Welcome back to our continuing coverage of Amazon’s Invincible, based off the Robert Kirkman series of the same name. This is our ninth episode in this series, so feel free to check out our other videos on Omni-Man, Invincible, Robot, Battle beast, Atom Eve, Monster Girl, The Immortal, and Rex Splode as well… there should be a card on the screen now if you need help finding them. For the best understanding of these videos it does really help to watch those videos as well.
In today’s video we will be covering the origins and entire history of Cecil Stedman. But before we begin, keep in mind that this video is not going to cover every single panel that Cecil is in, but it will cover the vast majority of the most important elements of his story. Additionally, in order for the story to make the most sense I may not necessarily cover every event as it occurred in the comics, but rather in a way that presents it most logically.

The worst thing is that on Cecil's funeral, only Mark and Atom Eve went. That's sad.
“You see the world as black and white, while I need to keep it grey.” A man that live by his words.
The virgin Amanda Waller: Bosses around regular people from an office.
Is it me or Cecil is nicer in the show? Don't get me wrong, he's still extremely morally ambiguous as hell, but he shows that he doesn't like what he does, but it's fully aware that they have to be done
Did anyone else think the teleporting was actually his superpower at first😅
Everyone asks who is Cecil, but no one ever asks how is Cecil..
stedman's design is genius.
I love that initially he killed bad guys who did heinous things, but later adopts the mentality even bad guys can be useful if controlled. That's true character growth.
Cecil is really interesting and depressing character.
The only guy who Mark was so nonchalant with - even when he found out Cecil had created and repurposed his clones to kill him if he ever went rogue - I love this dude tragic end though
villain that was nearly beaten to death:
Tbh cecil lowkey was the biggest hero here out of everyone lol. He did whatever it took to protect everyone
Its ironically hypocritical that Cecil killed the first team after they did some horrendous shit but saved him. Then fastforward some years he does the same shit he hated.
Personally I prefer the Cecil we get on the show, since it really shows how badass he is.
This guy is like Batman, with the Justice League contingencies on standby at all times
I just love the implications of Nolan having a “secret identity“ like the man doesn’t even bother to wear a mask, he’s not even some random nobody, he’s a semi successful author, that would be like JK Rowling being the secret identity of Superman
I swear , Invincible has the best character back stories.
I love seeing how the art improves as the series goes on. I think it adds to the development of the characters to see them in more detail as you understand their actions better.
I really feel sad for Cecil, after sacrificing and suffering so much for the world, the way he died and was buried was really disgraceful for entire human race.
