. Omni man is such a great villain

I love Darkblood's speech patterns and his minimal use of words. Really adds to his persona.

Darkblood literally enters and exits scenes like Batman.

Cecil can really use Darkblood to find Nolan's weakness instead of banishing Darkblood back to hell.

Cecil explained himself pretty well, he KNEW Nolan did it, but he pretty much had to pretend to believe him so he still had the element of surprise. And he couldn't tell Darkblood that he knew because Darkblood, being poetic, might've revealed the information to Nolan as he did earlier "your wife doesn't believe you, how long until your son doesn't?" could've easily included Cecil suspicion. Cecil's organization doesn't seem to have the resources to stop Nolan or they need to know if there's a bigger threat. While its fucked up, and i hope Darkblood comes back, poltically the right move was to banish Darkblood because staying on Nolan's good side is more important.

Theres something appealing about an evil figure that isnt interested in harming you. He was a cool character

I think Cecil knew exactly who killed the Guardians as soon as he saw the scene. What he needed to know was why Nolan did it and what he planned to do next. Darkblood was threatening to expose Nolan as the killer but Cecil was, by his own admission, playing for time. So long as he kept up the charade of "looking for the killer" he could keep an eye on Nolan and find a way of stopping him. He even tried to communicate to Darkblood that he was in over his head but the Demon Detective didn't listen. Tough break, but he was given a chance to listen.

I wouldn't say the Demon detective was in over his head he was just to good at his job making him a threat to everyone, Cecil said he needed to keep things gray to buy time but Damien only saw things as black and white

5:34 such an amazing scene but this line got me really rooting for Damien. He feels like the only person who genuinely creeped out Nolan even if only a little.

Imagine how much worse the situation would've been without Darkblood. He smelt a rat from a mile away before Cecil or anybody else did.

There’s something about Damien’s outfit that intrigues me. Under the coat it looks like he’s wearing a jumpsuit a technology based civilisation would use. This makes me think that perhaps hell in Invincible isn’t just a brimstone fire location completely supernatural but may in fact also have hyper advanced technology or uses energy mistaken for magic, kind of like Hell from Doom

My theory on his white suit and the white mesh on his head (shown when he removes his hat) is that it allows Damian Darkblood to travel to the human realm. Would explain why he always has it on.

"That's not good news. That's not good news at all! I asked you for some good news, Donald!" His delivery is just so perfect in with that line.

This dude is one of the coolest characters to ever be animated

Despite his limited screen time, I LOVE Darkblood's character

0:20 you can see the subtle change is his eyes as he realizes he's seeing his breathe letting him no something paranormal is happening

Darkblood is my favorite character, and I'm saddened to think he will never appear again.

The character is more of a reimagining of The Question than anything. Sure he supeficially looks like Hellboy, but he's closer to Etrigan in backstory and what not. He's also more of a Question parody than a Rorshack parody because Rorshack was far too much of a bigoted misanthrope.

There are echoes of several other characters in Damien Darkblood, but he's a unique, distinctive, and very cool character in his own right.

7:56 Something about that ‘Why?’ It holds so much emotion.

Lord I'd watch a whole show about Darkblood alone: demon detective who can see the victim's last moments to buy himself time out of Hell.

Since they're upgrading characters like this, I hope Omnipotus gets an upgrade too. He could even be directly or indirectly responsible for Dark Blood's return by damaging the barriers between dimensions.

3:03 If Omniman is aware that Hell exists in this Universe, shouldn't he reconsider his actions? I mean, he is smart enough to understand that 1000s of years of life don't compare eternity.

Just because there is a parallel metaphysical plane of existence that looks like hell, and is populated by creatures that look like demons, does not mean that the modern American evangelical deffinitions and conception of hell are accurate. All they've established in the show is that there is a place demons come from and there are ancient magic rituals designed to combat demons because humans alive five thousand years ago didn't like demons. They didn't prove that human souls go to hell when they die, and they didn't establish the existence of heaven or god.

He's immortal and he's hard to kill so he likely not worried about it.

Man from the looks of it, he's already had better and more major role than when he was in the comics, I hope they bring him back in the next seasons. He really gives me Hellboy vibes...

Cecil being angry at Darkblood for insinuating Omni-Man was the killer is very well done. He doesn’t want to believe it, but also doesn’t want to rule it out. And being scared if the public, worse...Omni-Man finds out. The same fear Batman has about Superman. Like Cecil said, he wants to keep things grey.

its not that he doesnt want to believe in it. Cecil knows perfectly well that nolan killed the guardians. but if this information becomes public nolan will react to it and cecil does not have a reliable way of stopping him. He wants to keep things gray so he has more time to plan and figure out why he did what he did

There is no proof that damien could beat nolan, nolan cant kill him, yes, but that dosent mean damien can kill him. Being immortal is different than being an all powerful god that can kill anything with a thought.

i love everything about this guy. the stepping into scene from behind things, the cold air announcing his presence, the terse speech pattern, the sound of his claws clicking as he walks around, it all makes for a good character

Damien Darkblood deserves his own spin-off show. I mean, who wouldn't want to tune into the weekly adventures of a demon solving crimes?

i like how a literal demon just casually visits people and they just treat him like a minor inconvenience

He's just so fucking COOL

I love the detail of how we can see everyone's breath when Damien Darkblood is close.

Great gimmick. You can guess Darkblood's around, but you won't see him unless and until he wants you to.

Idk if someone else said it or not but to me its interesting that darkblood's existence is direct proof of their being an afterlife. Particularly the fact that there's both a good and bad place to go that is for eternity yet this seemingly doesn't present any internal conflict in nolan as he continues to do some pretty evil over the course of the series. You'd think that knowing hell exists would deter someone who has the capability for destruction to try to live peacefully as he may be alive for centuries but were talking eternity now.

I love how even the literal demon is like "whoa holy sh--" when he relives the memory of Red Rush getting his head squished. Probably takes a lot to freak out somebody from literal Hell.

I love how Omni Man noticed that Dark Blood was there because it got cold outside

"killer must be one of them" and by one of them he means the only one who survived the attack.

He just gave Cecil the facts, but the conclusion is obvious. And from the way Cecil reacted he'd clearly thought of the possibility himself, and how badly things could turn out if that became public knowledge.

The show actually gave him more screen time than the comics. He appears for like 3 panels and doesn’t even know Omani man was evil until everyone else did

"Say I'd see you in Hell, but there's a worse place waiting for you." Holy shit, it was his last line and yet probably one of the most badass of the series.

BEST CHARACTER IN THE SHOW WAS DAMIAN. AND RIP DONALD

Love how in the comics he's a Joke Gag Character and in the show he's a force of nature

Now this is my favourite character.

For anyone who doesn't know but wants to... Damien was a thorn in Cecil's side from the beginning of this case because Cecil knew Nolan was a dangerous person from the very start. Nolan was detected as having told no truths when he was explaining the reasons why he was on earth to Cecil which means all of the good intentions stated were the opposite of his cause. Cecil simply needed someone strong enough to protect earth and he didn't care what that took. Losing the entire force he had was worth it to keep Nolan, a sacrifice. Damien was only a problem because to properly solve a case he has to release the truth to those involved, which means way too many people. He's fighting with everything he has to not go back to hell so Cecil knew that he had to go.
