Digger was given a piece of land by old man Southworth and good deal from Jock on Ewing 6 and pissed it away. He refused Jock's partnership then gave up the land on Southfork for less than it's value. Digger later found out that the land was rich with oil. So in his mind, he thought Jock cheated him. As far as Miss Ellie, he to busy drinking to notice she had fallen for Jock and Jock had fallen for her. So basically Digger screwed Digger.

Yes, they did a similar Storyline on the Soap Opera Guiding Light (CBS). Jenna Bradshaw acquired Spaulding Enterprises after she found out that her Father created an invention that could dig for Oil. Her Husband Roger Thorpe who was obsessed with getting Spaulding helped her. It as later discovered that her Father gave up his rights to his Invention and although Roger knew from the beginning he didn't tell her. He falsified documents and lied to her for months. After they divorced, she was worse off after than before.

Mark Anthony jock was hot. I was still in school and thought Jock was a good looking older guy. Looking back I am not sure how old he really was. 50s or 60s. He had his Miss Ellie. He was better looking than JR with cool long hair and his macho attitude. I liked Digger’s mustang, but not digger the dick. Too funny except they should have called the cops. I know it was the late 70s because today they would never condone drunk driving. Old man Barnes mustang must’ve known the way home. Jock was the only one of those good ole boys I could stand. Clayton was a good guy. I thought he was with Sue Ellen in the beginning. She should have stayed with Clayton. JR was a scumbag. Definitely not anything like the young good looking Tony Nelson.

This was retconned. In the early days, when David Jacobs wrote the show, the origins of the Barnes-Ewing feud was murky, with the truth lying somewhere in between. Jock was conniving and ruthless, while Digger was a drunk and a loser. It was only until after Jim Davis died that Jock was retconned into some kind of saint, who never did wrong to Digger.

Dallas was a tremendous show with Jim Davis, it had grit. Unfortunately, when he died, it became a soap opera. Dallas lost that "it" factor. It certainly had its moments after he died, but it was a night time soap for all intents and purposes going into season 4. My favorite scenes were of Victoria Principal at the pool in her bathing suit with those big boueys hanging out. She was amazing back then.

She got pregnant and was going to leave Digger but Digger killed him and buried him at Soutfork. Pam's mother was forced to stay with him but then left after Pam was born. Digger confessed because the body was found on Southfork and Jock was arrested, accused of his murder. Cliff was having a field day prosecuting him in court. Didn't you notice that Jock didn't apologize to Pamela, and how Gary & Valene looked. It was like saying "The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same". Also over the years so many shows had Characters who were so wrapped up on what they thought was the truth, they didn't want to "face" the truth. From Emma Nelson getting closure about her Father Shane on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Dan Connor dealing with his Mother Audrey's Bipolarism on Roseanne, Daisy Lemay realizing that her Parents were just 15 and 16 when she was born and couldn't raise her on Guiding Light, or Evan Bates accepting that his Mother died when Rachel Cory killer her in Self Defense because Janice Frame tried to kill her and steal her fortune.
